Well I can’t believe it’s Dick Van Dyke was drunk during most of that movie it’s still did all that dancing. He talked about that in an interview a few years ago
Interesting tidbit: A Spoonful of Sugar was written after the composers' children came home from school and talked about getting the sugar cube that had the polio vaccine.
Koby Pourciaux or MARY Poppins, if you go by IMDB, the video you just watched, and most if not all naming conventions. You only use r twice when it's m-e-r-r-y, as in merry Christmas
You wouldn't believe how many people have at least heard of the Newsies Broadway musical but have no idea the movie even exists....let alone that Christian Bale starred in it.
LucienSabre I loved the newsies movie but in all honesty I prefer the broadway one but yeah newsies fans need to understand that there is a movie for it
I'm sorry but noooo. Sure speechless is an amazing song but the whole movie felt like a feminist retelling of the story. It amplifies Jasmine but fails to do the actual main character justice. And while I do enjoy Will Smith as an actor he just doesn't hold a candle to Robin Williams. His songs felt messy and lost that goofy Genie quality that made us love the character in the first place. Speechless is the biggest saving grace that movie has to offer. I was disappointed in Emma as Belle but even Beauty and the Beast was better than Aladdin.
@@TheKatiebugsTTV it IS basically a feminist retelling of the original, but as to the other criticism, I can't really argue with it, bc I haven't watched the animated version in forever.
I Love Newsies.I have it on DVD got it for like $1.00 at yard sale years ago.My oldest daughter now loves this movie to.I will have to watch it sometime soon.
Another really good one that hardly anybody remembers now is Disney's FIRST live-action movie musical, Geppetto. It's a retelling of Pinocchio from Geppetto's point of view, and has great songs and an adorably heartwarming story. I wish more people remembered this hidden gem!
Jackie Lopez the one with Lesley Ann Warren? *It's Impossible, for a plain yellow pumpkin to become a golden carriage* 1965 version or 1957 version with *Julie Andrews*
If You guys are true Disney fans, than why do you have to complain on Remakes like BATB or other films, can’t you just accept the things that Disney is just trying to do to make everyone happy, and Acknowledged all the movies that Disney has working so hard to make, can’t we just Give a people with respect, is that to much to ask in the freaking world
My opinions on this list Predicting Beauty and the beast is no 1..... 10. At first I hated the sight of this film but as I rewatched it I ended up enjoying it now. 9. Never seen it. 8. Seen it and the remake. The remake isn't a musical but I prefer it though than this 1977 version. 7. A guilty pleasure ...Zac Efron never sung at all in the first movie only a bit of the 2nd one but sung for real in the last instalment. First film that introduced me to Zac Efron. 6. Another guilty pleasure. Come on it's the Muppets for crying out loud. 5. Oh I remember this one. Wasn't Angela Lansbury a a witch in this and it's like Mary Poppins as it's animated and live action. 4. Never seen it. All I know was Christian Bale was in it and it got panned by critics. 3. Love love this film. My favourite Disney remake so far and my favourite live action Disney movie . I really loved Emma Watson in this film. Screw those who thought her singing sucked. 2. Used to be at no 1 now it's no 3 on my list. Brilliant film. The first Amy Adams film I seen her in. Well it's gotta be Mary Poppins. At least Cinderella 1997 got a nod. 1. Knew it Mary Poppins the film that introduced me to Julie Andrews
Dear aj pat, there's no need for such language. (That being said, use a proper Disney-inspired insult if you really must, you uncultured swine!) Yes, Emma was NOT autotuned, but her singing really could have been a bit more... oh, w what's the word I'm looking for? Robust? Eh, that doesn't seem to fit right, but it's the only one coming to me. Basically, if she hadn't have taken singing lessons JUST for that movie--because she wanted to do her favorite Disney movie justice!--it could have been a lot worse. All that being said, I kind of wish MsMojo had used a clip of Evermore over the clip of Belle's added song. >_> I concur with my sister on her thoughts about them changing the Beast's song(s) in the Broadway musical to Evermore!
2 comments....Bedknobs and Broomsticks is the best!!! I love all the songs and now they will be stuck in my head all day.... Also while not a musical the best Muppet movie imo is The Muppets take Manhatten Edited to add...i read somewhere that the older gentlemen from enchanted dance "thats how you know" some of them were the chimney sweepers in Mary Poppins
I love Pete's Dragon, it's a great movie to watch. Or at least it's better than the remake anyway. I also loved Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Mary Poppins as well.
9:00 I've stated for the longest time that Beauty & The Beast 2017 was the perfect re-launch. And now it's nice to know that someone FINALLY agrees with me!
So glad to see my childhood favorites like Mary Poppins, Bedknobs & Broomsticks and Pete's Dragon on here. However, I'd have taken out High School Musical and replaced it with the 1997 version of Cinderella starring Brandy and Whitney Houston.
How dare you not play Candle on the Water when talking about Pete's Dragon and Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island should have at least received honorable mentions
Very very great list I like it a lot and a lot of fun too and one of my very favorite movie list I like it a lot great job mis mojo and thank you a lot for putting some of my very favorite movies on this list
Look guys, even if you HATED Emma Watson in 2017 BatB, at least the rest of the cast is made up of accomplished singers/performers, many of which have performed on Broadway. One person (Emma) doesn’t ruin the whole movie
The movie is great. Emma's singing and acting not so much. Dan Stevens completely saves the movie. I'm a huge Beauty and the Beast fan but I'll admit the live action doesn't do the animated version justice.
8:19 When I first saw the movie in theaters,I didn't wanna accept that Lefou was showing he was gay;in fact,I mistook it as a mistake because I could not believe itmyself.
Love musicals in general! Which is why i love disney sooo much! Omg! I love into the woods but that part with the princes at the stream, i was not at all impressed haha! Aww i like Pete's dragon!after i saw enchanted, i wanted to believe u could just burst out into song and dance!i love how mary poppins is number one! It's soooo great and classic! I love julie andrews!
I actually prefer the live action Beauty than the original...I also love the original songs for that movie more than the original/classic songs. I also love the live action Cinderella movie!! "Impossible!"
I hope Disney makes a live-action movie of The Hunchback of Notre Dame because I really liked the animated movie but it’s so underrated that not a lot of people talk about it. I’ve already got great choices for the actors that should play Quasimodo, Esmerelda, Captain Phoebus, and of course Judge Claude Frollo and my pick for director would be Chris Columbus.
I kinda wish Into the Woods was higher, it had a great cast and great lessons about how happily ever afters aren't always what they seem. Plus Anna Kendrick is a QUEEN
Called Mary Poppins for #1 and it definitely deserves it. The new B&B probably should’ve been number 10 or just an honorable mention. Into the Woods is definitely better than it.
Descendants 1 & 2 opening songs are missing from this list cause Rotten To the Core gets you hooked and rev up to find out what happens to the 5 kids and Descendants 2 Ways to Be Wicked gets you hooked to see what happen after first movie and to see if Mel goes back to be wicked and evil or does she turn out good and gives up her wicked ways. Also Descendants 1 & 2 were released straight to TV as TV Movies but their is a fandom for Descendants and with Descendants 3 movie on it's way I wouldn't be surprise if Disney releases the opening Song to it
Great list To all those Beauty and the Beast remake haters, keep it to yourselves cause no one wants to start an argument with anyone, people can think it's good and still adore the original, don't try to act like you're purists who feel like you're discriminated by a remake just like the 2016 Ghostbusters
When I was a child I NEEDED to watch this movie every night before I went to bed, if I didn't I didn't go to bed. That was number 5 and 1!! However I have seen some of these and others I haven't.
Disney had no involvement with The Sound Of Music. The only similarity between it and Mary Poppins is the fact that Julie Andrews starred in both of them.
Question regarding Into the Woods; if it brings those Fairy Tale stories together, doesn't that make it a crossover of some kind? Or is that just a bit of an over/understatement?
The Lion King should had been on this list especially with the songs Circle of Life, Be Prepared, Can’t Wait to be King, Can you feel Love tonight and of course Hakuna Matata.
I agree. While I did like the 2017 live-action film, I much prefer the animated version. Notable as the 1st animated film to be nominated as Best Picture when it was released.
Amen, sister! Emma made me cry. I didn’t know it was possible to wreck such a beautiful character. I’ve seen Susan Egan in the part 3 times, and it was perfection! And Paige O’Hara is iconic and whimsical. Sigh.

MsMojo I love Mary Poppins.
BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS - such an underrated movie - thank you for including it
Such an underrated Disney film! So is Pete's Dragon.
When I little, I used to turn off the lights and let the colors of the bed flying scenes flow through the room. It was like a kaleidoscope.
It is, it’s my all time favourite Movie.
I knew Mary Popins is going to be number 1. I mean... so iconic
Maja Carevic
Mary Poppins? I was gonna bet the High School Musical movies were going to be #1.
I mean who doesn’t know supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Please, High School Musical will never hold a candle to Mary Poppins. Julie Andrews won a well-deserved Oscar for that film!
Well I can’t believe it’s Dick Van Dyke was drunk during most of that movie it’s still did all that dancing. He talked about that in an interview a few years ago
Interesting tidbit: A Spoonful of Sugar was written after the composers' children came home from school and talked about getting the sugar cube that had the polio vaccine.
i am so glad that enchanted was #2, i feel that it's always looked over
It’s Mary Poppins, y’all!
It should have won Best Picture at the Oscars over My Fair Lady.
It's spell check, y'all!!!
Brent Dreher no spell check. I intentionally said “it’s”, kind of like “the number one spot is Marry Poppins, y’all”.
Koby Pourciaux or MARY Poppins, if you go by IMDB, the video you just watched, and most if not all naming conventions. You only use r twice when it's m-e-r-r-y, as in merry Christmas
Cannot wait to see on how Emily Blunt will deliver as Mary Poppins!
Now I just want to spend the whole day watching them all. Love this.
Thanks for giving some love to Enchanted! I love that movie. Of course Mary Poppins deserved number 1 though.
NEWSIES!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!! NOT EVEN 3 SECONDS INTO THIS AND YOU ALREADY GOT ME EXCITED AND HOOKED!! 💕💕
Same! First note of Santa Fe and boom instantly super interested. Anything that even just references Newsies is a win for me!
SAAAMMMEE! uuuuuuugh I love it so much! 😂💕
Mary Poppins and Julie Andrews for the win!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorites are "High School Musical", "Bedknobs and Broomsticks", "Beauty and the Beast", and "Enchanted".
While I grew up loving HSM I also love Mary Poppins! It’s a classic and I’m glad it’s number one!
Omg I’m so glad you remembered bedknobs and broomsticks!!!
One of my childhood favorites!!
Mary Poppins beauty and the beast high school musical love movie musicals be honest ❤️
I love HSM, Beauty & The Beast, Into The Woods, Newsie's, Enchanted & Mary Poppins
You wouldn't believe how many people have at least heard of the Newsies Broadway musical but have no idea the movie even exists....let alone that Christian Bale starred in it.
LucienSabre I loved the newsies movie but in all honesty I prefer the broadway one but yeah newsies fans need to understand that there is a movie for it
when live action Aladin came out, it definitly took at least the number two spot here. (I'm still singing "speechless")
I'm sorry but noooo. Sure speechless is an amazing song but the whole movie felt like a feminist retelling of the story. It amplifies Jasmine but fails to do the actual main character justice. I Love Newsies.I have it on DVD got it for like $1.00 at yard sale years ago.My oldest daughter now loves this movie to.I will have to watch it sometime soon.
I appreciate how dark Into the Woods is, and how way more accurate it is to the fairy tales it was based on despite it being a Disney movie
Another really good one that hardly anybody remembers now is Disney's FIRST live-action movie musical, Geppetto. It's a retelling of Pinocchio from Geppetto's point of view, and has great songs and an adorably heartwarming story. I wish more people remembered this hidden gem!
Actually I believe the FIRST Disney live-action movie is 101 dalmatians which came before geppetto
Omg Rogers and Hammerstein Cinderella is my favorite!! But man Julie Andrews is queen!!!
Jackie Lopez the one with Lesley Ann Warren? *It's Impossible, for a plain yellow pumpkin to become a golden carriage* 1965 version or 1957 version with *Julie Andrews*
She could be referring to the 1997 version with Brandy, since that was in the honorable mentions.
José Arturo I have so much respect for every version but my fave is the 1997 with brandy
Alex Meyer yes I was referring to that one. I need to specify more lol
Annie is my favorite hands down! Also Mary Poppins! And Bedknobs and Broomsticks! And Enchanted!
Bah! How dare you remind me that I don't hate all musicals! Great list
Loved hearing and video of Carrie Underwood singing *Ever Ever After* in _Enchanted_

so glad Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Pete’s Dragon were included! they get overlooked most of the time! 2 of my favourite films of my childhood 😊
I always thought Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was a Disney Production, but it was released by United Artists.. has Disney flavor.
And the songs were written by the Sherman brothers.
Plus, it starred Dick Van Dyke.
Bedknobs and Broomsticks has to be my favourite Disney Live Action movie, so underrated! It deserves more love and recognition
great list overall but how the f*** do you put High School Musical higher than Into the Woods???

Great List. Thanks for including Enchanted.
I feel like everyone in the comments are between 12 and 14 lol
What gives you that impression?
Jackie Lopez true...Btw...what does fleek, lit, Mean? I grew up in Far out,Groovy,Right On era ✌😄
im 15, so ha
24 lmao
I definitely agree!

So glad to see my childhood favorites like Mary Poppins, Bedknobs & Broomsticks and Pete's Dragon on here. However, I'd have taken out High School Musical and replaced it with the 1997 version of Cinderella starring Brandy and Whitney Houston.
Cinderella with Brandy should have been on it...
nessabirdie true
Absolutely. I'd take out High School Musical and put Cinderella in its place.
I'd take out "The Muppets". While I absolutely love the original R&H Cinderella with Lesley Ann Warren, I truly enjoyed the Brandy version.
Seeing Christian Bale singing about Santa Fe right at the start was just perfect.....although 'Carrying the Banner' is the real hit for Newsies
The Muppets was a decent movie...but it's not Christmas Carol. That really should have been on here instead.
Yes!Enchanted is number 2!It is finally being recognized!Oh,I'm gonna cry!😍
I was thinking the whole time that if Mary Poppins is not number 1, we were gonna have some issues.
HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL FOR EVA‼️💕
very good job indeed
Yes to all of these! Im surprised Beauty and the Beast was higher than Newsies but hey! Both are spectacular!
Number 3 is my favourite
2 and 1 are next
I think that Into The Woods and Jungle Book (Wizard of Oz) are amazing too.
I need to watch Enchanted again NOW 😄❤
i saw beauty and the beast 2017 version as the thumbnail and i was like, well i already don’t trust them.
what about, well i don’t know, MUPPETS MOST WANTED!!! it’s so much funnier!!!!
and i hate newsies and high school musical
How dare you not play Candle on the Water when talking about Pete's Dragon and Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island should have at least received honorable mentions
"Candle On The Water" is an amazing song. It got an Oscar nomination for Best Original song, but sadly it didn't win.
Bedknobs and Broomsticks will always be my favourite. Miss Price is a legend!

Pete's dragon should have been higher up on the list however THANK YOU THANK YOU for putting newies up there such an unrated movie
The thumbnail brought me here
Camille Lyons Same here. 👍😍
Aye Into the Woods, Enchanted, and Mary Poppins (ofc) are on this list❤️ such iconic musicals
Into The Woods, Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast stole my heart going high love 😌😍

Katelynn Barnes very well said! I agree!
When they're the lead? Yes they do.
Enchanted also aired on ABC on November 17, 2022
Not a fan of the remakes
Neither am I!
Me either. The remakes feel like forced sellouts more than Disney movies.
You know they're remaking Dumbo, right?
EmmaCRBsnewstuff I'm not a fan of remakes either. It's like my dad always says, "nothing beats the original".
Amanda Schaefer Yeah but the remake improves the original so still they're worthy companions!

Babes in Toyland should definitely be on Broadway
*LOVE THE TOP 10!!!*
I totally agreed with this list completely.
Called Mary Poppins for #1 and it definitely deserves it. The new B&B probably should’ve been number 10 or just an honorable mention. Into the Woods is definitely better than it.
Can you do Top 10 Non-Disney Animated Musicals?
1 and 2 are well earned.
YES "Pete's Dragon" made the list. Love the film since I was little and Elliott is still one of my favorite dragons EVER! ^_^
Look out Hermione/Belle/Emma.. Wormtail, Peter Pettigrew/Nathaniel (Timothy Spall) was in Enchanted.😆
I saw The Beauty and the Beast! I got choked up at the end!
It was still good, though, not gonna lie!
Bedknobs and Broomsticks won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects
My favourites include
Enchanted
Beauty and the Beast
Into the woods
High school musical
Descendants 1 & 2 opening songs are missing from this list cause Rotten To the Core gets you hooked and rev up to find out what happens to the 5 kids and Descendants 2 Ways to Be Wicked gets you hooked to see what happen after first movie and to see if Mel goes back to be wicked and evil or does she turn out good and gives up her wicked ways. This is amazing
I hope Mary Poppins is #1. And I’m glad that the Muppets is on this list.
The 1997 version of Cinderella is absolutely my favorite
It's good to see Babes in Toyland getting some love. It's a family favorite.
fuccccck yessss Enchanted is soooo good. Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams are so good in this. Not to mention Idina Menzel is amazing too.
11:31 “You keep using that word. I don’t think it means what you think it means.”
Great list
To all those Beauty and the Beast remake haters, keep it to yourselves cause no one wants to start an argument with anyone, people can think it's good and still adore the original, don't try to act like you're purists who feel like you're discriminated by a remake just like the 2016 Ghostbusters
When I was a child I NEEDED to watch this movie every night before I went to bed, if I didn't I didn't go to bed. That was number 5 and 1!! However I have seen some of these and others I haven't.
My favorite live musicals are High School Musical 1-3, Beauty and the Beast, The Muppets and Cinderella
I was kind of hoping for Sound of Music since Disney did have a hand it in, and of course more Julie Andrews never hurts
disney had nothing do to with the sound of music
Disney had no involvement with The Sound Of Music. The only similarity between it and Mary Poppins is the fact that Julie Andrews starred in both of them.
Hey ! And what about Decendents? It was good
Question regarding Into the Woods; if it brings those Fairy Tale stories together, doesn't that make it a crossover of some kind?
Or is that just a bit of an over/understatement?
Can’t believe you didn’t add The Cheetah Girls! 😭
The Lion King should had been on this list especially with the songs Circle of Life, Be Prepared, Can’t Wait to be King, Can you feel Love tonight and of course Hakuna Matata.
2017 Beauty and the Beast: 🤮
1991: Beauty and the Beast ❤️❤️❤️
Chelsea Canales
WRONG!
Beauty and the Beast 2017 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beauty and the Beast 1991 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
No, The live-action sucks because emma watsons auto tune.
Ricky M it was fine
Sigh.
Christian Bale was awesome as Jack Kelly in “Newsies”, but Jeremy Jordan playing him in the Broadway version was epic and a little bit better
"Into the Woods" isn't a Disney musical. It is by Stephen Sondheim and Disney just made a movie from the Broadway musical. They covered up some of the darker storylines (the second act mainly...). I didn't hate the movie, but the Broadway show has a special place in my heart.
But Disney was still the one who financed and distributed the movie version of Into The Woods, so therefore it's a Disney movie as a result.
fair enough
Disney made the most loyal movie adaptation of the musical Annie and it was the best in my opinion. At least deserved an honorable mention. if not a spot on the list
