I appreciate this review, it was quite fair and mostly unbiased (still plenty of bias mixed in though lol) which I wasn't expecting from Tech Spurt lol. Good job. BTW at 9:19 If you want more contrasty shots with darker shadows etc just use the "Photographic Styles". The Rich Contrast mode will give you really contrasty shots but I find toning it down a little gives the best results. I like -15 Tone and +5 warmth. Depends on the scenario though and the look you are going for. It's not a filter, it actually edits the way that the phone processes the shot while trying to maintain realistic colours/skin tones etc. Pays to have a play with it if the standard mode isn't quite to your liking. 12:28 I mean, it is just an evolution, just like the Note 20 Ultra, S21 Ultra , S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra and based on the rumours, the S24 Ultra will be following the same design trend. If you are going to winge that the phone isn't revolutionary then at least don't limit your complaints to the iPhone. It's the reality of the mobile phone space. The only companies that are really pushing boundaries is the small manufacturers since they are producing far fewer units which gives them more flexibility to change their designs etc. Making 100,000,000 of anything is tough, especially when you have to source parts from hundreds of suppliers and get them all manufactured and ready for the tech reviewers to willy nilly point fingers and complain about every little thing haha. Personally I have had my iPhone 15 Pro Max for about 6 weeks and it's been fantastic. I havent been able to kill it in a day even with some heavy gaming. The camera is fantastic. The telephoto I think needs a little more tuning but still takes some great photos and especially videos (the stabilisation is proper impressive). The performance has been excellent. I play Diablo Immortal on my phone and sometimes while also on a discord call with my friend using bluetooth headphones. On one particular occasion I was playing Diablo, on the discord call using bluetooth for over an hour and the phone was still cool to the touch and the battery had only drained about 10%. Note I was using max resolution with image sharpening but I had the effects turned down to low/medium which is how I usually play because I don't see the difference turning it up so what's the point? The screen is super bright. I love the standby mode, it's really handy to wake up in the morning and see my calendar already on the screen which is especially useful if I have something planned for early that day like taking my car to the mechanic for example. The reception has been a big improvement for me as well compared to my old iPhone 13 Pro. I' m not sure if that 13 Pro had something wrong with it or if it's just the 13 Pro in general but I sometimes had reception issues if I was in low reception areas (which are common around Wanaka, New Zealand where I live) but the iPhone 15 Pro Max is way more reliable for reception which is great. Also knowing that I can get help via satellite if I ever get stuck anywhere out of reception gives me peace of mind. The phone is comfortable to use which I couldnt say about the Pro Max phones in the past but that slight reduction in width, height and weight has actually made quite a big difference to the feel in the hand and I am able to use it one handed maybe 95% of the time. It's only occasionally that I need my other hand to hit a button or I do the reachability gesture (which is a bit fiddly). I am really pleased with this phone. The cameras are seriously impressive with really fantastic detail, colour reproduction and clarity across the board, the performance is phenomenal, battery life is crazy (I haven't killed it once in a day of use) and there are so many small things that make it a joy to use.
Ive been switching between this and the S23 Ultra and my Pixel 7a.After further review the ruling on the field is the S23 Ultra is the better phone by a long shot
I'm happy I got my 15pm after more than a month of waiting lol. I'd return it withing first 2 weeks if I had to deal with all issues at the beggining. It's runs nice and there is 0 overheating issues. Getting ~5hrs of sot and 50% of battery left.
Smartphones have probably plateaued by and large in terms of what they do. There was a period where each year there was some exciting feature that was added. I've had the 15PM coming from the S23 Ultra. When the s23U came out, it was hyped, particularly the camera. While it was a solid device, especially where battery performance was concerned, I felt a bit let down. Now with the 15PM, is it perfect? Nope. But it too is a solid device. My point is it all depends on what you are looking for in phone and which model you're upgrading from.
Yeah I'm convinced phone companies now keep some features in reserve just to have something to release in the next model a year later. I think we should just get a new model every 3 to 5 years.
Nowadays the changes that phones have ordinary people wont notice. The speed for instance like people do those speed test and compare opening calculator n shit😅were things like dex are available n you can start doing some basic things on your monitor were previously you would need a laptop to do that. Iphone 15 is starting to support full on playstation games. Cameras are starting to become so good you most the time dont need a dedicated camera with the likes of sony as well. I like that phones are not changing design that much. This makes so that they have no choice but to improve the more useful features
I got the 15 Pro Max on release date and returned it the week after because it was way too similar to my 13 Pro Max. Genuinely disappointing upgrade. So disappointing, I went and bought a Z Fold and I'm not looking back!
Honestly I want to see if/when the Apple Fold comes out. My Dad recently upgraded to the iPhone 15 Pro Max and gave me his iPhone 12 Pro Max. As a guy who hasn't used an iPhone since the iPhone 4S, it's been okay. Just some things I wish I could do like: have 5 icons in a row and putting music/movies is pretty frustrating. iTunes doesn't work for me so I had to hunt around and I finally found a program called CopyTrans that somewhat works. On the positive, the iPhone does feel/look premium & the I LOVE the haptic feedback/sounds. 📱📱❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I haven’t been with iPhone for almost 13 years since the 4s. Came back to the iPhone 15 pro max and I’m honestly blown away with it. I know it has some issues but I’m glad to have a change over android for a little.
My last iPhone was the iPhone 7 ;). Because it was not good enough anymore that iPhone 8 etc… Samsung was more fun with no bezels , better screen etc… But now, it was time for an iPhone after all thay years and i am happy with it. Great phone. Software is better then years ago but for software i prefer the S23 Ultra. IPhone max the best video camera.
My last new iPhone was the 6 plus. It bent on a roller coaster in my front pocket. Been with Samsung since. Have a 23 ultra as a backup to this different feeling 15 max
I wonder if the solution to solving the heat issue was slowing the phone down. Any way to check? I wouldn't be surprised. It is Winter in the northern hemisphere, so it doesn't hurt to have a space heater in your pocket. ;)
I wouldn't at all be surprised if they put a limit on the A17. I didn't have Instagram etc installed on the phone so it wasn't their first round of excuses!
on the Face ID thing , there is options in the settings to add mask option and a second face look with beard or hat etc, Face ID at least in my use gets it right 99.999% of the time with hat beard or not with mask , or in pitch dark.
What screen protector do you suggest and should I get a 30W or 20W charger adapter? From what read the pro max can do 27W charging, is that true? Is it that much faster in terms of charging with the 30W compared to the 20W?
100% the battery drain is coming from all the telemetry background usage. I found out how to toggle my on/off with my S20FE. Can still get about 5-6 hours worth of movies and YT before I see 60-70% battery life with telemetry off.
I’m upgrading from the iPhone 12 Pro and wondering which you’d recommend out of these 3 choices… Pixel 8 Pro vs iPhone 15 Pro Max vs Galaxy Z Fold5 (6 if released before I buy) Any input is appreciated. I’m gonna watch your other videos relating to those devices, as well as that best smartwatches review.
I don't think you should consider it an upgrade if you are going from top of the line iPhone to a top of the line Android or the other way around. Yes they are all phones with similar general functions but they are different in detailed functions. It would be as if you are upgrading from a sedan to a pickup or pickup to sedan. They are both vehicles but with very specific advantages or disadvantages that would be very noticeable depending on your needs. Now within the same genre you can upgrade, so your only upgrade there would have been the iPhone.
The only reason I got the iPhone 15 pro was for the Apple Log for video. I have no desire whatsoever to use my dslr anymore, there is so much headroom with exposure for all three cameras; I can vary my exposure by 3 stops and still get roughly the same end result. With the Blackmagic app I can also keep my file sizes small with H.265 encoding and record straight to camera even at 60fps.

Expect modem updates to come through for the major updates like .2 to .7. IPhone uses Qualcomm modems like Android phones for the most part but takes a while for them to use it well. Google uses Exynos modems which are just crap full stop. No amount of updating is resolving that deficiency to qualcomm.
@@msbloom6371It is of course...but if you have budget go for 15 pro max! Better phone for sure. If you want iphone...you'll not regret it. Truth is the phone industry doesn’t have much left to innovate on. The specs are good enough to handle anything people would want to do and the screens are incredible. Getting rid of the Dynamic Island or hole punch cameras are the next innovation but past that I don’t know what they can even do with phones other than software innovation.
Please discuss why most of the 15s batt health dropped 1 to 3% in just a month or two of using it. Got an iP15 PM when it was first released on Oct 20th, noticed batt health was at 99% Dec 11th. Saw discussions online and apparently a lot experienced the same thing.
@SiddyPReacts I don't think that's true. Updated mine to the latest IOS 17.2 on the day of public release. My battery health still dropped to 99% after 27 days from the purchase date. I don't even play a lot of games on this phone. :/
great review...i purchased the 15 pro max last November...this is my first pro model and my first max size...the pro model part seems fine to me...i do like the camera features but, i really do hate the size...it's not as heavy or brick like, lol. but i just can not get use to the size...i don't normally get a new iphone every year, i don't see a need to do so, but this year, i'm getting the 16 pro as soon as it comes out...i understand the screen may be a bit bigger, 6.3 as oppose to 6.1, but i'll take it...pro max users kept telling me i will get use to it, but i'm not...the weight is fine i just don't like the way in feels in my hand. believe it or not, i do TALK on my phone quite a bit and i am training myself to go without a phone case...it just does not feel as safe in my hands...the good thing is because of the price of it, i'll get a pretty good penny at the trade in, so i'm happy....great video as usual...thanks and keep them coming...
I'll probably get an iphone but I'm not sure.i had samsung for 7,8 years and honestly I'm afraid that my life would go south with this phone. Any suggestions?
No emulation for gaming on iphones hurt and it ultimately why i use android. I mean as a kid if you would've told me that i could play all wii and gamecube games on the phone in the future i wouldve called you crazy. It still mind-blowing that i could play my childhood games on the phone.

So many technical faults in this video. The camera notch in the screen. Do you have any idea why it exists? A small hint. It is for a secure face ID. Shure you can use a small camera and do face logins but it is not secure.
Hi there. I currently have a Samsung S21 with a windtre sim card, can I use 5he sim card in a IPhone Pro max. Love the shows keep up the great work. Many thanks Pete.😊
I kept having crash issues with the 13p/m and upgraded to 15p/m which has had no issues and is a sturdy phone. I get bored of phones and wanted to get a Samsung zfold 6 but not sure.
Hi, I’m looking at getting a new phone, although I like to game a lot I do need it for day to day use. Does the iPhone 15 pro max have stable fps when gaming? My iPhone 14 Pro still has fps stability issues since I got it and I’m hesitant to get another iPhone. I considered the RedMagic 8s Pro but not sure if that would be a better option over iPhone 15 Pro Max. Any help would be appreciated
Does it work well cause 17.3 on iPhone 14 Pro max is just as bad as the previous versions. My iPhone since upgraded to it keeps asking for sign in to the Apple ID. And when I do sign in it says my Ultra watch and iPhone are in London. Apple refuses to sort it out just advising to reinstall iOS or wait till the next update. Absolute joke. Been unstable since iOS 16 and they just can’t seem to get it right
Not sure why people buy iPhones now, as Android is so good. Android is easier to use especially when connecting to a PC or laptop and it offers more customizable features. iPhones are well-built, but other sellers such as Samsung, Sony and people like Red Magic offer superb quality and probably less money...a lot less money in the case of Red Magic.
Just works man. I have the 15 Pro Max and had the S23 Ultra (traded it in for a OnePlus Open), the S23U was nice but it basically sat on my desk after a few months of use especially being a runner/lifter and owning an Apple Watch (the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic I own is nice but sensors suck on it) it’s nice to have its little side kick. As for Redmagic and Sony, Sony is way more expensive and only has 2 years of OS updates, Redmagic might be cheaper but same deal, only 2 years or so of software updates.
I've owned a lot of different brands over the past 2 years, including Galaxy Notes, Folds, Xiaomi, OnePluses, RedMagic 8 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max so I'm in the perfect position to say this... The RedMagic is easily the quickest phone I can recommend against purely due its awful OS. I had to sell my 8 Pro only for this reason. The reason people still buy iPhone is because iOS just feels so polished.
@@Ikram232 I rather like the Red Magic OS on my 8s pro. I think it very straightforward to use although it does seem to have the odd gremlin, but the iPhone13 pro max I had, had loads of gremlins. Apple have, for years, had very poor software in my opinion and iTunes is downright prehistoric. I'm not sure I would go back to iOS, Android is so good now, especially the last couple of iterations. The Red Magic 8s pro is very close to being a perfect phone in my opinion and it's half the price of the nearest equivalent, the Samsung S23 Ultra. It could do with a better camera, although the main camera is perfectly good enough for my use and waterproofing would also be nice, but for the money it's brilliant.
@@BruceLeeRoy26 I did have a Fold4 which was good, but it needed repair so I bought a Red Magic 8s pro, and I'm very impressed with it. I sold the Fold4 after it was repaired for just a bit less than the Red Magic cost so I'm very happy. iPhones do integrate well with other Apple kit which is nice, but they are a pain with other hardware such as PC's and Apple seem to restrict their Bluetooth connectivity as well. I don't think Apple likes Microsoft.

Having come from the 12 pro max this is so fast , into 2nd day and not had to charge it yet, my 12 would be at 30% after 6 hours from charge, weather so bad in uk not had chance to test the camera fully yet. Heat only on transfer day from my old iPhone 12 Pro Max , Much smaller in pocket now even fits in my car consul tray now. Only things I hate is the same in most of my iPhones, the menus don’t go back or emails still open in the email I was reading earlier that day, when you close your apps it should not remember but it does . Colours was a bit poor I admit but doesn’t matter when it’s in a case, I like a slow charge keeps battery healthy
I literally only bought this phone because my base iphone 12's battery was emptying really fast and it's honestly one of the most boring "newest" iPhone for me as of now. The camera and ui is nicer but like that's it 💀
I’m out of contract now so it’s new phone time! My current is a pro but comparing its size to my mates 15 pro max it’s not much bigger 🤷🏻♂ but overall phones have gotten too big so it’s all relative. Finally, somebody says the truth about that ugly useless dynamic island that takes a huge amount of screen. Apple needs to ditch face id and put a fingerprint under the screen.
@G48Comb if it means having the ugly notch, yes absolutely. It's hard to use a phone that has something like that if youve used a really premium looking uninterrupted display like an s23 ultra. Other than that, iphone is amazing. I hate the notch, but everything else I enjoy more on iphone.
One of the best cameras best batterylife best prosessor best display best updatecycle best support most optimized apps smoothest how would that not be a flagship? Dont you know what a flagship is? Its their best product..

I couldn’t agree more. Great review! 😊

I'd say this is a perfect state of 12 Pro Max. 11 Pro Max is different though. Definitely not worth replacing for most 13/14 owners.

Plenty more to come !

What problems? I’ve had my 15 pro max sense relese date and never experienced any problems and it’s been the best phone I’ve ever had!
Hadvthe same problem with data roaming. Changed back to my samsung and it worked perfectly
I got the 15 Pro Max on release date and returned it the week after because it was way too similar to my 13 Pro Max. Genuinely disappointing upgrade. So disappointing, I went and bought a Z Fold and I'm not looking back!
There all the same tbh minimal upgrades each year it’s only worth upgrading every 4 years to feel a tiny bit of a change
Most people’s dream phone of the year.
what did you have prior to the iphone ?
@@Read_Heat_ one plus 9 5g. Absolutely hated it. Reason I wanted to make the switch and have a change for once.
It is Winter in the northern hemisphere, so it doesn't hurt to have a space heater in your pocket. ;)
There is no heating at all🤷♂️
I wouldn't at all be surprised if they put a limit on the A17. I didn't have Instagram etc installed on the phone so it wasn't their first round of excuses!
They didn't slow it down at all.
I have no problem with the iPhone. Batterylife is great.
I’ve seen plenty of before and after benchmarks. If anything it got slightly faster.
on the Face ID thing , there is options in the settings to add mask option and a second face look with beard or hat etc, Face ID at least in my use gets it right 99.999% of the time with hat beard or not with mask , or in pitch dark.
Yeah it’s deffo user error.
I’m upgrading from the iPhone 12 Pro and wondering which you’d recommend out of these 3 choices…
Pixel 8 Pro vs iPhone 15 Pro Max vs Galaxy Z Fold5 (6 if released before I buy)
Any input is appreciated. I’m gonna watch your other videos relating to those devices, as well as that best smartwatches review.
Stay with the iPhone. If you go with any of the others you will be wishing you went IPhone after the first 2 weeks
@@jasonmiller9495 That’s the gut feeling I’ve developed. Thanks.

An honest iphone review 😂👏🏾
Does it work well cause
17.3 on iPhone 14 Pro max is just as bad as the previous versions.
Heat only on transfer day from my old iPhone 12 Pro Max ,
Much smaller in pocket now even fits in my car consul tray now.
Only things I hate is the same in most of my iPhones, the menus don’t go back or emails still open in the email I was reading earlier that day, when you close your apps it should not remember but it does .
