It has gotten to the point a few videos ago now that the moment I see the notification, I click and watch. You are one of 3 channels I do that with. Thank you for all your work and efforts. And congratulations on all your milestones this year. Here is to the continued success of Mr Mobile.
That voice isolation is insane. I activated it when I was stood in the doorway to a noisy arcade and my partner said all noises turned off apart from me. So cool.
Being a former Windows Phone user, the occasional situation where app makers don't implement iOS features is like a little reminder that it doesn't matter how dominate you are they can still not see the value in implementing something special for one platform.
One of the most well balanced reviews out there. You laid out the pros and the cons perfectly while also giving your personal opinion without stating it as fact. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to your Pixel 8 Review.
Pro Tip for the notification management: For all apps (or at least the apps you get the most notifications), go into the notification settings for that app in the iOS settings app and instead of having notification grouping set to automatic, try “by app” so that all the notifications for that app stay clumped together by an app by app basis instead of “automatically”
4:11 YES! I must admit "voice isolation" is fantastic. I actually had to take a break from this video to call my bank, and my son accidentally cranked the TV 100. I quickly apologized to the banker, explained what happened, and her response to me was "Really?? Well I didn't hear a thing on my end.". Color me impressed, because I am.
I've been following your content since 2014 when you were with Pocketnow. Every now and then, I revisit those videos, which always bring back a wave of nostalgia. I distinctly recall a moment in 2015 when one of your videos was uploaded during the early hours of the morning in my country, around 3-4 AM. The notification woke me up, and I couldn't resist commenting something along the lines of "Hey Michael! You woke me up!" You responded with something I can't quite recall, but what I do remember is the excitement I felt. I eagerly shared the interaction with my family and all my friends at school. If my memory serves me right, you used to sign off your responses with ^M indicating that it was indeed you replying. Those were the days, man! I was a tech nerd kid with Android rooting and flashing custom roms and stuff. Nowdays I'm an iPhone user and have grown out of that "nerdiness" but never grew out of watching your videos !! Love, respect and kindest regards from Tbilisi, Georgia (country) ! 🇬🇪
Sticking with iPhone 13 mini for now, i hope apple releases iPhone 17 mini in 2 years with minimal specs and updated soc for people like me who loves a small iPhone.
I genuinely think you may make the best reviews on TH-cam. I just love the perspective, the sharp writing and pacing, and the theme around each review. Keep up the fantastic work, Michael. The 15 Pro Max looks like a great all-round dependable phone. I prefer Android, but completely see why so many people love iPhones.
Something I'd love to see you and other reviewers cover in more detail is how well the max brightness of the screen holds up in high temperature conditions. Too often have I found devices, across all vendors, that boast perfectly readable brightness on the spec sheet and in direct light testing, yet once these devices are used in more real life conditions, where the sun heats them up for hours on end, those thousands of nits go into the low hundreds, even when the SOC isn't taxed. Case in point, my Fold 3 was unreadable, nay, unusable in the September sun of southern Spain.
That's a thing I do cover, when it happens. You'll notice I was out on the beach with the 15 Pro Max on a very sunny day, shooting almost non-stop for over an hour. Phone did just fine (except for the camera bug I reported, which I don't believe was related to thermals since the phone didn't heat up). Sometimes there are oversights in my testing, or test notes are cut for time, but that's not something I would omit. Generally speaking: if it's not mentioned, it didn't happen/wasn't relevant.
seconded. And I'd be interested in the generational improvements (if any) seen in terms of heat dissipation. Newer stuff seems to overheat and shut down faster than before.
As an android person I dont mind the iphone being the one most people choose, but way too often android is considered the "poor people" choice because of green bubbles. It definitely makes me a bit resentful of apple.
@@smguk2412 I knew it was better in the rest of the world but phone culture was so much less toxic in Germany while I lived there. Makes America feel very silly, amongst numerous other things😂
Gotta admit here in the States we care way too much for this nonsense silly stuff like what phone brand you use, sad but true. I wish we could stop being classified by the brand of smartphone we use or any other product-accesorie.
In the UK we do not care about such stuff as green bubbles. I use WhatsApp or Messenger for my Android friends and family. It has never been an issue. I cannot understand why it is a problem in the US?
As a professional user this phone has been a godsend. I’m a contractor so I drive from house to house all day constantly on gps, and then I have to communicate constantly with back-end employees, and the battery has been consistently lasting the entire work day. The extra brightness is perfect as most of my work is outside. The action button has served me immensely as well for just how customizable it is with Siri Shortcuts. I’ve configured it to send emails to specific people I communicate with regularly, open common tools I use on my phone, as well as I’ve programmed in a clock-in and out feature where when I get to our warehouse in the morning it automatically sets a variable as the current time, then at the end of the day I use the action button to clock out and it record everything automatically into a spreadsheet that compiles all my data into easy to digest graphs.
I was a diehard Android guy because of the amount of inflexibility Apple had in the past. But new additions like shortcuts, wallpaper customization from ios 16, and other user-focused features have made me fall in love with the iPhone. Now I can genuinely say that there are many great phones out there, and to shun a phone based on brand is simply foolish.
@@TheMrMobile I'm very glad they're headed in the right direction. I'm staying with apple for now, but those foldables you keep showing off look so exciting...
Yeah, I used to root and install nightlies and all that jazz. Had every Nexus and Pixel phone up through the 6 Pro. Switched to a 14PM last year and I can't see myself going back, especially now that iOS 17 has addressed so many pain points for me. Google just... I don't trust them to really care about or invest in their products. Every year Apple says "it's the best iPhone we've ever made" and everybody laughs, but most years google manages to take a significant step back in one direction or the other and it really just got too frustrating for me. The 8 series does look good though; hopefully things are improving over there!
There are 2 types of people: the ones who customize anything and everything and the one who just gonna use the stock UI and call it a day. I think I'm the latter. I have both the S23 and the 15 Pro max and I barely customize anything except the mute switch to shut them up.
I carry both the Pixel 7 and iPhone 13 Pro as I've started off on Android since the Motorola Droid but do appreciate what the iOS ecosystem offers (esp with media where everything is easily accessible and backed up). If Google gives me a good trade in offer for the Pixel 7 then I may upgrade it to the Pixel 8 Pro (I had the Pixel 6 Pro but that thing got hot enough to burn out the wifi chip and render mobile data intermittent and was lucky Google still gave me a full trade in price for that making my Pixel 7 very very cheap).
By far the strongest mobile reviewer on TH-cam at this point. Unbiased and thorough with style and panache. Been a subscriber since back in the PocketNow days and I always look forward to your next video.
Regarding the phone making the just connected charging sound while being docked on a wireless charger for hours… It’s the optimized charging in effect. When the phone is on a wireless charger for awhile, it will periodically pause charging, either at 80% if it thinks the device wont be in use for awhile, or when it hits the 100% mark. Once it starts charging again, it’ll make that just connected charging sound again even though it had technically never been disconnected. Took me awhile to figure this out as well.
IMO you’re the best TH-camr doing reviews on smartphones. I can trust you, Apple isn’t on your dinner plate. We all know Apple makes a good phone, but the world is much bigger than that and you help us see that. Keep up the great work.
I’ll always love your videos for just how balanced they are. Informative with some stellar real world examples and shots. I’m one of the folks you mention in the beginning - as I’ve gotten older my phone has become more and more of an appliance that I just need to work when I pick it up. Sure iOS can be considered “boring” by most, but it’s that “boring” that I love and need as I find that I spend less time tweaking my phone to get it “just right” and more time using my phone as a phone. I love Android just as equally when the tinkerer in me gets that itch. Thank you again for all your videos Mr.Mobile, I’m sticking around through the end of the year and beyond as long as you’re uploading!
That is very well said. With time I've found out I don't have the right patience anymore to tweak every detail of my phone. I just need it to always work when I have to do something. The iPhone excells at that.
Hands down does the best videos. Being a primarily android user but being able to stay objective and give credit when do is the main reason I watch your videos.
Shut down and set aside my S23 Ultra for the next few months and I have been using the 15 Pro Max, after the 17.1 beta update, it’s been great, no overheating (never had any tbh) and the battery seems to be better than the 14 Pro Max I had.
@Cre8Peace I wish you luck; unfortunately my experience with the Pixel 6 Pro last year has turned me away from Pixels for a while. Hopefully it’s a great phone for you 🙏🏽
Titanium Alloys are embrittled by Cadmium and Silver. I wonder how this will affect long term usage as the band comes into contact with these materials through everyday usage
@@TheMrMobile Great point about the cases! As an unqualified YT commenter (no material engineer here) the cadmium may be less of an issue. While silver jewelry and tableware come to mind as common items! Perhaps these would be an edge case, but time will only tell I suppose edited for grammer
Accurate about the eSIM. I regularly switch between eSIM and regular sim on different carriers (Verizon and AT&T with iPhone 15 Pro Max / S23 Ultra and iPhone 13). It's never as easy on the iPhone, unless you're doing an eSIM in AT&T (because they tend to think they only need to support iPhones when it comes to eSIM). Then, of course, AT&T will randomly lock a phone swap for "security purposes" if you sometimes don't reply to the transfer text verification quickly enough. Sort of like how you've described the iOS Home screen and the autocorrect, I feel like Apple goes way too far in trying to coach the user into what they want. Making things this "easy" does not help people in the long run. Just by watching your videos, I can tell that you get the absolute most out of your devices and I find myself going back to check out a feature I missed.
The fact that you can take the iPhone out of your pocket, open the camera app and take a shot instantly and still get the result you're expecting to get (no matter the app you're in), it0s why regular people loves iPhone's so much. It's the same feeling I got with my Pixel 4XL and 3 when I had them, it's just the consistency on the final result that makes you feel happy with the cameras on those phones no matter the megapixels, extragimmicks and so on.
Exact opposite experience for me. Yes iPhones are consistent when it comes to their camera but they were consistently subpar for many years, even last gen was just okay. This year may be different, but my S23 Ultra just seems to offer a better package still
Definitely not unsubscribing. Mr. Fisher you are arguably the most balanced reviewer out there. I thoroughly enjoyed your review and I say that as a guy who is Sammy through n through. 🙏🏽
I'll be honest, the battery has been insane after the most recent update. I moved from the 13 Pro Max to the 15 Pro Max because it was free; the USB C and the change in weight was the main reason. Really surprised how noticeable the difference in weight is.
How are you finding the 15 PM versus 13 PM battery life? The 13 PM I have is a battery king, but my partner said the 14 didn't hold up, so I'm worried about switching
Thanks again Michael for this review. For years you’ve become my GO TO tech reviewer. And no worries, I have no thoughts of changing that anytime soon. :)
Not a fan of apple products because of critical usage choices but you are the place i go to to learn about apple products to help my friends and others with any issues they may have with their apple products as far as features they may not understand and so on.
Using a pixel 7 pro, I feel the same way as you, I appreciate the ecosystem and the flawless features and things like airdrop. But at the end of the day I still don't think I'm ready to be able to customise my home screen, app drawer and lock screen, or give up my pixels voice recorder that makes an instant transcript of my lectures and meetings so I don't need to take notes or its at a glance which automatically sees I have a grocery delivery coming from Walmart at a specific time or to remind me its raining before I leave the house so I carry my umbrella. Do I have gripes, absolutely. The battery is mediocre at best, some apps just run better on iOS and even though it can take as good or better photos than the 15 pro max, it can't hold a candle in video especially indoors. Even though I'm not switching as my wear os and google pixel buds pro and phone ecosystem is going great. I hope that Google actually starts improving the hardware, battery and chip in tensor /pixels otherwise I'll be in line to buy my first iPhone since I switched from the iPhone 6 to a OnePlus 3t. As always you are my favourite reviewers since the pocket now days of the original moto x or nexus devices. Keep up the good work Michael
Just switched from p6p to 15 pro max. iOS does the “at a glance” things just as well as Android in my experience so far, at least if you give Siri access to your calendar and have it sync with Google Calendar. Sometimes it even does a better job automatically creating events for me. Sometimes worse. In both cases not big enough to be a notable improvement or hindrance. I wouldn’t be surprised if voice transcription isn’t far off either. There’s live captioning which works as well as on Android, both for sounds from the device like when watching videos and from the microphone, and you can get voice transcriptions of audio messages you get in iMessage too. Honestly the biggest thing I’m still struggling to adjust to is the keyboard and text editing. Oh, and I definitely miss those frogs.
I also wish Apple would do something unique with their iPhones (we know they can innovate, look at the Vision Pro), but the devices are just so effortless, good and good-looking that I can give them a pass for the lack of creativity.
I’m an iPhone guy myself but I absolutely see the benefits of other platforms. Each side has their respective advantages in hardware and software so thank you for bringing an objective viewpoint to your reviews. I’m not the first to say it and I know I won’t be the last!
It's the same thing every time. A refined classy experience that gives you exactly what you expect first time every time. Tbh not much of a fan of the ungodly amount customization that android provides and really isn't necessary. I do admit that diversity of features and innovation is important. ... Aaand just like every other apple fan, I love the ecosystem/walled garden. I have the phone, laptop, watch, and earbuds, and they all work seamlessly with one another. Reminders I set on my phone go off on my watch. I can switch my AirPods and music to any device I want without having to turn them off.
I love my iPhone. At least most of the things about it. But changing icons on my home screen SUCKS BIG TIME!!!! Does anyone here remember back when you could kind of design your screen and place your icons wherever you wanted via iTunes on your computer? They need to bring that back, at the very least! Every time I try to rearrange icons on my home screen, it is an unmitigated disaster! The icons seem to have a mind of their own and literally end up anywhere and everywhere except where I want them! This is frustrating to say the least! Thank you for continuing to point this out, Michael! And thanks as always for another fantastic Mr. Mobile video!!! Cheers to you and all your subscribers!
I'm sat watching this genuinely contemplating going back to Apple after 5 years on android. Still undecided but as I look at trade in prices for my pixel 7 one thing that rarely gets mentioned is how the iPhone holds its value so well compared to other devices.
Up until the 13-series (when Apple introduced the 120hz display to the iPhone), I was the type to upgrade my phone every year. After the 13 Pro Max though…I haven’t felt compelled to upgrade at all. Can’t really say this 15-series is scratching that particular itch either. It’s also not a “well, not upgrading saves you money, so that’s good!” situation either - for the plan I have, being on the Apple Upgrade Program isn’t markedly more expensive than just being on T-Mobile and paying a phone off monthly lol. I should note I’ve held onto my iPad Pro 2018 for…going on 5 years now! The 120hz/ProMotion display keeps these things feeling a lot more fresh than they have any right to be. 5 years is an absolute eternity in the tech world. 0:56 Imagine how much nicer that screencap would have looked in Apollo :(
5 years is not an eternity even in Tech Industry. You're being hit by Tech Fatigue, that's what happens to most of us and also because of tech saturation. I'm also holding onto my 7 year old s7 edge as my secondary phone still rocking the original battery, providing 3-4 hrs of SOT.
@@Arts11234 I’m not sure who you’re trying to fool, 5 years is absolutely a long time in the tech industry. When my iPad released, the Galaxy Fold line DID NOT EVEN EXIST. You said: “5 years is not an eternity, **even** in the tech industry.” It honestly seems like you didn’t even understand my comment in the first place. Of course 5 years is not a long time outside of the tech industry. The point is, WITHIN the tech world, it is.
@@I_enjoy_some_things what tech did excite you in last 5 years? Smartphone all look and function same except folding phones but they have average camera for their high price. Smartwatches? No new mind blowing features except the 6 years ago Garmin made vivomove luxe with the screen hidden behind the analog watch face. CPUs/GPUs overpriced to the neck and every other newgame release requires 3080x/4070x as the minimum requirements. Video Games :- hardly worth the money they are asking for a sub par game except a few good releases. Projectors/TVs :- there hardly any good passive 3d projector available even after all these years, new TVs release with just new deep colors that my 3 year old s20 can produce better than them(I know it's way too harder to make a good large screen). Niche products :- like upgradable laptops, automatic floor cleaners their novelty dies within a few years and then we are back to old methods that worked best. This is why new tech products Don't excite me as I've seen a logarithmic changes in this field(I'm 65 years old) but the new changes are just really small increment like your salary, gone are the days when a year we had to use phone with keyboards and suddenly Apple brings a much more polished touchscreen smartphones or the camera quality jump in just an year in smartphones. I understood your point but couldn't articulate it properly but I still stand my statement 5 years is not an eternity now-a-days.
If only they were somewhat available. My carrier says the expected delivery for new orders is mid DECEMBER. During preorder week I sat on the fence between the pro and the max. Battery tests online make me regret not going for the max.
Ah finally someone talking about the bugs I was an Iphone user for a decade and switched over to OnePlus+Pixel last 2 years And honestly the reason was constant bugs ever since iOS 14 or so iOS is just not as stable as it used to be coz now they are cramming in customization features which Apple is new to While on Android side, an opposite effect is taking place since they've been doing the customization stuff for a while now and are hyper focused on a vertical integration past 2 iterations of it. So happy to see some reviewer touch on this fact
Good video, although I definitely disagree with the statement about Airpods Pro letting in background noise during calls. This has not been my experience at all, and I have just recently come over to Airpods and Apple in general from Samsung and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. Although I still really like the Galaxy Buds, the Airpods Pro 2 are hands down the best.
I've gotten those mid-charge chimes too. But usually get it when my phone is charged past 80%. So my guess is that the iPhone stops and starts the charging periodically after the 80% limit.
iPhone 15 Pro Max, Pixel 8 Pro, Galaxy S23 Ultra and Z Fold 5 would become the best I had ever seen in tech for years. A decade since the days of iPhone 5 and Nexus when the innovative spirit ran high. Now we're coming into a new era of that innovative spirit of the smartphone boom.
Another great review that provided an in depth look at what is a good device for 80% of folks out there who just want a phone with a nice camera... As the Robot in a house of Fruit, see the differences all the time. This was a great, unbiased review. Thanks again! Can't wait to see what you have next for us.
Don't understand how everyone seems to have missed but even iPhone12 with iOS 16 has the 'voice isolation' feature on normal calls. Dont know what's the fuss about !
Starting a hot-spot from the computer... is something I have natively on my Windows Surface. Do Apple users think it is an exclusivity??? Taking the phone as... webcam... Is the webcam so bad on Apple Mac???
“The ecosystem is a massive part of the iPhone’s value.” So true. And I’m stuck in it along with my entire family. There are worse places to be stuck, but few more expensive.
Really love that this review while by someone who’s hardcore into android and won’t change to iPhone anytime soon, isn’t hateful on the iPhone This video is both critical of the iPhones very obvious flaws while not mindlessly hating it, both acknowledging it’s flaws and talking about the new and interesting parts of it. Good job Mr. Mobile
Kudos my man! I really enjoy your objective tone on this review and I also share the nostalgia and passion for retro tech so I can totally relate to what you said about tech innovation. it seems that tech progress has really slowed down in recent years and it’s been a long time since last time I felt excited by a revolution gadget. anyway, another nice video. keep them coming🎉
I've been with Android for a decade already and I appreciate the features and customizations. However, apps crashing, freezing and bloatwares are prevalent throughout. I've had enough and I'm switching to iPhone for the 1st time to see 1st hand how it compares against Android.
the only reasons id not switch to an iphone at this point is the notifications, esim/ecosystem lock in and how annoying it is to sideload apps (plus worse apps for my use case (a lot of foss clients for selfhosted services)
You can group notifications by apps in settings so that is not an issue. Like many things there are ways and options, but non-iPhone reviewers maybe are not the best to post negative comments as they can miss the obvious.
switched last year from Android to Apple. Honestly, I was just bored with Android and wanted to try something new. I miss the customization that comes with Android but theres something nice about an app just working on Apple and never having to worry about compatability issues like you do with the millions of different Android phones.
That webcam trick is really neat, but I think you give the masses too much credit as to why the iPhone is popular. It's a status symbol, a fashion accessory, even back when I was in college circa 2012 teens were clearly exhibiting this in a way that no Android manufacturer has been able to capture. How it got there is probably a mix of riding on the heels of the iPod's popularity and market domination, being one of the early entries of smart phones, and Apple's very capable marketing. I'm sure the corporate pivot from Blackberry to iPhone hasn't hurt things either. At this point the iPhone could straight up suck for multiple generations before it hemorrhaged enough reputation to lose the status it currently enjoys, whilst iteration is certainly appreciated by some, the average iPhone buyer likely doesn't care about anything but it being an iPhone and maybe, just maybe, how much has changed from the one they currently have.
Hey Michael, just wanted to say another great review but photo sharing while using my pixel is even easier than airdrop as you may may not know. Once you tag someone's face in a photo, you can share that person's album with them and they automatically get every picture you've taken of them and every picture you'll take with them in the future. My family is still amazed that their photos just pop into their phones when I take it
@@lhk7006it's not a Pixel exclusive feature, or even an Android exclusive. It's just a feature in Google Photos. Once you've assigned a name to a face, you have the option of sharing new photos with that face with selected Google Photos users. iPhone users can do this too
No unsubscribing here, Mr. Mobile 😊 Always been one of the best when it comes to unbiased phone reviews, points presented point out the real reasons the iPhone is still winning customers today. It's all about that ecosystem. Cheers for the great review 🎉
iOS notifications are bad by default but are highly customizable, you need to go to notification settings and set the grouping on all of them to “By App”, which will create one stack of notifications per app instead of multiple like we can see Instagram doing at 6:39
continuity/handoff, the sole reason I will not switch so easily between iOS and android. The seamless way a macbook and an iphone next to it interact is amazing. Otherwise I would be flip-flopping between android and iOS
eSIM isn't an iPhone thing: it's a modem thing, and it's here to stay I'm afraid. Physicals SIMs are absolutely on the way out. Signed, a firmware engineer who works in the 4G/5G (and satellite) modem space
I read about how much e-waste SIM cards cause, which is appalling. When Apple does something right, even the people who claim Apple is not e-friendly suddenly, because it affects them, claim Apple is wrong. We should be rushing to end SIM cards, not prevaricating. But I do understand that getting carriers to make it seamless is annoying, but someone has to make the first step on any journey.

How are you into cool and retro tech but not into mechanical watches? They're beautiful pieces of engineering. And yes, my phone is a once in 4 year necessity. Just really need to it to be reliable and work in a fuss free manner when I need it to. I grew up in a PC and linux first environment, so using a simple iPhone for everyday use is something I enjoy the experience of tbh.
For me the difference between retro tech and mechanical watches is that retro tech is always very weird and often very much of it's time. So it's fun to see how we all used to live and revisit that experience. It's basically nostalgia. Mechanical watches just don't do that for me. They're pretty, but don't do much beyond a few basic features. They just aren't exciting in any way. They've been the same for a very long time.
I found out in US apps there's way more support of it but in EU apps live activities is one of the most criminally underused features on iOS and it drives me insane
Every once in a while I think about switching to an iPhone mainly for Face ID as my fingerprints never seem to work with any fingerprint sensor. However, I really prefer the gestures on android.
Try the Face Unlock on the Pixel 7 Pro then, it is ridiculously good. And with the 8 and 8 Pro, it has been upgraded to the same tier of security as Fingerprint biometrics and so can be used for apps such as banking apps etc.
Agreed I own iPhone & pixel & i hate when I get stuck on my keyboard on the iPhone because I can’t swipe left or anything just leave the app but the pixel you just press swipe and go back.
I like the fact you talk about the flaws and opinions, while showing comparisons and other options. It helps me to put things into a more full comparison between Android and iOS.
I'd love to know if Apple have started playing better with 3rd party items(eg; garmin). Have heard in the past it wasn't as good as Android unless the item was specifically designed for iPhone.
7:35 when this black camera happens its because it cant find a reliable location if you have location data enabled, so the camera waits. to fix this, put the phone into airplane mode, so the camera will be just fine. or just turn airplane on and off. lovely bug ever since i started using iphone 5 in 2012 with ios 6
I was able to upgrade from a 13 pro max to 15 pro max and....tbh its just ok. The dynamic island is pretty cool and i love having usb c like the rest of my devices. However, the action button actually causes more problems for me cuz my brain hasnt adjusted to it being a button istead of a switch. Admittedly ive been enjoying my pixel 8 pro much more. Im happy with both, but for different reasons
The good thing about the 15 PM being good is that it will hopefully push competing brands like Samsung in the right direction, so they don't rest on their achievements.
Samsung is so complacent honestly. They also treat their customers poorly with ads and pre-installed garbage. If they improved that, then maybe it could be a sign of good faith - but they won't.

I’ve been an iPhone user on and off since iPhones were a thing, and my biggest bugbear is iPhone playing the notification sounds in my ear while I’m on a call. I do NOT want a WhatsApp/Ring/whatever jingle in my ear at 80db while I’m talking to someone. Even my old Nokias of the 90s muted notifications during calls automatically. That said, my iPhone is basically always muted now because of that, and because Apple Watch.
I think the mute button was why Apple had that. So when in a call just mute using the switch (now button) and you will get no notifications. Turn the mute switch back off after the call. It is easy.

The fact that you *have* to do this manually is annoying, but at least it's possible.
That’s what I do. 👍🏼
So wholesome. Reading this comment at the wee hours of my country too, haha.
Sticking with iPhone 13 mini for now, i hope apple releases iPhone 17 mini in 2 years with minimal specs and updated soc for people like me who loves a small iPhone.
@@sunandksI want an iPhone pro mini with twice the thickness for more battery life
I genuinely think you may make the best reviews on TH-cam. I just love the perspective, the sharp writing and pacing, and the theme around each review. Keep up the fantastic work, Michael. The 15 Pro Max looks like a great all-round dependable phone. I prefer Android, but completely see why so many people love iPhones.
Apple ecosystem. Thats why I use an iPhone,
No one writes like you. The alliteration and wordplay is unmatched. Your videos are fun and informative
Big companies: Just don’t use the device under the sun 😂
That's a thing I do cover, when it happens. You'll notice I was out on the beach with the 15 Pro Max on a very sunny day, shooting almost non-stop for over an hour. Phone did just fine (except for the camera bug I reported, which I don't believe was related to thermals since the phone didn't heat up).
Sometimes there are oversights in my testing, or test notes are cut for time, but that's not something I would omit. Generally speaking: if it's not mentioned, it didn't happen/wasn't relevant.
@@TheMrMobile Thanks, that's great to hear. Appreciate the great content as always.
seconded. And I'd be interested in the generational improvements (if any) seen in terms of heat dissipation. Newer stuff seems to overheat and shut down faster than before.
And battery impact. Especially on those new *bright* Pixels. :)
As an android person I dont mind the iphone being the one most people choose, but way too often android is considered the "poor people" choice because of green bubbles. It definitely makes me a bit resentful of apple.
Yep. The damage that iMessage has done to phone discourse is immeasurable.
Maybe in America the rest of the world doesn't give a shit
Have a drink every time he says “my girlfriend”
Imagine the hangover if you did..
Wisdom right here. I still prefer Android, but Apple has made large strides in customization over the past three or four years.
Been a subscriber since back in the PocketNow days and I always look forward to your next video.
you should google the definition of the word "unbiased".
Always love your perspective even after a decade of following you. Keep up the great work!!
That make sense. I do have a iPhone 13 even tho I use androids more and I do notice that when optimized charging is on.
Yes, as soon as he mentioned that I knew what it was as I have the Pixel Tablet that does exactly the same thing on its wireless dock!
Didn't know that - but how much cadium and silver am I coming into contact with on a daily basis? (Also, obligatory "most people put it in a case")
@@TheMrMobile Great point about the cases! As an unqualified YT commenter (no material engineer here) the cadmium may be less of an issue. While silver jewelry and tableware come to mind as common items! Perhaps these would be an edge case, but time will only tell I suppose

I love the way you described what iPhones are in the US, especially if you are a person of means. It was very well said.
You are one of the honest reviewers out there.Thank you.
it's crazy I've been watching you since the pocketnow days. your longevity is well deserved
Predictable, pragmatic, progression... Perfect description of my tech as someone who uses devices until they break .
Michael's videos are hands down so brilliantly made. Always a joy to watch his take on tech! Kudos to you man!
This year may be different, but my S23 Ultra just seems to offer a better package still
lol this BS still flies today? Not arguing that the iPhone don't do it but most flagship most of the time do it as well.
@@exempli646Apple's color science is more visually pleasing to a lot of people as well. And video is still the iPhone's forte.

I am NEVER getting an iPhone, but I really like and appreciate the review. you give everyone and every phone a great review and show the pro and con's
Yet ANOTHER fantastic video from the master presenter, Mr Mobile !
Enjoy the honesty, that’s why I keep watching! Keep up the good work and looking forward to the new pixel review friend

Your production, script, and voice are always so so good. My comfort videos! Incredible job! I LOVE your videos :)
You said: “5 years is not an eternity, **even** in the tech industry.”
It honestly seems like you didn’t even understand my comment in the first place.
Respect the honesty more than anything so thank you, well done and also well done to Apple too I suppose 👏
Ah finally someone talking about the bugs
I was an Iphone user for a decade and switched over to OnePlus+Pixel last 2 years
And honestly the reason was constant bugs ever since iOS 14 or so
iOS is just not as stable as it used to be coz now they are cramming in customization features which Apple is new to
While on Android side, an opposite effect is taking place since they've been doing the customization stuff for a while now and are hyper focused on a vertical integration past 2 iterations of it.
So happy to see some reviewer touch on this fact
It's amazing watching so many tech reviewers reviewing an iPhone 14 like it's a brand new device
The Software Problems seem to relate to iOS 17, cause i notice a lot of those Problems on my 13 mini and 13 pro too 😢
I hope Apple fixes IT very soon
I've gotten those mid-charge chimes too. But usually get it when my phone is charged past 80%. So my guess is that the iPhone stops and starts the charging periodically after the 80% limit.
This guys old school wordsmithery is the reason I love his reviews
iPhone 15 Pro Max, Pixel 8 Pro, Galaxy S23 Ultra and Z Fold 5 would become the best I had ever seen in tech for years. A decade since the days of iPhone 5 and Nexus when the innovative spirit ran high. Now we're coming into a new era of that innovative spirit of the smartphone boom.
Another great review that provided an in depth look at what is a good device for 80% of folks out there who just want a phone with a nice camera...

Mr Mobile, been watching you for years! Let’s make Blackberry great again! Whooo
“The ecosystem is a massive part of the iPhone’s value.”
So true. And I’m stuck in it along with my entire family. There are worse places to be stuck, but few more expensive.
Really love that this review while by someone who’s hardcore into android and won’t change to iPhone anytime soon, isn’t hateful on the iPhone
This video is both critical of the iPhones very obvious flaws while not mindlessly hating it, both acknowledging it’s flaws and talking about the new and interesting parts of it.

Predictable pragmatic progression should have been the title IMO - great choice of words!
Anyone that unfollows you cause you said something positive about the iPhone has issues. You’re honest and fair with all the reviews I’ve seen.
Weirdly enough out of the reviews of the iPhone 15 Pro I've seen, yours has made me want one the most?!
the only reasons id not switch to an iphone at this point is the notifications, esim/ecosystem lock in and how annoying it is to sideload apps (plus worse apps for my use case (a lot of foss clients for selfhosted services)
That's so true, US is all about the iPhone. Everybody is using an iPhone. It's very reasonably priced as well at least in the US.
Well, someone is enjoying their lovey-dovey phase 😉
I really enjoy your work, Michael. Been a fan for a long time! Thank you!
I'm too poor to afford a new phone, but I always enjoy watching Mr Mobile's reviews.
Brilliant review , as always!
Hey Michael, just wanted to say another great review but photo sharing while using my pixel is even easier than airdrop as you may may not know. Once you tag someone's face in a photo, you can share that person's album with them and they automatically get every picture you've taken of them and every picture you'll take with them in the future. My family is still amazed that their photos just pop into their phones when I take it
Do they do that based on the contact photo because that's actually brilliant.
@@lhk7006it's not a Pixel exclusive feature, or even an Android exclusive. It's just a feature in Google Photos. Once you've assigned a name to a face, you have the option of sharing new photos with that face with selected Google Photos users. iPhone users can do this too
Iphone will get that feature in a few years in fact they will invent it
This feature exists already, iCloud photo album sharing

As always, your videos are like ASMR to me 😅
what I like most is that Michael's content resembles old school documentary style videos. A lot of other channels have become overstimulating
Michael is a great wordsmith and very articulate.
Write script, get thesaurus, done
I like the fact you talk about the flaws and opinions, while showing comparisons and other options. It helps me to put things into a more full comparison between Android and iOS.
I'd love to know if Apple have started playing better with 3rd party items(eg; garmin).
Have heard in the past it wasn't as good as Android unless the item was specifically designed for iPhone.
Top tip. If ever you need an ambulance, don't get Michael Fisher to call you one. You'll get a fire engine.
Toaster oven clip, now that is a deep cut. Very good use, fitting for the Bounty.
@@joeykeilholz925why do you have ads in your Samsung phone? Do you mindlessly tap options like "personalize..." and "get special offers"?
@@joeykeilholz925 if Samsung is really that GARBAGE, they had been a 3rd or even 4TH position in the mobile world. They have so many things that contributed to their current position.
@@joeykeilholz925 and for your heads-up,I have an Samsung with Android 12, and the experience is the opposite of your opinion about ads.
If other phones had as small bugs as you blow up on the iPhone, 🤣 I wouldn’t have switched
It is easy.
Thanks, Mr. Mobile!!😊
Your mic is so good! I keep increasing and decreasing my volume to hear the difference. Very clear and loud! It adds more enjoyable experience while watching! 👌
Thx for the vid! I've left ios 10 years ago, when I changed my iPhone 4 for the samsung galaxy note 1😊. And never get back to ios. Even though my whife still using iPhones.
I hate the lack of customization of ios.
The lack of good apps that you don't have on ios but have on android.
The lack of novelty on the phones.
And the PRICEs 😢... Are getting waaay to spicy for a normal user.
