    On the second stretch if you don't have boxes and weights can you achieve a similar result by grasping your ankles and pulling your face/chest towards the floor?

    Is the butterfly better before leg day workout or after the leg workout?

      Good question
      It really depends on what your leg day looks like, the butterfly is designed to access new range, so if you need greater range for the leg exercises you are doing then before (this is unlikely) it’s more likely you would do this after your leg day session.
      I use this as a warm up before hitting my pancake, middle split session coupled with handstands. I wouldn’t normally do this on my leg day 😃 hope that helps

    Run into this video and channel today. Nice channel. Keep up the good work. Gonna try this one. If you are inflexible how much hurt/stretch can I have with that stretch on the ground (around 1:00) ?

      Welcome to the channel 😃You want to find a weight that gently presses your knees down, a weight you can still breath and relax with. 2kg each side might be a great place to start and remember you can add a little extra weight using your hands and pushing down. You should feel a good /decent stretch through the inside of your legs, but no pain (not sharp and acute) Hope this helps you

    Thnxs.. but coming up to the 4th exercise... every time I lift my quads..I get extreme cramp on quads.. couldn't do even 1😢😢

    The last exercise lifting the legs, why do this to be able to do the pancake? Why is stronger quads important for increasing flexibility going into the pancake stretch?
    Im so confused, im a dancer since many years and have never seen anyone talking about lifting the legs like that to be able to do the pancake.

      He explained in the video, it’s so you can pull yourself forward into the pancake better using that compression strength

      @themovementcollective i think it's called the seated hamstring stretch. Where your sitting on your bum on the floor with both legs straight out in front. Then you grab the feet or ankles and pull chest to thigh

    Why half naked? Looks kind of ridiculous and desperate. I guess the fitness industry is clogged up and one has to try to stand up among the competition but I just find these half naked videos of bad taste and lack class. And I'm not a conservative person!

      He's dressed normally , can walk anywhere in my country in public like that.
      But yes this is the nature of these vids, they I suppose are meant to be inspirational . As a 60 year guy who will never be able to do a "pancake" felt there was something for everyone , no matter your ability or body shape.
      Where I think topless works , if low body fat , can show actual muscle activations for different strength exercises. Given Da Vinci , artists etc have fascinated only anatomical structures , there is some info here.
      Really this was very tame, did not have a click bait thumbnail for dramatic effect .
      Hip flexibility , hamstring flexibility are all something we can improve.
      Would like some proviso at beginning .
      Compare to say someone's elses vid how to arch your back - and completely ignores why , pretending that it isn't highly associated with your age , sex etc ( ie physically impossible for some older men, unless want to smash your spine spurs to damage yourself. is it normal for Chinese 11 year old girls through brutal training to rest their heads on their backside
      Each channel has their own flavour , some with graphics, of what's involved eg side splits involve 2 different things that need to work together from a vid I saw
