12/27/22 Update: If you are playing solo without a chat you will need to have Ps5 set to HDMI Output and PS5 source set to Monitor and Output . Desktop should be muted. This needs to be updated every now and again because of updated Also changing the way you plug your link cable works with different consoles!
i want to ask that it wouldn't show me what to plug in because unfortunately i don't speak english and so i don't understand what to do! thank you very much for the help!
i know im kinda late but i just started getting to streaming but i set everything up and all the audio is going through obs but i cant hear it through my headset any help? and also where do i plug the chat link cable into my pc exactly?
When I plug my chat link into the PC I notice all sounds are very very low. When I take the chat link off and just plug in the headset, the sound is normal. How do I fix this? The chat link is brand new with no issues
Honestly I don’t quite remember it’s been a while since I had that issue. Maybe try rearranging the plugs and also making sure the pc sound setting are up
i followed the steps to plug everything in, i can hear alerts, my music, and even the game, but the game audio is not being played on streamlabs. any suggestions?
ok so im on xbox and use light stream instead of obs... you think i can do that? ill buy the chat link cable but i dont use a capture card....im guessing the lightstream app transfers my game play directly to twitch
To be honest I never used light stream but the chat link may work with it as the chat link is it’s own tool you’d have to figure out how to make it work though.
@@RetroJetro k got you!my friend hasthe ps5 and can stream his game chat... but I have an xbox blehh haha i got a chat link and the hdmi audio input so hopefylly...

No it’s not a stupid question sorry I just got your notification. I’m not currently in front of my PC but you would need to click the source (maybe right click or click the little cogwheel) and allow audio monitoring or something like that. Let me know if that helps I should be home by the time you get this.
When I plug in to the Pc with chat link PS4 sound in headphones to low but everything else works. How do I turn sound up PS4 sound on headphones? Also using an elgato alternative card.
Make sure the volume in OBS on your PS4 source is turned up, I think the pc may have to be turned up as well. If that doesn’t work try the source that says desktop.
@@milkyberrii Yes it works but it takes alot of leaving ang coming back to party chat and they have to allow their voice to be shared. Always test it before you stream. The best way to know if they can be heard is using the volume indicator on OBS when they talk.
Good video but is your console audio coming through your controller or Pc cause if it’s from the pc won’t you have a little of a sound delay from hearing it from the pc?
so my elgato comes in tomorrow & im wondering if its possible to use my xbox headset mic on my console whilst setting this all up. i have everything set up, external mic for my pc etc - but as i play on console, i'd love for people in game to be able to hear me and my chat be able to hear them, if that makes sense.. like is my xbox mic still able to work *in game* with all this?
@@RetroJetro everythings fine, but i cant hear my game chat in the obs recording i take (to test it). i can hear them fine in game but my stream cant...
I do have a question though inside of OBS studio when you plug the long end of the Elgato chat link into your PC and you change it to monitor and output on your advanced audio properties what PC settings would you need to apply in your sound settings in Windows for the output and input
@@3RDGENSICKNESS For the PC itself you shouldn’t have to change anything that I’m aware of but depending on your capture card you have to make sure the sound is displaying on the bar in the program the card uses.
@@RetroJetro I double checked all the connections but nothing seems to be working. It’s working to a certain extent I thought this was the end of my travels lol.
So if your streaming a game like call of duty or apex can your team in game chat still hear you or do you have to set up a different mic just for that purpose
You only need one mic but it can be very annoying to get it to work you would need to make sure before you stream that you hear then and they can hear you. It may involve restarting OBS a few times and toggling sound settings a few times. It can really be a hassle.

Ok, but how do you communicate in game chat and party chat? The only way for the stream to hear game chat is by using Analog Audio.
I have mine set to HDMI output and use a Elgato Chat Link Cable to hear Party chat but the sound is coming through OBS which I and the stream can also hear. Also have party chat to all audio through Headphones.
Do you still need a second mic for the stream to hear you? And you did you have your headset set as the “ primary mic”?😊
Yes but another option if possible would be to use Discord instead. It’s easier than the method I showed here.
