Hey guys! I hope this video helps those of you looking to use a wireless headset with your Xbox Series S/X Elgato setup. This can be a little tricky as Xbox cannot use USB mic connected to the console, and game chat (not Xbox party chat) audio get's re-routed any time headsets are connected to the console. (Check METHOD #1) If you own an Xbox compatible wireless headset and a USB mic + only care about recording game audio with Xbox party chat (Check METHOD #2) If you're looking to use ANY wireless headset for chat and commentary + record game audio, game chat, and Xbox party chat + the ability to hear alerts, Spotify, etc. - Windows OS only, Mac users I recommend running Bootcamp or Parallels Comment if you have any questions, or DM my socials linked in the description!
So using this method, How do i add commentary via a second mic while dead in game? SLOBS Doesn't want to recognize my second mic now that have that headset plugged in
Please can you tell how you got input and output up on the xbox app as mine just says game bar needed for voice chat and 1 is installed with app already just doesn't seem to be working
This is perfect. Still a bit peeved that PlayStation hasn’t figured this out yet since I use both Xbox and PlayStation depending on what I’m playing, but luckily I still use a wired headset on the PlayStation and can just use a chat link.
My issue is that I can hear the game chat setup on the elgato since my output is on "speaker and headset" but when I turn on my wireless Xbox series x headset to talk the elgato no longer hears the game chat. All other audio is fine. Any input?😬
Not necessarily, this video shows you can use a wireless headset and still get everything recorded. Follow method 2 if you need game chat audio, otherwise you’ll need to use chat link cable wired from controller
Im running an astro a50 on xbox with the hd60x...i found in the game settings on COD in the cod settings for audio find party chat output and change from headset to speakers....worked for me without the chatlink cable at all
I stream off my pc using a capture card to my xbox. i bought the chat link so my streams can hear my game chat but when i plug the chat link into my arctis 9x wireless my teammates can’t hear me and the stream still can’t hear game chat audio. can anyone help me please
My only issue is, is that having the second method done, I can hear the audio from 3 sources. The Xbox party, the remote party, and the obs. Anyway to fix that???
Can you do a video for the El gato Neo capture card? Having a hard time connecting my party audio to the stream, I can hear my friends but my voice is not on the stream but everything else is. FYI im using a wired headset.
Does this mean that if I choose not to use a capture card at all and capturing game play in OBS by remote play only (window/screen capture) I can connect my wired headphone to my mac and be able to capture all audio: game play, game and party chat and stream commentary?
I have my Xbox Wireless headset running directly to my Xbox and Bluetooth to my computer. Couldn't I just add that audio source on computer if I'm using Discord instead of Party chat?
Stupid question but is the Xbox adapter and extra flashdrive?? Like you have astros and the Astro flashdrive connects to your Xbox directly and then you need another for the PC?
This worked for me and I don’t use an elgato game capture the only thing Is I can’t talk to my stream or recording while also talking to my friends. I have a steel series so maybe I have to mess with the setting or I might just get any mic to plug into my pc
Is this possible to PlayStation? I need to improve my headset and looking at the HS80 wireless but I want to stream party chat audio and hear my game audio.
Something that I found is that even though it doesn’t pick up your audio it will pick up the others people audio in your party. Not sure why that is or how to fix it
I use method 2 right now with my turtle beach stealth 420x. no adapter needed just plug-in the transmitter that it comes with. The only problem is, at least I’ve only experienced it on modern warfare 2 is sometimes when you are using remote play for game chat, for some reason controls will disable and the only way to fix that is by closing out MW2 and the Xbox app and re-launch with out the Xbox app running. To make this make sense, sometimes when I go into the recent players list to message or add somebody, my controls will no longer work, and then I have to dashboard. The other problem is, if you want to take a screenshot or a quick video clip, those functions will not work when remote play is active. If anyone has fixes for the two of these, please reply to this comment, and you will be forever my hero.
Hi Midnight Man, Do you know how to seperate the audio in OBS? As the party chat record with the gameplay and I cannot edit it? I have my Xbox series x with a elgato hd60x and a hdmi audio extractor with my Astro a50 connected via optical to my laptop any help would be greatly appreciated

ok so if im in party chat and im playing a game, if set up correctly, the elgato should input game audio AND chat audio into my stream. The only thing that it does not transmit is the audio coming from MY microphone which is why I need a second mic to record my voice?
Is there a way the Xbox Discord app can be recorded with the elgato? I've tried, but for whatever reason Discord chat doesn't get picked up!
