Hi MidnightMan! Question: will I still be able to play - and have 4K resolution with 120fps when using the elgato? I’m not sure if it will let me play at 4k120 and that it will stream at 4k60. I’m totally nee to this so I’m tryna see pros and cons of using a capture card
I have a problem. I have every audio that I need, but my ps5 group chat won't hear me. I have a blue snowball connected to my pc, and it's my stream mic. I can hear my desktop audio and my game audio (as well as group chat) through my headphones that are connected to my pc. I set my headphones as default on my pc, and in OBS i selected the default mic. The problem is now the mic in my headphones is used as the mic in the stream, and no one still hears me in the group chat. Is there a fix?
is it possible to use method 1 - splitter with wired headset and mic for game chat, then high quality mic via USB to PC to capture stream commentary, and then use PC to play message alerts / music out loud? I'm trying to use my headset and mic for game chat, but high quality mic for stream, while being able to hear the stream alerts and music on PC.... it seems there isn't a solve for this, you have to have two mics (neither connected to headset) is that right?
Just to clarify, The chat link cable is only allowing the recording of the game and others audio chat (Others chatting through party chat) but NOT our own talking. In order for us to do that we will need a separate mic hooked up to our computer. In essence Chat Link Cable is only used to pass game audio to the computer
So just to clarify further lol sorry I’m so frustrated rn. I need a headset with a mic and chat link cable for my team in my party chat to hear me and will need a second external mic connected to my computer in front of me so that my twitch stream can hear me via OBS? Does that sound accurate? I thought my voice would be recorded in party chat with the link cable but I guess not..?

This video has saved me multiple times.... today it helped me fix... 1. Plugging the chat cable into the USB mic first and wondering why it cut out the capture card audio whenever I plugged in the controller. Solution: plug the chat cable into the controller. 2. Whenever I have my controller plugged in, the sound cuts out from the capture card and doesn't get recorded, so it's just my voice and no gameplay audio (although I can hear it though the headphones) Solution: go into legato software and change audio capture setting from hdmi to analog. After so much troubleshooting, everything is finally running smoothly. Thank you, sir!

I did the hdmi TV method without the second microphone as my headset (steelseries arctis 7p) is able to simultaneously use aux cord and wireless, so I put the ps5 output as hdmi and input as the wireless USB of the headset whilst also aux cording the headset to my Pc
So the headset allows it to have both wireless audio from ps5 but can also allow microphone input to the computer for stream chat? Can you make the microphone work for both game chat through the ps5 and on the computer for stream chat?

After I watched the stream and I noticed the audio wasn’t playing making me realize I really do need to do a check up on that before my next stream.I didn’t want to buy the chat link cable just yet before trying your method. I stumbled upon a method of my own following your steps. I’m using my headset to talk to my team and I don’t mind if they aren’t heard to the stream because I usually don’t want their commentary anyways included. Dude GGs; I almost bought the method 1; but said; alright let's see what method 2 is. BAM. Had all the stuff on my desk and was streaming with party chat in minutes
I just cant get it to work, everything is hooked up right, just no one in the stream chat room can hear me but those in my party can but only they come through... this is really getting annoying, been at this for 4 hours now and still not working right
Hey when recording gameplay on a ps5 with the Elgato HD 60 s+ is it still possible to play in 120fps even tho the Elgato would only be recording in 60fps? Because I have the original Elgato HD Capture card from many years ago and immediately when I plug it in, it caps my ps5 frames at 60fps because that’s what it’s recording at. Is there a work around that with these newer Elgatos or even that old one?
Thank you so much for this useful video! I usually use Discord while I play with my friends on stream but some ppl still prefer the PS5 chat. The second method was great since I already have a ton of cables for my streaming setup.
Does it record your Discord chat audio into OBS? I am totally new to this and just doing some research for when I start uploading videos and streaming.
Yikes this messed me up so bad. It did help with it's intended purpose, but I don't ALWAYS wear a headset or need the Chat Link Cable when I play, so when I'm not using those, I could NOT get Elgato to capture my game audio anymore, and watched about a hundred videos to find out why. None of them helped me. Then I remembered THIS video is what caused it. So I came back to it and rewatched it and found the issue I had. So when you do this, which DOES work to get Chat Link Cable working, keep 5:06 in mind so if you ever wonder why your game capture can't capture your audio anymore when you AREN'T using headphones/Chat Link Cable, THIS is why. You'll have to unfortunately remember to switch back and forth because for whatever insane reason, Elgato didn't have the foresight to make it easy for literally anyone...
This was all a great help? my question is when you're using the mic from the headset and the mic going to your PC, is going to make the stream hear you twice since IT IS capturing the party audio?
THANK YOU !! Im so mad because last year i bought the chat link for my series x (before watching your vid) ... a complete waste buying ... This will work and the chatlink cable to record all things I need to record????
Friggin genius this man is!!! Thank you lort!
Clear and concise. Maaan, great work throughout. You helped me figure out a few things with my audio. Was wondering why my volume was so low for starters. Nice video though brother.
Thanks!!! This helped a lot.
Great video thank you. You make a complicated process easy to understand.
Will chat link work if instead of party chat I use in game chat?
Actually you can use a 3d pulse connected to your computer directly to hear game then just connect mic
I don’t hate you for it, I absolutely thank you for being straight forward with this info in the beginning of your video. You’re a legend for that.
My wireless turtle beaches are now becoming my PC only headset and I have $350 worth of astro products on their way to my house.
Thanks man.
Glad I could help out!
Ily midnight man ❤
This is why I subscribe, great way in explaining everything!
One word. Legend.
Thank you.
Dude GGs; I almost bought the method 1; but said; alright let's see what method 2 is. BAM. Had all the stuff on my desk and was streaming with party chat in minutes
hi, I have a problem with the HDMI method, I hear the audio with a huge delay and it makes it impossible for me to play, can anyone help me? please
I just cant get it to work, everything is hooked up right, just no one in the stream chat room can hear me but those in my party can but only they come through... this is really getting annoying, been at this for 4 hours now and still not working right
This is what’s happening to me too! If you find out what it is dude let me know
Are you talking to your party through your headset?
I've been trying to figure this shit out for months and still haven't got it down yet. Hopefully this video will help me when I go to test it.
Great video. But this only works with 3.5mm plug? What if I have dongle? I have the Sony h9 headset and doesn't have a 3.5mm connection😤
Great video! Helped a ton, thanks
Yes it does!@@ProspectGaming_
dude you're a genius
hi mate great video btw if i do the second method will i also get my friends voice also into my stream aswell as mine and people off game chat?
Will the same chat link method work for Xbox series x?
Yes chat link method will work for Xbox the same way.
You'll have to unfortunately remember to switch back and forth because for whatever insane reason, Elgato didn't have the foresight to make it easy for literally anyone...
big help!! im using a mirabox capture card and couldnt figure this out
This is fax tho, nice video! Even though I don’t play on it, I understand because my brother sometimes streams on ps.
Any idea on how to get the 3D Pulse Elite wireless headset to work?
This was all a great help? my question is when you're using the mic from the headset and the mic going to your PC, is going to make the stream hear you twice since IT IS capturing the party audio?
THANK YOU !! Im so mad because last year i bought the chat link for my series x (before watching your vid) ... a complete waste buying ... Now' over the last hour ive been trying to get this stupid game audio through streamlabs obs .. i watch your vid and you mention the chat link ... i hook it up to the ps5 and it works lol
Thank You! Queston: When im Livestreaming, How Do I NOT have the People in the game chat pickup into the livestream while im in gamechat and not in a playstation party? I dont want to record the teamates or people in GTA5 cursing and plaing music while im live. Please help.
Thanks for you great video. Is there an delay with the hdmi method?
its extremely minimal, like 31ms
For the HDMI TV method I did all your steps, I see the volume for the game in the obs moving but I hear nothing coming from my headset or the laptop itself
did you figure this out?
@@ldkyler yeah for me, I just had to close out the OBS software, unplug my Elgato usb from my laptop and plug it back it. I guess the system just needs a quick restart to get the volume going
@@mvz105 Thats exactly what I did because I got pissed and it worked lmao. I guess it did need that
Great video, so just to confirm, using the Astro A40s and A50s are the only exception that will work to capture the game chat and party chat audio to record with OBS?
Deserved a Sub! Beautiful Explanation
i don’t know man. i have a ps5, mac and a game capture 60s + chat link pro and i don’t have a sound coming to obs. doing everything as you described in the video…
I had the same issue. I found out that there actually was sound it was just extremely low. I put up the volume on max db in obs and i can hear it good i just wish i could find a way to where i dont need to put the db that high
Here is my question. How do you get party chat to stop recording? I have the Astro A50x, and my party chat automatically streams, and I don't want it to. I have checked all my PS5 settings with no luck. I have the same issue with my Artic Pro with the DAC.
👌🏾 I truly appreciate you my boy for real.
Thanks for helping me keep going 😅
4:01 I’m confused here you are showing the ps5 wireless headset? Will this also work if I have a 3.5 cable connected to the ps5 wireless headset to the chat link?
you are a legend mate, helped me make my live stream amazing, thanks heaps. liked and subscribed. really appreciate it.
