My Asus Zenbook is 10 years old, and it has been a phenomenal machine. It still has some more life in it, but I really need to upgrade this year to get a better processor and to overcome the ending of support for Win 10. However, all the Amazon reviews for new Asus products, as well as comments on this video, repeatedly complain about loud fans and prematurely malfunctioning screens. Consumers have been charged over $800 for repairs by Asus. Many Asus models are also now more expensive than Macbooks. I feel so disappointed that the Asus build quality has deteriorated since I got my Zenbook, and sadly I dont think my next purchase is going to be another Asus. Even though I understand a fair bit about computer specs, I'd welcome more videos on good laptops to buy.
I will never buy ASUS again; I purchased the Zephyrus M16 i9 last year, the screen/graphics card failed after a few months, literally a horizontal line through the entire screen and flickering, after that showed up, a week or two later complete blank screen. ASUS said that was not covered under warranty.
I have an Asus Rog, the older generation of this laptop, it is a very powerful laptop. But it's noisy, Asus never bothered to give fine-grained control to fan speed.... I'm doing voice overs and the fan Sounds like a jet engine. Support wasn't long lasting. I don't know if I buy Asus again
Can i install local AI on mac? Like there are quite some well-known open source AI programs out there that I could install. Can I do the same with mac? Im seriously asking since I'm in need of a new laptop for my university
I just started to applaud content made with your tools man, well done. I've earned more than $800 in just one week and it was incredibly insightful. Can't stress enough how helpful experts in this field are!
Thanks Kevin. Your videos are well done and you articulate well. I appreciate it I am eyeing a new note PC purchase for 2025 and this may be one of the candidate options so far. It seems to be almost a perfect machine except for the lack of a touch screen. It's not a high priority but it's One consideration on my checklist usually in order to be able to pinch to zoom when reading news or other text items given my eyesight at this age. Of course the same thing can be done by the trackpad but there are times when I just want to access the screen directly. The other point you didn't cover in your video is upgradability. I tend to open up the base and put in my own SSDs pulling that standard 512GB or 1TB SSD and replace with my own 4TB. Ideally it should have 2 slots as does the P16 bWhich will allow 8TB for content creation and storage. I also use ASUSTOR's Flashstor an all flash NAS as well. The current P16 model does have two slots for Upgrade ability and the DDR5 RAM can also be upgraded as well to 64GB of RAM. Anyway I am monitoring CES and see what other options might come out. There's a very interesting product from Samsung, a an 18-inch foldable screen OLED. It can be used as a Windows machine or as a secondary 18 inch external screen, or if you don't mind using a compact external keyboard an 18" Windows laptop. Nice! Cheers, Jerry
Kevin, I’m very concerned about the future of your channel. It used to be all about how to know things and learn things and do things for ourselves. You have always been a master teacher. Unfortunately, it seems lately that it has become nothing more than how to get machines to do all the work for us. This whole artificial intelligence “fad” I think has the goal of dumbing down of America and the world. People are no longer having to think for themselves or have artistic abilities or learn complex problem-solving. We will sadly become the future of mere button pushers. We will then get to the point where no one will be smart enough to realize when the computers are right and when they are wrong. They will become the ultimate fact checkers and we will be there pawns.
Really rethink your statement. Kevin shares your sentiment, but technology is always moving forward. It comes with industry. I don't feel dumb using Ai. I feel like I can use my real brain for the things that really need my creative input. Trust me, things will complicate themselves on their own lol
@ I appreciate that. The topic of AI is a difficult one for me, though I would tend to want to err on the side of going slow with it versus the extreme speed people and businesses have seemed to adopt it and heavily rely on it.
Thanks Kevin! I really appreciate how you went into detail about the process and the products that you use on the laptop. It gave the review great context.
I purchased the ASUS Zephyrus M16 i9 which boomed, decided to get a MacBook Air M2 on discount. I've been using it for a while now. Best decision I have ever made.
Hello I need an Excel tutorial to automate the reconciliation of my cash book and bank statement. Here’s the issue: 1. Both records have duplicate transactions. 2. Sometimes, the cash book has multiple transactions on the same day, but the bank statement shows them on different dates. 3. A single transaction in one record may have multiple corresponding transactions in the other. 4. I need to match records and assign a unique identifier to the matched transactions. 5. Highlight unmatched or duplicate transactions.
Hello,🙋♂️ Kevin, you’re one of my best TH-camr that i’ve been watching 👀 all over and over. Thanks for sharing this great new with us friendly and inspiring videos. 🎉
