there wasn't any bidding This is nvidia strongarming, how is that so hard to see? Also exclusivity deals are for losers with inferior product When you make the best everyone expects manufacturers to use the best so they have no other choice, unlike intel and nvidia AMD doesn't have that problem so why waste the money?

It seems like Framework has already positively affected the market. Toolless entry with everything immediately available is an amazing win for repairability. Hopefully asus makes it easy to source parts and isn't using a whole host of scummy anti repair for everything other than ram, storage, and the battery. If those laptops are going to pretty much be $3k+, they better make it easy enough to change the wifi card out and replace fans. That's definitely a laptop you intend to keep for at least 5 years. One thing missing from that Strix G GPU SKU discussion: the Intel version tops out not at a 5070 Ti, but a 5080. In the same chassis, though likely with a slightly different heatsink design. Still, it's solid proof that they could have put one in the AMD version too, had they wanted to. So I'd say it's safe to asume we're seeing an example of Intel's "marketing funds" at play here, limiting the version with the far superior CPU to a slower GPU.
Laptop makers REALLY need to stop putting numpads on the laptop just because the screen is bigger. It makes ergonomics on your $2000+ product horrible and feel awful. Just get rid of it and put in speakers that AREN'T garbage

2:39 the vapor chamber was changed from copper to stainless steel ?
Wasn't it changed from copper to a mix of Copper AND stainless steel now? As is literally shown on screen. Not sure how using stainless steel is better when it is barely 15W/mK compared to about 400W/mK for copper (bigger number = better thermal conductivity). While it is certainly more rigid and would helps prevent heat from other parts to heat up the heatpipes too much when we want to pull heat away from the CPU/GPU... My guess is they wanted to save a buck on the copper, not so much that it's "better" than the previous solution they had. Just that it's more efficient.
