  • In this latest update video, join me as I discuss why I didn't complete my usual track session leading up to the Brighton Marathon. I also share my experience of missing out on a recovery run and finally managing a session of 6x min. Watch to see how it all goes! #BrightonMarathon #TrainingUpdate #TrackSession #RecoveryRun #MarathonPrep #FitnessJourney

Hope your wife is feeling better now and everything gets sorted on the insurance. Keep on grinding, it's the training you do around and in spite of weather conditions, car accidents and so on that really counts and brings results, not the quick interval session on a perfect night! Go smash that parkrun tomorrow!

Thanks mate, yes, hopefully the training will start to pay off on Saturday with a good parkrun! The wife is a lot better, thanks. The insurance have been really good so far, hardly any inconvenience to us, which helps. Have a good weekend yourself, take care.

Good luck at the park run tomorrow 😀 we are off to a "paved" one - fed up with the mud and puddles 🙂

Thinking the same, I'd just like to get a decent time. I am leaving for Dulwich this morning, it's all paths and pretty flat. Hopefully, a decent time this morning. Have a great parkrun yourself!

Thank you, hopefully we can have a good parkrun! It really has been wet, still managing those first grass cuts of the year.

As someone that’s done it before, is the Brighton marathon hilly? I’m running it too and concerned as the course profiles I’ve seen keep stating different elevation. Good luck!

Hello, I wouldn't be too concerned; however, there are some slight hills. The start has a gentle climb, which is a good thing as it stops people from flying off! You have a couple more climbs, one is just after mile 5, which is a short hill, and the longest climb is a gradual hill that takes you out past the harbor to the turnaround point. So, just take it easy. After the turnaround point, which is about 11.50 miles, it's mostly downhill and flat, so there are plenty of miles to recover any lost time. Good luck to yourself!
