I ran my first 5K two days ago at 26:01. I haven’t ran in over two years and have primarily been strength and weight training. What’s so unbelievable about this?
Great video this. Don't like the comments about not being a new runner. If you are fit and have played sports you can probably run a decent time. Without sounding harsh, the major reason runners his age have 'slower' times will be linked to weight rather than 'natural' ability.
So glad I found this video! I’m signed up for a half marathon with a month to go. I haven’t ran in years but just did a couple miles. Thanks for inspiration, cheers
I signed up for a 15k on June… exactly one month to go. My max distance is 11k and I live at an altitude of 2800m that’s 10.000ft if you’re American…. It’s much harder at altitude but I’ll make it! Good luck to anyone running their first race out there :)
It’s funny that I came across this video because I randomly signed up for a 10k (6 miles) this month lol. I’m not a runner at all! But I have until April to get ready.
A 10K race is 6.2 miles. I hope you enjoy your race. Start slow - don't-run too fast in the first miles. Save some energy for the last miles of the race. Don't burn off all your energy in the first mile of the race, Enjoy it.
Let me answer this without watching it yet… you cannot finish a half marathon with only 30 days of training if you have no prior experience running… you need at least a couple of months, it is NOT easy. You could do it if you have some experience and are fairly active with cardio.
Yeah absolutely. Even if he has good genetics or been doing other sports. Running faster takes more time than that. I can't believe too many people really believed in the comments. Makes me cringe watching this video.
I have 30 days for mine and my last 5 years have 4 days of running. It may not be a good time, but 2.30 shouldn't be hard even for non-runners in okay shape.
Omg! I’m having a goosebumps and I wanna cry for your achievement. Tears of joy buddy! I’m going to run half marathon in 2 months, thank you for your fighting spirit and this content , I badly need it now, I’m having mix emotions whenever I’m thinking the run, but I’m excited coz I knew that this gonna be one of the best day of my life! Cheers to you buddy. 🎉
I did a half marathon with zero training and zero sleep the night before. Completed at 2:36. Did 2nd one after few months within 2:28, again with no training 😂.
i am having a half marathon on 30th nov .. in the last days i ran almost 16-17 times ... lets see if we could complete it within 2 hours ... see you guys on sun with some good update
I have a solution for the ice bath. He should’ve started doing cold showers in the beginning of his journey that way the ice bath would’ve been easier to do at the end. Adapt! Train! No BS! Positivity! Carry the boats and logs baby!!
The half marathon was tough! What should I try next?
U r fiiiine af
Marathon
Marathon 😉
You should run the New York City Marathon in 2024. [The 2023 Marathon is already sold out.]
Marathon. Then ask for suggestions again after the marathon.
A non runner running at a pace of 26 minutes per 5km on the first day? Hhmmm okay lol

@@YoooMelvin then congrats! You are also ahead of a lot of “first time runners” like him
Yea this video is fake . He would get shin splits if he was really a beginner ,at that pace .
@@user-og9nl5mt1b so true!
My first 5k was 20:21😂

Man... I trained for 10 weeks for my half and finished in 2:05:48 haha hoping to be under 2 hours for my next one
so proud of you Godfrey! nailed it 🎉
So glad I found this video! I’m signed up for a half marathon with a month to go. I haven’t ran in years but just did a couple miles. Thanks for inspiration, cheers
You GOT this
I’m a fat bastard weighing 220lbs and did my first half 2 weeks ago in 1:57. Need to kick on now and hopefully do a full marathon in 2025
Running a half marathon in 6 days. I haven’t trained I got sick all last week and here I am 😂😢
All the best!!!
If it takes you 30 days to run a half marathon you are probably going too slow…

Respect and inspiring vid bro. Not quite half marathon distance, but i will be doing a few 10k's this year. Your vid has given me the motivation!!

Good luck!
You can do it!!!

A sub 2-hour half marathon in 30 days by a non-runner? That's almost impossible.
Yes it is, my brother is fit but not a runner and he did a half mara with no training in 1:50
You did a great job in the race. Well done.
Bro says I am not a runner and finishes a 5k in just about 25 minutes or so😅

Unless you run, walk, run, walk.

26m in 5K for a beginner??? imagine how much you can achieve training for 10 years
the mistake of not going to the toilet whilst running oh nooo 😂😂😂
Great job, this was so inspiring!

If you start with a sub 30 minutes 5k you are already at a very good point!
Go Godfrey!!!

Well done! Cpngratulations!! Next challenge: learn to dance salsa? Greatings from Brazil :)
Id like to think id finish a half marathon in 30 days😂

Why’d they censor out Jordan in the background?
Well done 👍🏽
Godfrey is so cute
That's awesome! I want to run a half marathon soon!
Wow!!! Congrats on your first half!!! I have 60days before my first HM. Which marathon will you run next?
Cmon, that's so clearly BS. This type of video creates false expectations in TRULY new runners.
Absolutely. Yet many real beginners in the comments really believed this BS. lol
I have a solution for the ice bath.

Pro tip for the ice bath is wear socks! Helps the feet
the time you take too run these km is crazy 😂
Go for a whole marathon.
I really love it..
This video mustn't be for the average non-runner person, good on you for achieving it though
5:32 HUHHHH
