      Something I’ve said for a while is similar to what you said: that the Game Corner should be replaced with an Arcade that has a bunch of minigames from previous games. Like the Two Island Game Corner minigames from FRLG, Mantine Surf from USUM, the Pokémon Amie minigames, and the Wi-Fi Plaza minigames.

    or maybe make a new family-friendly type of game corner with arcade vibes instead, with reduced versions of other old games included like arcades inside the Yakuza series do

    I always gravitated towards Voltorb flip the most, out of any game corner in the franchise. When you land on that one place where you have a 50/50 shot to be right or to get blown up, lol. This one never did much for me. The roulette table is too slow and the slot machine is too boring and unreliable. Like you said, I just farmed money and bought my coins in bulk if I needed them. It really was the most efficient way.
    I wasn't too upset that they removed the game corner in ORAS, but I did find it strange they they put a reminder note in there just to bum out the people who did love it. Felt a bit like rubbing salt in the wound, lol. 'You used to love this place when you were younger, didn't you? Well, it's gone now, sucker!' Always felt like a kick in their nads that they didn't deserve.

    Imagine if they had replaced the gambling games in the game corner with a game arcade and instead of gambling games, there would have been mini games played with tokens. However, even here there is some but because not all countries look favorably on game arcades, for example in Finland Mario, Pacman and Flipper were believed to promote gambling for children and therefore we have only ever had a very short period when game arcades existed in Finland.

      @@BJGvideos It might have to do with the history of pinball and gambling. For a very long time, pinball was banned in a ton of places under gambling laws, and it was because earlier forms of the game WERE gambling. Before the late 40's, there were no flippers, and thus no way to influence the path of the ball except bumping the table, which was frowned upon by operators, and is the reason tilt sensors were invented. After the flippers were introduced it still took decades for lawmakers to be convinced that pinball was now a game of skill rather than chance, and I wouldn't be surprised if in some countries never shook off that stigma. Since pinball is the grandaddy of arcade games, they likely just lumped video arcade machines into the same category reflexively as pinball.

    • @formlessone8246
      @formlessone8246 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@DigiPen92oh that's absolutely the reason. The European ratings board changed their rules right when gen IV came out so that games which simulate gambling games like roulette and slot machines couldn't get a rating lower than the equivalent of Teen, and so Game Freak had to emergency patch the European release to lock you out of the game corner in the Sinnoh games in order to get an E rating in Europe. That's why they then released the gen II remakes with Voltorb flip, so that the European release of Platinum could reopen the game corner with that as the only available game. Starting with gen V they decided to just start omitting game corners as the only generation where it was necessary to go to one in the first place was Gen I. Honestly, given the age of the protagonist, the world building makes more sense this way.

Most of the maps don't have a solution where you are guaranteed to win if you play correctly, it's literally a guessing game, and you can get sent down multiple levels even if you played perfectly. There is even a Voltorb Flip tool online where you can insert the starting conditions and it will show you all the probabilities move per move, if you don't believe me
