The very first "secret" is wrong lol. An NPC in Littleroot Town says the player character is from Johto. Also, seeing how Norman was already a gym leader prior to moving to Hoenn, it's entirely possible that Whitney replaced Norman as the Goldenrod City gym leader. It's also entirely possible that she's your older sister seeing how your mother hints that you have a sibling seeing how you won't have to share a room anymore (can't imagine you've shared a bedroom with your mom and dad all these years). Some even speculate that Whitney is your older sister, and that she inherited the Goldenrod Gym form your father.
So for the first secret, it can actually be found in the game too! If you go to Petalburg City, the house to the far south will have a lady inside that will say, "Norman became our town's new Gym Leader. I think he called his family over from the Johto region." So the game confirms the player is originally from Johto too! Just thought I'd add that!
I actually remember I went around my school to every sign that had braille on it to figure out the puzzle for this cause I didn't have internet to look it up and so I basically learned braille just for Pokemon, don't remember it now since it's been over a decade but still XD
Also, weight shifting to perform a nozzer or nose manual. Front brake isn't necessarily necessary to getting the arse end up and can, for some at least, be a good way to join flight school. Every budding BMX rider has had an OTB because they misjudged the setup when they grabbed a handful of brake.
@@WillowChord roll slow, set yourself up relaxed with knees slightly bent, feather the front brake as you shift your weight slightly forward. As the rear lifts try to shift your mass to stay largely over the front axle. Don't grab a handful of brake or go in too fast or you'll have what we call an OTB (over the bars). Start slow, find the sweet spot. Eventually you'll be able to remove the use of the brake altogether and perform an endo while rolling, we call that a nose manual or nozzer. Once you're comfortable you'll be able to put the bike on its nose then by shifting you weight rearward with some force you'll be able to do a nollie (a hop from the nose). Just take baby steps, practice and most importantly, wear a helmet.
If you go straight down from your characters fathers gym the woman in the house says that the gym leader Norman brought his family from over from Johto
I found the Regi trio entirety by mistake, I found that little area with the dents and I’m like “is that braille?” Looked up braille alphabet hand did the thing and the room shook then I was confused, until wandering around those strange rocks that suddenly had a cave now
I was 10 when I found the braille, I didn't know what it was. My naive mind thought my game was broken and I called Nintendo(as a 10 yr old!) to ask them to help me fix the problem. I spoke to a nice lady and she actually mailed me a translation for the braille to my home address since I lived basically in farmland and had no access to the internet. Figuring out the puzzles with that piece of paper to guide me is one of my favorite childhood memories.
3:30 it seems you misunderstood the info... that especial diploma is for ALPHA Sapphire & OMEGA Ruby, is not for completing the Pokédex, but rather by transfering a Pokémon from Ruby/Sapphire to AlphaSapphire/OmegaRuby...
I'm still always impressed by the leap we got from gen 2 to 3, in terms of graphics, mechanics and so many small mysterious things that were so cool for the time. Honestly as much as I want pokemon games to be as good as they were it'll never happen and that's a little sad. The games don't have that sense of wonder anymore, the Internet being what it is responsible is a big part of why that's a thing for a lot of games now.
That was a tech thing. The original Gameboy held Gen 1 back, the GB colour offered better performance and so better rendering/gameplay but the GB Advance was a ridiculous upgrade. Massively improved displays combined with much better chips allowed some incredibly complex games for the time. It's partly why backwards compatibility isn't really a thing in Pokemon, older consoles simply can't handle the software and improvements. The GB and GBC were not massively different. Same format cartridge, slight improvement in performance and a slightly improved screen in the GBC but not overall much different. The GBA was like a PS5 compared to a PS1 when it replaced the GBC. It can run some GB and GBC cartridges and some players have noticed faster load times on the GBA because it has, in the words of Saint Jeremy of Clarkson, Power!!!
For the legendary Beasts soundtrack, I find it even more interesting that this was made and included in these games, but then in FRLG, the companion games where the Beasts did become available, the soundtrack was NOT added. Probably just an oopsie daisy, or they ran out of time to get the roaming soundtrack to play correctly.
for the legendary beasts theme, i’m pretty sure that the theme is just in the game to test out the gba sound font. it’s entirely possible that they might’ve been planned to be in the game, but i’m still sure the theme is only in for testing purposes only
That front wheel wheelie is called an endo or nose manual (often referred to as a nozzer). When Gen 3 came out, BMX was reaching the "mid-school" stage, bike trials was becoming popular, slopestyle (sometimes called Dirt Jump) and Freeride MTB (an offshoot of downhill) were taking off (pun intended). It's likely that the Acro bike was intended as a reference to these growing and popular forms of trick riding but the nozzer was likely deemed useless from a gameplay perspective as besides a little nozzer to hop, there's not a huge amount you can do with the trick and nothing you can't do from a wheelie or manual (wheelie without pedaling). The Acro bike can perform a 180 flat (a 180° spin from a hop, not a ramp) and can perform brake stall hops both static and in motion as well as side hops, all moves crucial to bike trials and which were really starting to see massive use in BMX to diversify what could be done in a skate park. As a long time BMX rider (over 16 years) and a fairly experienced enduro MTB rider (4 years) seeing the Acro bike in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald made me super excited as a kid and still offers a little thrill as a 26 year old pokemon and bike nerd.
0:44 GOOD QUESTION!!! In the Pokemon Trading Card Game on the 'GameBoy' console, one of the greatest mysteries in the first Gen game is the inaccessible door in the Poke-Cup Tournament Coliseum. So far, there is no TH-cam video or source following up on the game to further explain its purpose. In the second Gen, the door leads to new content to further open up a DLC portion of the game.
I think that all this information is very interesting and if Brendan/ Ruby is originally from Johto in the Games/ Manga universe so then is May originally from Johto in the Anime since she is Norman’s daughter in The show.
Love the vid! It should be noted that changing the battery does backdate the RTC as you said, but it actually does fix some of the clock events (but frustratingly not others) Using an R4 card, a special program, and a DS you can change the RTC to the current date and fix everything tho! :)
I tested it with my emerad cart accidentally. The RTC does backdate but it's not permanent. If you wait, it can catch up. Obviously this isn't good for old childhood saves but for my 6 month old living dex save I was able to let it catch up. So now daily events worked again, not just time of day events (shoal cave, sorry if this doesn't make sense)
I will never forget the day i bought Ruby. I was in Belgium with my mom for an medical operation on my hand. I think i was around 10 years old. We went into a game shop, i remember it being a small shop like corridor with games on both walls. I saw pokemon it was in french and i had to have it. It was the nost expensive yet, i had super mario world and lotr 2 before pokemon. Ended up buying it and also a used copy of earth worm jim. I was stuck after the electric gym leader cos i didnt understand french, luckuly a friend of my in school had sapphire in english so i went off from there. As a side note, gba and gba games werent available in my country. Years later i still uncovered sone stuff in the game: randomly finding rayquaza, and even some years later when the internet became mainstream i found the regis. Fun times, i still have the game working, never got to mirrage island tho and cant anymore.
I don't know that the shiny Ditto trick would work, unless they've changed it. I had a shiny Ditto in Pokémon Y and was disappointed to find out that it transformed into base colors when fighting non-shiny Pokémon.
Alao, in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, tje Scorched Slab has even more relevance and reasons, pural, to go back later! This is because it now has even more floors in side. You'll even come across Flannery again who mentions that there's a rare Pojémon inhabiting it, which turns out to be Heatran!
I believe a front wheel wheelie on a bike is called a stoppie. I unintentionally did it a lot because only the front brakes were working on my old bicycle
funny enough the last bit about time stuff not working, that would be the rocket launches and the mirage island i think. the shoal cave still works for me tide up and down, i just check back every few hours and yes the internal battery is dry. currently using my gba sp with ruby to train 1 pokemon with 5 zigzigoons pickup ability and farm rare items
The gen 2 music that was included was likely just for test reasons. Every generation with a big leap had test tracks from previous games. Also, later revisions of R/S do not have the berry glitch, you can use E/FR/LG to fix the berry glitch, and emerald also has the battery glitch, but some clock based events still work. Time of day things like shoal cave still work but things like berriea and lottery which require days to pass do not work. I also don't know if later revisions of R/S are affected by this as I don't remember my childhood save being having to catch up but I could be mistaken about that one.
12:39 I remember back in the day waking up at 4am deciphering the message for the Reggies. I gave up and I'm glad I did till I got older to use them to get regigigas. If I solved the puzzle as a kid, I would have knocked them out like I did with Latinos and Groundon. Yeah one of these days I have to replace the internal battery and start a new game.
So I might be tripping but I'm pretty sure (super vague memory) there was a specific plant in I think the villains hideout towards the end of the game that gives you a master ball. It's literally just a hidden item on a plant.
The Bike sprite could have been for a stoppie, which wouldn't have required any extra inputs as it could have just come up when the player stops inputting any directional inputs whilst on a bike. Just an idea :)
13:12 it's wrong, I changed my battery from my Pokémon Ruby some months ago and the game works fine with time events like berry's and other stuff. So you can trust and change your batterys because the game will works fine, and it's kind of easy change the battery.
Are you like dumb or something? the video doesnt say anything about game not working lol, it states that events such as berries DONT WORK while battery is dead, its more than obvius that if you replace it everything will come back to normal
I LOVED the legendary beasts encounter theme in Crystal and I always wished they had added it. Now that I know it's within the game files but was never used, it's even more frustrating
14:00 if You have a DS and an R4, there is a homebrew program to fix this, all You gotta do is set the date to the actual date of today (instead of 2000 like the Berry fix program), as your cartdrige internally never got to 2024, You will never have that problem, other "quick" fix is to restart your save file (do a hard erase, not just overwrite)
I watch too many of these videos. None of this was new info for me haha. But it's super nostalgic so I'll happily watch these pokemon facts videos whenever :)
The manga plotline is not "the canon story" for the games. The games, the manga, and the anime are all distinct timelines. Not to mention, you'd already have surf your first time on Route 120 so you wouldn't have to go back to find the Scorched Slab...
One more of these videos in which the NEVER BEFORE SEEN FACTS you've already seen dozen of times before... Extra Master Ball?! Game Lottery. Never before seen Pokémon Egg given to you?! The Egg from Lavaridge.. u_u
I don’t think that is how it works. I have never heard of it working like that and there were many other points incorrect in the video so probably just misinformation. People would not bother to change the batteries if it was like that, yet people even offer services to change the battery or learn how to do it themselves
The user manual that came with the games ruby and sapphire contained the Braille guide/list, so you could translate everything, would say that worked as a guide itself in a way
You guys didint know brendon wasnt from jhoto go to petal berg go to the bottom left and enter the house you will see a woman with her child talk to the woman and she says Norman is petal bergs gym leader i think he called over his family from the jhoto reigon
Ok, no. In the games there is a character that explicitly states that Brendan is from Johto. He said Norman moved in his family from there. You should’ve mentioned that, and not the manga, which ISN’T canon. Check your sources before spouting off about Pokémon please.
violet and lavender are different shades of purple so It's not that much of a stretch. Andit seems like violet in the new generation could be a reference to this also.
Also if the 1616 completely runs out, there is a chance to completely lose the file it happened to me lol. But along as you don't save when you install the new battery. You should be fine
I didn't really find the Regi's "hard" nor that you needed a guide for it.. Since the game came with a manual and the braille code was literally at the end of the book you could easily decipher the code on the walls to be able to catch the Regi's.
Berry glitch can be also fixed by linking the game with FR LG and Emerald! Going to gamestop sending your game to nintendo Back then, you can’t do this anymore Or simply change the battery
You can get a shiny celebi using the japanese pokemon colosseum bonus disc. The only way to get a legit celebi in gen 3, and it can be farned for shiny.
the museum "softlock" is barely even a thing, i;ve been playing emerald recently and just, zigzagoon could save that "lock" in like 2 minutes, lol but it is a cool thing, i always abuse it by just buying as many pokeballs as i can and then entering, i think there's a similar thing in GSC/HGSS before the lake of rage, a rocket grunt blocking a house using it as a like "toll booth" i did the same thing, would make sure i was broke, or go around since there was a path, lol
i got the diploma from the dude in the house in emerald, dude stole my game with 600 hours on it. on the quest to do it again. i have a heartgold completed atm
This may sound stupid but i all know all of them xD but this is also my favourite game so i grinded so much back in the day and also experimented with rom hacks
So you're telling me that Ruby game that I have been playing for 10 years. If I put in a new battery I'd have to plan another 10 years just for it to work properly? I would only do it for snorunt luckily I have a sapphire game that has the battery dried during the perfect time where I'm able to get a snorunt. And isn't a snorunt a baby Pokemon so that is actually 2.
1. You talk about avoiding the Entrance Fee at the museum but don't show any footage 2. The Legendary Beast Theme might also be a test of the sound quality. It's easier to compare music if you pick something that already existed. Iirc aome Rocket Music also exists with further strengthens this idea. So it was maybe forgotten because they did it at the very beginning. Don't forget, they games were meant as a soft reboot and they didn't even plan to include any old Pokemon. 3. The Lottery System for a Master Balk being sth no one knows? Really??? We know about this in GSC - before the Internet was "normal" 4. You talk about Beta Pokemon but don't include Shellos/Gastrodon? 5. Fun fact: In Europe Celebi was NEVER distrubuted. We also never got any special disc containing it and since the Games are region locked Celebi is the only Pokemon inaccessible in Europe. Idk about other regions but I know it 100% for Germany. I checked. Sorry, but 97% of this is common knowledge. Some facts are neat but most of this is basically common knowledge.

Thats some lore i can respect
if Whitney is the sister then that means they left like a 16 year old girl behind in johto 😭😭

Lol no one ever talks to NPCs. In Petalburg, there’s an NPC that states their new Gym Leader Norman and his family moved from Johto.
I don’t blame anyone for missing it. I only know because I’m playing through the game currently
97% of players don't know there's a shop on the roof? I don't think I believe that statistic.

The front wheelie is just an animation for the bike going over bumps I’m sure and then they scrapped that and replaced with the hop
One more of these videos in which the NEVER BEFORE SEEN FACTS you've already seen dozen of times before... Extra Master Ball?! Game Lottery. Never before seen Pokémon Egg given to you?! The Egg from Lavaridge.. u_u
A front wheelie is called a stoppie.
Why would you need to come back for that cave near the Steven encounter? You get surf well before you get to that point?
So I basically have to play my Ruby version for 900 hours to get the clock to work again 🤦♂️
I don’t think that is how it works. I have never heard of it working like that and there were many other points incorrect in the video so probably just misinformation. People would not bother to change the batteries if it was like that, yet people even offer services to change the battery or learn how to do it themselves
Sapphire (E) was my first game on game boy advance, inside the gamebox was a little magazine and had the braille system there to help you.
The front wheel wheelie is called a stoppie
The user manual that came with the games ruby and sapphire contained the Braille guide/list, so you could translate everything, would say that worked as a guide itself in a way
You guys didint know brendon wasnt from jhoto go to petal berg go to the bottom left and enter the house you will see a woman with her child talk to the woman and she says
Norman is petal bergs gym leader i think he called over his family from the jhoto reigon
It's one of those things that one would know if one would talk to the NPCs
Ok, no. In the games there is a character that explicitly states that Brendan is from Johto. He said Norman moved in his family from there. You should’ve mentioned that, and not the manga, which ISN’T canon. Check your sources before spouting off about Pokémon please.
Front wheel wheelie is called stoppie.
Wish an Emerald version would come out on switch. Relive my childhood
What about the Japanese colosseum bonus disk? Gives you a level 10 celebi I’m 90% sure you can shiny hunt, like the jirachi bonus disk in the US
No, the Ageto Celebi from the disk is shiny locked, and iirc the Colosseum OT Pikachu from the same disk is also locked
It would have been funny if they put an NPC in the scorched slab named either Sasuke or Itachi
5:14 didn’t know among us was already a thing back then
violet and lavender are different shades of purple so It's not that much of a stretch. Andit seems like violet in the new generation could be a reference to this also.
Also if the 1616 completely runs out, there is a chance to completely lose the file it happened to me lol. But along as you don't save when you install the new battery. You should be fine
We already knew the main character was from Johto. But better question is which which town or city are they from?
I believe that you’re fact about celebi is also incorrect because you can soft reset for a shiny one in Pokémon crystal and transfer it over I think
I didn't really find the Regi's "hard" nor that you needed a guide for it.. Since the game came with a manual and the braille code was literally at the end of the book you could easily decipher the code on the walls to be able to catch the Regi's.
I got the guide and translated all the words for the Regis. Ah memories.
Berry glitch can be also fixed by linking the game with FR LG and Emerald!
Going to gamestop sending your game to nintendo Back then, you can’t do this anymore
Or simply change the battery
You can get a shiny celebi using the japanese pokemon colosseum bonus disc. The only way to get a legit celebi in gen 3, and it can be farned for shiny.
"Front wheelie" its called an endo
the museum "softlock" is barely even a thing, i;ve been playing emerald recently and just, zigzagoon could save that "lock" in like 2 minutes, lol but it is a cool thing, i always abuse it by just buying as many pokeballs as i can and then entering, i think there's a similar thing in GSC/HGSS before the lake of rage, a rocket grunt blocking a house using it as a like "toll booth" i did the same thing, would make sure i was broke, or go around since there was a path, lol
When I was young I got lucky and mirage island to spawn and I was so hype, because I legit checked every single day.
These are all pretty well known things...
The front wheel wheely is called Endo
Are you sure the bike sprite isnt them riding down a slope?
He expland some role of the diffrent eyes in naruto 😂
I m already almost all of these secrets, I'm such a hardcore fan of rse
What if you were to start a new game when the battery has already ran dry. Would it work then?
Isn't it stated in the games that the protagonist's family comes from Jhoto? I swear I read it somewhere else before but it wasn't from the manga.
How can you Tell it is 97%?
i got the diploma from the dude in the house in emerald, dude stole my game with 600 hours on it. on the quest to do it again. i have a heartgold completed atm
The bike one can be possible with my boy just press b
Rewatching this and it seems new
What the hell do you base these percentages on?
This may sound stupid but i all know all of them xD but this is also my favourite game so i grinded so much back in the day and also experimented with rom hacks
Being charged 50pokedollars even when the Museum is being taken over shows us that capitalism will March on.
I learn how to read brail just to get the regi
Many of them i know i been playing this version since 2004 i still played them
Well isn’t the trainer on Blazias blaziken and lastias fusion Claire
Jeez, this video is exactly why I never click on "x number you didn't know" videos and why I'll never click on one in the future.
1. You talk about avoiding the Entrance Fee at the museum but don't show any footage
Really??? We know about this in GSC - before the Internet was "normal"
Lol I knew most of the facts already
