- That's right, I don't know how to take 'no' for an answer! Earlier this summer I auditioned for SNL for my second time! And while I did NOT book the job, I still worked really hard on my tape and so I wanted to share it with you all. For the audition you get roughly 5 minutes to showcase as many characters, impressions, accents and talents you can do. Third times the charm! Fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me-you can't get fooled again.
More important than impressions, she has shown that she can write solid new material every week.

@@gheller2261 I'd argue that TH-cam is a better platform for today's generation. TV shows are dying because of the internet. Julie's getting ahead of the curve.
I mean, they'd probably just cut all her sketches while bringing back a string of former cast members as surprise guests like, you know, all of 2021.
@@btr003 You think that people like Aidy Bryant and Kate McKinnon would have greater success in the long term had they been TH-cam stars? Yes, these other platforms are a big player, but for a comic performer there still is no better launching ground for a sustained career than SNL as long as that person is with SNL for a sustained period.
Julie is SOOO good, I feel she’s too good for SNL. She could write and perform all the parts in every skit and it would only improve that show.

I came here to say this. She is genius and too good for SNL.
I’m a 60 plus year old guy and I’ve seen her videos and she is funny and acts well in them. If she goes to a SNL show she’ll be under their yoke witch isn’t nearly as good for her. Heck she may not get in a skit? So many big established things have faltered over the pasted few years and SNL is circling the drain with the rest of the old format time scheduled things. She’s a STAR already!
She would put the rest of the SNL cast members to shame. I would start watching it again if Julie was on it.

She did one last year too, I remember thinking last year that I wasn’t sure if it was real or not. The fact she’s done it two years in a row has me thinking just maybe it could be. I would LOVE to see Julie on SNL, I’d probably start watching again for her.

Julie is too good for SNL. Her best stuff is way smarter than just Saturday night celebrity impression.
She should find her way in to be a writer for SNL like Tina Fey was. That way she can control what's being put out there. Knowing SNL, they'd probably just give her serious-character roles and all of these funny impressions would go to some other well-known SNL person.

ALL of the Julies are very, very talented and would be a GREAT addition to SNL, which has got some fantastic writers AND performers, and would be a kickass chance for the Julies to reach the bigger audiences they ALL deserve!!!!

My shrink actually turned me onto this amazing comic (and future SNL READY for prime time player) way, back when she was explaining the pandemic to herself. She's obviously far more talented than 90% of their current "players". Which is exactly how I feel watching the embarrassing waste of time it's become. You GO girl! Be part of their upcoming swan song season and show them what REAL 21st century comedy is! 😁💜👍😜✌️

I was waiting for someone to mention this. That skit was 🤮 and I think enough people realized it that SNL is going to have to start doing some brand cleanup if they want to keep their status. Julie is way better than that - talent AND ethics-wise.

I’ve watched SNL for a long time, and they’d be crazy not to take you. Their brand of humor is hit and miss, but mostly miss these days. It really needs an injection of talent for both the characters and writing.

Maybe third time is a charm. I've seen past auditions from the 'OLD' SNL staff, and they were entertaining, I watched a couple of them along with this. I guess it's not why I'm in the entertainment industry, as a scout or anything... I'd hire you. I'm glad I found you, and I hope I'll be around when you do make the casting call. You have it in you.
Never give up on a dream I always say! Also, it's a timing issue and not on your end. Like in casting or a talent agency, when they've "got everyone they need" their quota is full. It's THEM not YOU. You've got a deep pocket of characters that most people would like to see fleshed out and you will no doubt keep adding to that pocket. We are all here for this in support. Keep on, keeping on, Julie!! xo

We wish you luck in your next audition and I think you absolutely crushed this. I wonder if you wrote letters to some of the alumni if they'd have any advice for you. I definitely got a lot of Molly Shannon (Mary Catherine Gallagher) vibes w/ Claudia's first commercial and think she'd be delighted to help an .....up and coming? Newly established? Female comic/comedian/sketch performer. Don't give up!! But remember there's a pretty damn good roster of people who tried and didn't make SNL too. You're definitely good enough, now it's just about showcasing that to the correct people so you can get your foot in the door and prove that to the right people.
That was amazing. I almost spit up my drink twice. I used to be a big SNL fan, but stopped watching and now get most of my comedy from skits on TH-cam. And Julie you are by far one of the best.

You're too good for SNL. And I think you'd be limited there. Here on your own channel, you get to choose what you want to put out there. And it's all brilliant. Let's be honest, how many really great sketches has SNL had in the same length of time as Julie has had on TH-cam? It's too bad there isn't something else out there that can rival. They've just reigned for so many years, despite losing quality and relevance over time.
