I lived in Scotland for 2 years, and the only Scotts I picked up was "Hiya!" (which I hate the sound of), but the really strange thing is, my inner monologue was totally in a Scottish accent. Absolutely hilarious!!! The dialogue between these three characters was so creative, clever and funny. Even the ad at the end was hilarious, especially the part where "Julie' interrupts with her input and goes a little giddy at the thought of being a King!!!
With her acting abilities Julie could make a whole sit-com of these three being roomates or sth (srsly HIMYM who?)
I faked a posh British accent for the entirety of a summer job when I was 19. It was a blast, but exhausting trying to keep it up. I hadn't considered faking my own death, that's genius!
I always find all of Julie's foreign accents to be a turn on! I wish I could hear the chinese one too.
As a Chinese, me too
The writing & performance in this are just AMAZING!!!
Mirror Julie only knows one accent. Drunk! 🤭🤣😂
Thanks for the laughter. Love your content! 💕
Julie is so awesome. If SNL really turned her down, their loss. The mirror-alter-ego sessions are classics, that alone puts Julie way out there, but COVID episodes and this are genius-level material. She is wayyy under-rated.
Greaat video, loved it, laughed like crazy. Just one thing though: Established Titles is a scam
Even though I was curious about the Chinese accent, I like how you held it back. It gave the whole video a whole new feeling.
Well, the sponsored section of this video aged badly.
Two things:
1) I’m legit in love with the girl with that accent. Only her though.
2) This may be your best video yet!
My face GLOWED when you said Chinese accent I would LOVE to have heard it 🤣🤣🤣 I've tried to get two other white actresses to do a Chinese accent but they just wouldn't do it 🤣🤣🤣
I'm here for this. I really want to hear her with any Chinese accent.
I think that it's a double edged sword for Julie - even if there are a lot of people (including Chinese) interested in the accent, the stereotypical accent is so tied up with racism that it could lose some of her viewers (and maybe get reported to TH-cam? They seem to enforce the less problematic issues more than the worse ones...).
“ Please ladies, what do I do ! ? ! I think I can manage tonight, but I don’t know if I can keep it up! “ Hahaha! 🎉
Ok, so hear me out... you buy the land in scotland, you get the title, then you buy a ' star ' from NASA (same type of deal).. and then you go and stand on your piece of land in Scotland and say ' beam me up Scotty' in a scottish accent and pretend you have been transported up to your star...
Julie with the best adopted Scottish accent is fun and delight to watch! Julie, you are multitalented and deserve an award.
I totally love the Nolke triplets!! 💖👍🏻🇳🇿. ....and the advertising dammit....
The girls from the Questionable Relationship Advice skit is back! 💃💃💃
She’s like she’s speaking Scottish. My thoughts is , she watched the Scottish TH-cam videos. Just like me, after I watch it, I almost started to speak Scottish.😂😂😂
Yup, not the result of long practice, just watched a couple TH-cam videos and that's what came out!
As a psychologist I just have to say that this is the awesomest excuse ever (& actually totally plausible, albeit a tad rare)
As a German, I am very relieved the unspeakably heinous post-“stroke” accent is Chinese … even though, as a person who lived in China, I don’t think there is anything wrong with it
i was expecting it would be indian tho
This woman is super talented. It's like there are 3 different ppl it's so believable. The accent is so good. Great job Julie keep up the awesome work.
I needed a good laugh 😂🤣
This was great
I love how your characters are ridiculous but also believable. It’s like you’re calling out real people you may have met in your life and saying all the things you wish you could have said, because people really are that crazy.
Damn Julie, that's a great Scot accent. BTW I've been a Scottish "Lord" for a few years now, by way of your sponsor this week. Someday I may actually go to Glen Coe again, and look at my square foot. (I wasn't a Lord when I was there before.)
The other friend adds a whole other level. I love this.
Love this one! Funny, clever, no clumsy sex references, and great job on the accent!
Thank God there were no clumsy sex references, Mr. '69!
Editor Julie .... Ahem.... Your Highness King Editor Julie ... may your presence grace more future videos and brighten the days of your humble denizens. FOR THE KINGDOM!
I'm English, so I know a little something about Scottish accents, and Julie, that is the most accurate Scottish accent I have ever heard. Even puts the Scots themselves to shame.
Thank you for brightening my day. Your humor makes the world better.
One time me and a friend just decided we were gonna be Irish for a night out which was going great, until we chanced upon a bunch of Irish boys on a night out. I mean, it was still pretty great, but the stakes were _way higher._ Anyway, I don't remember how the night resolved. I'm sure it was fun.
I'm sure they were completely fooled. (Where's the eyeroll emoji?)
@@zakmartin Haha yeah when they asked us what part we were from and we both just froze for a good 6 seconds, that's the key to a good deception right there. I think I went with "... Cork?".
Glad I can scroll through the comments instead of watching the video.
I really love your videos Julie, but please make sure that you say that Established Titles is just a joke (some would say a clear scam) because it's not a real title that you get and the founders and the company is super fishy. Please do your research when it comes to sponsors because you truly can have an impact on your audience buying things without the research to back the claims of the companies (especially Established Titles). Thank you
Yeah u can't legally be Lord or Lady through it, the real question is do they actually plant trees?
Great video. The southern accent Julie uses to give away free cruises would have been a good fallback also. Also we do need to see a video sometime with a couple of the Julies physically fighting each other. Bet a couple of them have some pretty good 'Mortal Kombat' moves hidden away.
As a Scottish bloke, her accent isn't very accurate but it is a good effort.
So she doesn't sound like a genuine Canadian Highlander?
I lived in Scotland for 2 years, and the only Scotts I picked up was "Hiya!" (which I hate the sound of), but the really strange thing is, my inner monologue was totally in a Scottish accent. People would ask me something like, "Do you want to come out tonight?" and my mind would say, "Och Aye!" but my mouth would say, "Aww Yeah". I almost felt like I had multiple personality disorder.
I'm not a Scot myself, I'm not even a native speaker but I do appreciate some good accents and this one I really enjoyed.
Seriously though in my opinion the Scottish accent is one of the most difficult to convincingly pull off. I can do a convincing British one, I can do a convincing Irish one, I can even do a cliché American South accent but Scots, that's just too much for my tongue to pull off.
I liked that sneaky use of St Andrew when you mentioned the hospital…quick and easy to miss
I bought many of these established titles as gifts in years past! But I never one for myself. So I guess I am part of the kingdom? We should have a flag right?
Julie, you are so F'ing talented. Unbelievable. My jaw drops every time I watch your clips.
If it were me, you could be honest. You would have to use that sexy Scottish accent every once in a while, but we would be all good.
I just love the videos about the women who give their friend date advices 😃 Especially every reaction to the things Rebecca said
I do have Scottish heritage and find this concept really interesting! Hmmm..... also thank you for making me laugh . You literally got me through the pandemic.
I respect the amount of work that went into this! (US Midwesterner living in the South.)
Wow, the whole thing was a lead in to the commercial at the end - brilliant!
Aww! I was waiting for her 'Chinese accent' towards the end! Also, to my ears, her Scottish seemed very real. Mind you, I'm Indian and I might be going off all the Scots I've heard on the big screen over the years.
I actually got my title of "Lord" 2 years ago. My donation bought a piece of land to help an animal preserve.
I think this is my new favourite JN video. Especially after watching 6 seasons of outlander
Meg just needed to switch up the accent each meeting. Viola! She's in the clear, he's got a lot to like, and now they've got tons of material for role-play when things get freaky.
Gaaahhhd, Rebecca! Why didn't you suggest this?!
I appreciated that you changed clothes and hair styles for all characters and also for the illusion of the passage of time. Thank you, well done!
