This is why I rarely recommend lights over 500ish lumens to people, its enough for 99% of cases and they can use a regular AA/AAA (maybe 14500). When you start getting over 1000 lumens or using these larger batteries, there is generally a learning curve and people need to use them thoughtfully, not something the average person is interested in.
@@outdoorgaz5 the tiny petzl head torch I have is my favourite, all I can say is 8 year battery life with minimal usage is great, its not very bright but fine for personal illumination.
