Adding to the comment about not having fires, whether its a permanent one (there should be a stone ring for a fire and also have water/sand or something near by to put it out if it is) or not. THE FACT ITS STILL SMOKING WHEN YOU'VE ARRIVED THERE SHOWS HOW IRRESPONSIBLE PEOPLE ARE WITH FIRES! A little wind and the right conditions and thats a wild fire that'll be out of control putting people, wildlife and the fire fighters who have to deal with it all at risk! I for one don't agree with having fires, its against the wildcamping guidelines as it does leave a trace. However, this isn't an attack at you (even though I don't agree with the fire), thank you for taking the rubbish of the previous irresponsible idiots.

I didn’t come because I didn’t want to make old Benji walk that far. (Or me to be honest.) But we could have easily bused around the Isle of Wight. And ate burgers like that all day long.

Yeah you would have loved but probably had to take a few more buses than us.

Nice review of the tent, but mate, you should *not* be having fires when you're wild camping. Even if someone has had a fire before you.

I disagree for this location. This site has multiple permanent fire pits. I never damage the ground when wild camping as you can see from my previous videos. If you're safe and leave no trace I don't see the problem. On this occasion we took lots of other people's litter home.

@@outdoorgaz5 It's great that you cleaned up other rubbish on your departure, I really respect that, however I really don't think that the rest of your argument stacks up as a reasonable excuse. Others regularly damaging the area with fires (they are not permanent, the ground will recover if given a chance to) is not a reason to perpetuate it. It *is* leaving a trace. Although wild camping is technically illegal in most parts of England & Wales, it is tolerated, because the majority of wild campers are respectful. The Woodland Trust even offer the 'rules' below, to guide wild campers... • Check for 'no camping' signs first. You must respect the wishes of the landowner. • Leave no trace of your visit. *Use a stove rather than a campfire* and always take your rubbish home. • Be mindful of causing damage to sensitive habitats. • Don't overstay your welcome. Make sure you leave on time. • Do your research first. • Be considerate. A local village green probably isn't the best idea, so make sure you choose a spot away from houses. • Tell someone where you're going and for how long, especially if travelling alone.

@@deaneagerFair comment but I think people will break the rules regardless and having a permanent fire site stops so many random fire sites appearing in this area.
