Thanks for this! My toddler projectile vomited all over my controller, and it needed a full tear-down to clean & repair. This was great at showing me exactly how to do it.
Nice work. Those little springs are to pop up the front plate for the analog removal (in case you hadn't already figured it out). That Naruto controller looks amazing btw 😯
The video was great, the controller not so much. I don't know if i am just to rough with my controllers but after going through two "regular" controllers(stick drift) I figured i would put down the $200 and pick up this bad boy. Sure enough, 4 months later, the damn stick drift is back. Now they want another $30 to swap out the stick module! I give up lol
If anyone comes on here and is having the same problems, I might have found a potential fix seeming as Sony has stopped selling the stick modules (or at least most places are out of stock). If you take the module out, remove the top the thumb stick pad, get some 90% isopropyl alcohol, soak some on a queue tip and drip it into opening on top and then rotate the stick around. Make sure to clean up any dust in the area. Hold it up to a fan to dry it out - seems to have gotten rid of the stick drift for me.
This was Amazing but I wanna know are you going to make any new designs with the Dualsense Edge? It already looks beautiful but I wanna see what your brain will come up with to make it even better
6:24 the ruber adhesive thing where do you get these from I’m thinking of getting different colour shells but they don’t have that rubber on them?? It’s the rubber that presses on battery in the middle on the back of the controller
Thank you I just needed to swap the back plate with the serial number so I can return my broken controller to the store where I bought the new one from
I almost got it off but I got all of the screws off then a screw the same exact size as the others refused to unscrew and now it's stripped so that's cool
Hi! thx for video. Please let me know what audio chip version in it? Is it better than dualsense? In DS there is a realtek alc5524 chip.(logo is a crab)
Hello, I'd like to know if the coductive rubber face buttons are the same with the regular dual sense? I'd like to swap the ones in my edge controller because they're mushy and doesn't feel brand new.
Dude you're a huge time saver! I came here hoping to get a glimpse of the buttons to see if they were the same as the standard controllers, in hopes of putting my blue buttons in it. Thank you sir for such a detailed video and saving me from that lengthly disassembly and reassembly proccess! Subscribed Any chance you want to share with me the kind of paint you use to customize your controllers? I tried to do an old ps3 controller back in the day and the paint didn't hold up.
Good luck getting zak to share the paint he uses. They, along with most other controller companies don't tend to share that information. It's kind of like the Krabby party secret formula 🎉
Not that you would know, and if you might know my ps5 edge controller is pretty much brand new, and a 1-2 months in of owning it, it started making a ticking sound inside the controller. It sometimes makes some of the buttons not press and gets very annoying. I don’t know if it’s haptic feedback or something because if it is I don’t know how to turn that off on this controller. If any of yall know, please tell me.
I stumbled across your video because it took me all of two solo rounds in Fortnite to go looking for a face button mod already. If anything, I miss the eXtreme Rate face and shoulder mods on my standard controller. I would already prefer tactile face and L1/R1 buttons on my dual sense edge. Never heard of your company before, but I will be keeping an eye out for mods from you now.
@@jordanparrish4640 actually yes! It’s definitely an h ethical hack though 😭 my brother used to work at target and he just mentioned to me to buy a brand new control.. as long as you still have all the bits and pieces, maybe clean it up a bit if you need to (they never really check) you just take it back a few days later and return it! No need to feel bad or anything, it’ll never go back on the shelf, target will send it back and they’ll take it apart for parts. You can just say you made the purchase and idk, had to take your cat to the vet and need the money back
The downfall of these controllers are the paddles. They are very sensitive. Specially, if you are sweaty player, I cannot begin to explain how the mechanism on my controller paddles broke, but it did. it was absolutely a headache to take that sensitive mechanism out and fix it. I was able to do it by what I believe was a miracle, but Sony created another problem by adding paddles, and not being able to replace the mechanism of of them
It'd be nice to see how you remove the two shoulder buttons. But instead you do it so fast I can't even keep up with you. Let alone see how you latched on to them without breaking them.
I remember back a few years ago I got upset at call of duty and I threw my PS4 controller. The R1 button flew out of the controller, nothing else was wrong with it, and I popped it back in no problem. Try that 😂 (just kidding obviously) 😉
@@GraveMemories I haven't thrown a controller since the days of Nintendo 64. If you want the nitty gritty on that one I can make it short and sweet. I see the controller and it hit the TV bounced back and knock two teeth out. With how slow everything functions here in Kentucky It took a year to get those teeth taken care of. Needless to say I learned my lesson the hard way.
Literally no video I’ve seen shows that there are 2 screws behind the L1 and R1 buttons that you have to remove before you can take the back plate off. Thanks. I broke it now. Don’t be me. Remove L1 and R1 buttons first
🤣🤣🤣, people think that those modular analogs are a good deal. Nut they are just ripping of their consumers with a problem they know is persistent since the ps3 and now is worst . They created another markey for a product they know will fail. It can be solved with hall sensor analogs, but that will cost them too much money, a lot of people buy a new controller instead of replace the part. And sony is very aware. Curiously xbox uses the same analog but the fail rate is so minimal
You can’t just tell people to start prying at there L1 and R1 you dummy🗿you got to do it a certain way to unsnap the clips. Your gonna have people completely breaking it. Cmon bruh rookie mistake
I do believe he said something along the lines of "if you're watching this video and going to do this, I'm going to assume you are already mechanically inclined and confident in your skills". Anybody with any experience disassembling electronics, especially those housed in plastic shells, knows damn well not to "just start prying" at stuff. If someone doesn't already know this, they shouldn't be pulling their $200 controller apart. People need to use their brains. If you're going into this thing just prying away carelessly, you deserve whatever bad happens to it. 🙄 Accountability is a lost art these days

So where’s that vid on reassembling this now that we’ve followed along 😂😂
Put the video on reverse
Just rewind it
@@BIGMANOBAY😅😅😅 I’m here also looking with my jaw dropped 😂😂😂😂😢😢😢😢
Tik tok brains man…..clearly you can rewind it

@lazamodz Can you go over the back paddles and how it’s designed since we see a lot of failures with the back paddle triggers breaking please

I love doing teardowns cuz i been fixing and soldering controllers since ps3 lol and here i am i bought a $200+ controller just to tear down lol 😂😂😂😂
Yeah, i thought the regular dualsense was terrifying to disassemble. Add more mechanisms, screws, and let's not forget the $200 price tag on these...
Thanks for the video, it help me a lot!
at 7:40 by any chance you know that part is called or know where to buy it?
The I got 6 of the 9 screws in the back out but I can’t get the other ones out any idea how to loosen them 3:46
Thats a lot of work just to get the faceplates and start and back buttons out
If i were you guys, this would be a nightmare to work on. God speed

Can you swap the duel sense edge touch pad with a regular ps5 control touch pad
Excellente vidéo.
Merci, bravo.
Thank you I just needed to swap the back plate with the serial number so I can return my broken controller to the store where I bought the new one from
Goat
Now can you make the buttons and triggers klicky......??????
Xbox-style?
Can you take out the battery and play with it only wired? I only play wired so a battery is useless to me
Had to do this because I dropped it and now the r2 button feels funky when pressing turns out the r2 button just looks chewed on gotta replace it
I almost got it off but I got all of the screws off then a screw the same exact size as the others refused to unscrew and now it's stripped so that's cool
From how I explained it. Can you assume what may be wrong wit my LB button?
Is there a way to take the front plating off and nothing else, I have a sticky o button and need to clean it
Hi! thx for video. Please let me know what audio chip version in it? Is it better than dualsense? In DS there is a realtek alc5524 chip.(logo is a crab)
is there an easier way to change the rubbers than taking hole thing apart ?
The yellow one looks really nice, I would like to have it too. Where did you buy or order the parts?
We do not buy or order parts. We customize the existing genuine, Sony, OEM controller.
Hello, I'd like to know if the coductive rubber face buttons are the same with the regular dual sense? I'd like to swap the ones in my edge controller because they're mushy and doesn't feel brand new.
Do the thumbstick modules disassemble easily?
Same Alps modules?
Does anyone know how to get a stripped screw out of the back of the dualsense edge?
does anyone know if there could be a way to make it lighter without removing any important hardware(like motors and gyroscope) ??

The clips on my controller broke while taking it apart for the back of the controller can replace it with a new back shell
Where did you get that magnetic Matt from ?
What do you think I should do if my back buttons are not clicking and how can I fix it?
Did you find a solution mine did the same thing
How different is the PS button ? Can you swap it out for a standard or none standard Dualsense PS button ?
My LB button is stuck. Literally just pressed it to hard in a match dropshooting & now it’s loose. Did I possibly bend something?
Did you find a solution?
My pause button is getting stuck 😞 I just need to know if I can open up the front side to fix it

Those blue ribbons are $2 a peace on 3rd aftermarket shops for businesses. I find all ribbons for cheap.
Can someone who has one possibly take it apart and post a picture of the inside of the R1 and R2 buttons
Dual. Sense. Edge. Controller disssembly. How. To. Teardown
Do you sell any parts?
Only watching this so I can just take the front cover of the Dpad so I can put a circle style dpad in if that’s possible

That's pretty much the point of it.
