@@UberMicroRepairs Thanks for the video. I feel like we should be able to find these readily on the market somewhere.. I mean, the technology was around decades ago, was it not? Any id where someone like myself could find them?
The trigger’s definitely feel like they’ll be the first to go on mine as they don’t feel nearly as sturdy as the rest of it, looking at it on the inside I think players with a death grip will have issues. One great thing about the triggers is I didn’t notice the switch from digital as much as I thought I would because you can adjust their sensitivity. I’m no pro but I’m not bad at CoD and other than having to break in the stick modules I’m having no issues at all and being able to quick switch to my sniper profile is 🤩
It's a nice controller and compared to a Elite Series 2 the Edge is more like a Swiss watch where the Elite 2 is a Casio G-Shock. Both do the same thing but in very different ways.
Those little springs assist in pushing up the thumb stick cover when you slide the release. Not absolutely essential, but I lost one doing the same thing and I’m pretty annoyed about it.
Great tear down video! I recently had the back right button (RB) break. It doesnt reset back to position after pressing. I use the paddles and now the one side does an excessive amount of swivel. After I watched your video, I'm assuming the small pin hinges on each side of the button that connect the the small white colored retainer pieces had broken. Do you happen to know where I can purchase replacement parts for a repair. I've had the controller for less than 3 months so Sony is going to repair it under warranty but after the repair I'll be out of warranty and I feel it may happen again. Thanks!
do you think you could explain why the housing for the paddles could become loose so easily? sent my controller in for repair and after a few hours having it back, the right paddle housing is loose again 🙃
The paddle housing is metal, however the axel it hinges on is very fragile and breaks. Unfortunately these aren't available to buy as spares. I've seen many DualSense Edge with broken paddles.
Face buttons on mine are so mushy I think I will send it back. This video seems like it takes the deepest look but looks difficult and the buttons are what, supported by a membrane like in some keyboards? Is that even something you can fix?
Hey Uber 👋 I have a controller I usually mod one of my controllers with exyremerate and after tinkering with a soldering iron just with the 2 wires on the analog the right trigger seems to not be working same with the right bumper. It's not the ribbon cable I think and I've tried both regular triggers and my clicky neither seem to work do you know what could be causing the problem?
@@williamparis3628 this is so frustrating. just got mine back after getting the right paddle repaired and it's already feeling sludgy again. i've altered the way i press it now and that's working but i know it's gonna go out again soon. so disappointing
@@williamparis3628 yeah, I just opened my controller and fixed the button (a little piece of it had came off and I superglued it back on). Such a shame that song used plastic for a part of the button. After so much wear and tear its bound to break.
Hi! thx for video. Please let me know what audio chip version in it? Is it better than dualsense? In DS there is a realtek alc5524 chip.(logo is a crab)
yeah.. Sony REALY don't want people to open these things! I've done it... and will continue to do it while repairing them.. But doing it with out marking the plastic takes mega skill!!
Sony is out of stock on thumbsticks. 3/18/24
We have Hall Effect solution in the works.. Should be announced in the next few days!

Fantastic teardown and awesome commentary.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you.
Great reference video for anyone attempting to disassemble one of these controllers, a keep for the favorites vids..👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you like it.

Great video mate looks very well built
Yep looks nice feels nice.. Don't think it will take a bounce off the wall too nice though! 😆
Brother. I have been watching your channel grow, and learning from you. I appreciate you, and i feel your big break through TH-cam is coming
Thank you. We appreciate the support and encouragement. We're trying to get out there offering solid repairs and seamless customer service.
Does look hi quality.
Quite a lot of metallic instead of plastic mechanical parts that will hopefully hold up to the ware and tear of heavy gaming.
Very different to the Elite 2. Will be interesting how it holds up to real world use.

I ripped the microphone ribbon cable on the right. Can I purchase a ribbon cable to replace it or something of that sort?

Extremerate sells replacement ones.

I would recommend you send it back under warranty first. You are correct the button construction are like a standard keyboard.

Do you know what I can do to fix my back buttons if they are not clicking.
Mine just broke too, hopefully there will be replacement parts available somewhere. I've had no luck so far finding a source.

@@JayFox128planning on opening mine .. does the part look like it can be machined out of metal? 🤔 might be a permanent fix for it.
Closing the back button is ticking me off, I can’t even close it…
do you know if it is possible to take off the rumbles on the dualsense edge?
Yeah they can be disconnected no problems.
@@UberMicroRepairsdo you have to remove anything else to remove the rumbles?

Time will tell.
