Femke Bol vs. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone || Women’s 400m Hurdles Showdown - Paris Olympic Games 2024
For a very long time, the track community has been eagerly waiting for a clash between Dutch sensation Femke Bol and the two-time Olympic champion Sydney Mclaughlin Levrone in the 400-meter hurdles. But for some reason, these two have kept dodging each other and denying us the juice of what one would consider the biggest clash in the world of track.
Of course, for those of you who have been track and field fans for a while, you already know that of the two, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has stood out as the queen of hurdles, dominating the women’s 400 hurdles with record-breaking performances. But in the recent past, Bol has risen as her primary rival in the 400 hurdles. However, it’s been a while since these two battled on the same track.

Hup Femke🧡🧡🧡
🤣🤣🤣🤣
We Dutch Bol fans expect silver for Bol, but hope for gold.
I expect a win for Bol. She has set a new record.
Sydney has the edge but Bol is pushing her really hard, meeaning that if Sydney is not at her absolute best,Bol will win this. Amazing race! Hup Femke!
50.65 versus 50.95 that’s a lot in one race!
@@virgilius7036 yes,but Bol is constantly dropping her times, which means that Sydney needs to bring her A game or she won't get the Gold.
You’re absolutely correct. The big difference to me is Sydney took a year off and has only ran 3 races this year. In the 3rd race she ran 14 steps to hurdle #5 and dropped down to 15 and still broke the WR. She has a lot more in the tank .
Last time they met in a major meet was the 2020 Olympics? You may want to check out the 2022 400m world championships that you grabbed a clip from. World championship is kind of a big meet.
Of course, we look forward to the race. But I do not think you have to overdo the hype.
Femke is not looking for “revenge“ - when she lost four years ago, nobody expected her to win.
And I think you are incorrect to refer to them as “arch rivals“. That really cannot be applied to people who have hardly raced against each other.
My heart says Femke 🇳🇱
But my head says Sydney.
We are very lucky to be able to watch two such fantastic athletes
Come on Femke you can do it in a new record time !!
I expect Sydney to win, since she is consistently faster than Femke. Being Dutch though I do hope for a miracle. The reason why they seldom meet is due to the fact that Sidney hardly ever competes and when, only in the US. That works for her, while Femke needs competition to improve. It has a good side though, it gives Femke the chance to win titles like worldchampionships both indoor and outdoors.
Development of the difference in their PB's 2022: 1.59 seconds, 2023: 0.8 seconds, 2024: 0.3 seconds....
I think Sidney has the edge, but hope Femke will win. I simply like her better, cause she is out there and runs a lot of races. I hope she can run a new pb in Paris.
Sydney is dope.
Sydney still has the best times, but Femke is closing in fast. Till so far she had no competition this year and did not need to run her fastest possible race. Each race run the last 100 m smiling and was not really tired after the race. She may have some extra speed in reserve. If it will be enough to beat Sidney? We will have to wait until the race is finally there.
Femke is gonna smashed the world record
Et maintenant, que dites-vous ?
I hope those 2 are becoming friends.
Lets hope for a miracle and Femke wins
No miracle, just plain class.
@@T_Hillmannthey are really close, there's no miracle needed
@@T_HillmannNon, la 3e place.
Hope none of them chokes....than its going to be an awesome race
If they are both at their best this will be thé final of this Olympics. Being Dutch of course I want Femke to win. But I’m also realistic and I think Sydney is just too good at this moment. Looking forward to this!
no matter who wins.. i hope its a close race..
I hope that FEMKE BOL will win in PARIS .
Q can Bol run a 50.98 after 2 rounds in the Olympic under stress? IDK I know Sydney can.
Insane? 0.30 behind Sydney, its a gap in a run, 50.65 versus 50.95 for Femke!
Real queen of not showing up for a race other than in Eugene.
50.37 world record is showing up.
Nice video but facts matter. The 50.95 was not the season opener for Femke and they were never scheduled to compete in the open 400m in Budapest.
? Not the season opener? May I remind you that McLaughlin opened her season with a 52.70?
@@rientsdijkstra4266 What is the significance of that? He said Femke’s seasons opener was 50.95 and it wasn’t. That’s not being cruel or dishonest. I didn’t mention that it was actually 53.07. I think you misunderstood my comment. I said facts matter.
@@lasvegas4164 ??? Ok, I think we have some crossed lines / miscommunication here. If I was mistaken: sorry for that. Shall we let this one rest?
Sydney will make Femke best second. She is on different league of her own.
We will see! But of course you may be right
Re-run old news
of course Sydney will WIN. it's a given. just look at the difference between them. then take your head out of the clouds.
Things happen , no one knows , that why these are great sports , one never knows until it’s is …
Ah so you say: just scrap the race and hand the medal to "Sydney".... 🤔 There still is a race to be run, and the winner of that race will get the medal, nobody else.
Femke is the best
