Nice review, Good looking quartz divers, but I prefer Citizen’s Eco-drives if I’m going quartz.
Truthfears Guilty why is that? I don’t like the comic themed watches but their Promaster collection is great. I have a few and can’t find a fault in them.
Seiko is a over hyped company with some serious QC issues and no sapphire crystals either. They’ve put all their quality into the Grand Seiko line.
Truthfears Guilty is just a fanboy of Seiko who lurks and comments without a leg to stand on.

I had a Citizen ECO drive watch. The battery died after 2 years.
I grabbed one of these on a promotional deal, in the UK. It's a great watch. Faultless in operation, fantastic bezel action and very smooth screw down crown. The general finish of the watch, exceeds, the asking price.If you're looking for a cheap quartz diver, These are very good indeed.
Not bad for the price. But prefer eco drive quartz. Pretty nice looking. Good review Marc.

I have owned this watch for 18 months and consider it a serious dive watch. The bessel has good grip when wearing dive gloves and nice action. I love the lume and the matte, pewter like, finish. I typically wear mine on an orange NATO strap to compliment the orange minute hand.

Thanks for the great review Marc. I have been looking to add a Phoibos to my collection and today I pulled the trigger on the Ocean Master 1000 from your site. I am happy with quartz watch movements and I think I love the look and feel of this piece. I know I love the price. I have the CITIZEN
Promaster Professional BN0151-09L and I know some say the two pieces are about the, " same" but I don't think that is the case. Once I get the Phoibos in my hands I'll see how it holds up. Thanks again for your great content as always...Cheers!
Update: I love this Phoibos PX005B Ocean Master. I switched out the rubber strap for a stainless steel engineer style bracelet and that put the watch over the moon for me. My Citizen BN0151-09L is not seeing a lot of wrist time right now :( Thanks Marc for a great review on a great watch at a great price. Keep up the great work!

I own a Duro it's nice for the price esp with a Bond NATO but the bezel is super hard to rotate and the lume is weak

A little FYI to y'all. These are pretty much identical to the DeepBlue Pro Sea Diver from five years ago (minus the NH36). Nowadays it's known as the Ratio Freediver 1066KE20-33VA and available from Creation Watches Singapore ;-)

Not a bad price if it really is 1000 meters water resistance. If I went quartz it would have to be solar rechargeable like Citizen Echodrive

Looks like a homage to the Citizen BN0151-09L. Since I won't be using all the dive features and purchased it for 105.00, I'm happy with mine. Nice review Marc. Always enjoy them!

Phoibos is by far the best entry level option. From the Ocean Master I have to say it is the best dayly beater for surfing and going to the beach. Aloha!!

Hi Marc, would be very interesting to see this pressure test compared to a certified 1000m diver. I'm guessing the equipment is highly specialist for these types of tests, not easy to get hold of.

I wish you could still get any Phoibos watch in Quartz still. I only discovered the brand recently and all their Auto offerings are completely out of my price range. These watches and the Eaglemaaster GMT are really interesting as quartz offerings.
I see quartz as an advantage. Probably could do without the basically useless He escape valve, but still great watches, great review.

Agree with the comments below. Problem with a quartz diver is that battery changes are very expensive if you want to retain the water resistance. Less need to take the back off an automatic

Looks a lot like Citizen Promaster...also excellent plus solar.... keeps the water tight integrity by not having to remove the back for battery change-out. About the same ( actually a bit less) money......

It's not though. It's like a bright blasted. There's no graining to it from the satin process.

They are beautiful and great values. But, I would be more tempted if the movement was solar powered. Getting the watch pressure tested with every battery change would be a major pain.
Wonder if they could source Seiko solar movements.

You can do different 'levels' of blasting. Here is a picture from Motor City Watch Works: motorcitywatchworks.com/images/bead-blast.jpg. I had him do one of my watches in the Hi Light and it was fantastic.

Can this watch resist 1000M? Was ever tested by a watch expert ? 200$ is a good price, Phoibos watches are very nice , but I wonder can realy resist a 1000M? These watches can sell in Europe?
