    The knowledge you share here while tumbling then exuberantly examining your stash makes this info so absorbable . Better than any classroom AND Sooo Pretty. Thank you. GBY

    That’s going to be on my wish list…a vibratory rock tumbler!(or maybe a used tile saw). I laughed out loud 🤣 with your “my precious” line. I spend many mornings just looking 👀 again and again at the rocks I have collected, while my dog tears around the yard.

      Nice! Tumbling is great, and the vibratory tumbler is awesome for getting it done quickly.

    That was fun! Jealous of your pet. wood for sure. Do you have a rotary or vib. tumbler? Sorry if I missed that info. ROCK ON!! 😁👍🏻🪨⛏️

      Yep, I use a rotary for the coarse grind, then a Lot-O vibratory tumbler for the rest!

    I just finished a batch today
    All local stuff, like my driveway etc
    I’m always surprised! Still learning what things will or won’t polish! Your batch of rocks is so beautiful

    I’ve tumbled rocks from Lake Superior, MI, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Wyoming and now from Montana’s Yellowstone River. I found Michigan rocks from Lake Superior are the easiest to tumble since Mother Nature has done most of the work and the rocks from Yellowstone River are the hardest due to all the cracks and indentations. I still love tumbling and have so many beautiful rocks placed throughout my home.

    • @KatyDidRocks
      @KatyDidRocks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks to Currently Rockhounding, i purchased a fabric spray cleaner that works great for shooting the muck out of the cracks. I actually like the not-totally-smooth texture of the rocks, as long as i can get them shiny. :)

    I have a large glass bowl I keep all my polished rocks in, it makes a great centre piece and my granddaughter always gets them out and looks at them. A lovely array of specimens you have there... I totally agree you could look at them all day 😊😊😊😊

    I love the natural shapes and flaws! The hand of nature is beautiful to behold. If I ever get a tumbler it'll be a vibratory tumbler. Thank you for sharing this!

    • @KatyDidRocks
      @KatyDidRocks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would definitely recommend a rotary tumbler for the coarse grit - but the vibratory tumbler is AWESOME for the polish!

    • @nickcaruso
      @nickcaruso ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KatyDidRocks I have this aesthetic preference for irregiularly shaped stuff partially shiny and partially rough... I was hoping I could skip the rotary step and maybe do some hand polishing of the rough spots after the lotto.

    Well that was fun to watch. Really like the sodalite. The red jasper w/lots of stripes & small petrified wood came out very nice. That Montana agate will look gorgeous as a pendant! Is the term seam agate interchangeable w/ water line? Thx for sharing this with us. Hello to Jim & Kava. God bless.

    Hi Kate! I was actually browsing Etsy when I saw your new video. I am looking for interesting stones for pendants. Jasper never disappoints with so many varieties. Ever consider selling some of the little guys for pendants that? I'm in Ohio, so besides tumbling up some flint and one chalcedony piece, it's not super interesting. What a great collection of beauties you have today! My favorite color is brown btw. So many shades. I love the petrified wood you find also!
