Big Boss is a terrible commander. Imagine, sending a soldier into the field with no weapons, no rations, not even a pair of binoculars. Edit: I commented before finishing the video. I think it's still a valid point. Snake should have known something was wrong when he was deployed with nothing. Also love that Big Boss refers to the enemy as "the enemy," after revealing he's a traitor.

Megaman is a robot with an arm cannon who can adapt the weapons of other robots. Solid Snake is a soldier who was sent into the field with nothing but a radio. They're not the same.

It was a long class, but I enjoyed it. Never have seen the original Metal Gear, only familiar with the more modern versions. These are always so interesting to watch.
Genius video and a great homage to one of my favorite games of all time! Its flaws added to the mystery of the game. Played this A LOT when I was growing up. Thanks so much for making this video - my 6 year old enjoys this game and this video! I also discovered new radio conversations and getting zapped in Building 2. In Building 4, you could get zapped and killed really fast when you have the Infrared Goggles on! See if you can find this - hint: it is the ray right up against the left wall. Check the way! Over.

Yeah they give you the frequency then the first couple times you call her you get these gag messages that she's in the shower or out shopping and you're thinking... what?
I wrote this game in. :) Big part of my childhood playing this one. The map that came with the game laid everything out for you nicely, too! I never saw the Big Boss message for the p0lastic explosives before, so that was neat! 1:10:17 Interesting. The game really expects you to have done this building before the Coward Duck portion (and likewise get Ellen before rescuing the Dr.) Beat this game a lot over the years and probably should do it again!

Could I offer a suggestion for a future video? River City Ransom. Perfect game for you to cover, with plenty of stuff for Blaze, Fluff and Scary Gary. Easily one of the best NES games ever.

There was a glitch too inside the truck 5:19 If you use the binoculars while inside the truck you can see the enemies inside building 1 just press up down left right ( one at a time)
I had this as a kid, but never got too far. Doesn't help that I treated it like a run-and-gun. But now that this class is in session, I can do my homework this weekend! 😉
That cover art jumped out at me, but I like to hold my comments until the end in case they are addressed inside already. But yes, I definitely recognized Kyle Reese at the 1:15:34 mark. Not sure if I would have been able to beat this one as a kid; fair play!

I would love to see you do a video on Clock Tower. I loved the later games in the series, but never had a chance to play the SNES game. Also it’s based almost entirely on one of my favorite horror movies 😄

Yep you're correct on all counts in that it's been well covered and the MSX2 is superior; we just brought everything to know about this game under one roof and shared a ton of interesting facts during the walkthrough.

You are/anyone is more than welcome to play the game without the hack and following this walkthrough demonstrates everything someone needs to learn to beat the game without it. The fact remains that it exists and it wouldn't be an ultimate guide without displaying how it's done. And for most players who aren't anywhere near as familiar with the game as you, it's extremely helpful in an extremely difficult game.
So I've been hesitant to say this, but the way you show pictures on screen, especially during the "Fluff Facts", the actual gameplay is blocked and can't be seen. It's frustrating. Good work otherwise, I do enjoy your videos.

Ahhh this game is the bastard child of Metal Gear made for the nes North America The Famicom verison once you play them there is no Turing back to this verison . The sequal however for this game was Amanzing. Still however once you play the Famicom games by Hideko the NES verisons of Metal Gear are sadly inferior by far. However give Hideko credit for Metal Gear V for the first part at least. He at least manage to make a story line addition making you play the fake verison of Big boss aka The Diamond Dogs etc so the NES verison can have an actual Place
Yeah it's too bad Konami and Kojima parted ways before he could finish MGV, it has a ton of promise before it starts to repeat itself (a byproduct of him leaving).
