    This Geeza is the bollox would love to work with him for a week .
    I’ve commented in the past on one of his posts and got a great reply too bloke .
    But I’ve been plastering for 15 years also done a quite a bit of lime work on listed buildings but I’m loosing alot of work as I haven’t tried silicon render yet really need to do it but I do sand and cement work got a job next week that would be ideal for thin coat customer had someone in who done monocouch and cocked it up now They want me to do all sand cement instead . Plus I got 2 houses need rendering in next month wish I could do thin coat need to try it . Keep up the videos mate best plastering videos on here 👍👊👏💪💪💪

    Have worked with all the acrylic finishes for 20 years here in the states the depth is determined by the size of the aggregate in the finish,a small amount of water is good 4,6 oz and if it's a hot day 25 c or above 2 men on each lift will make life a lot easier, priming the wall before finishing is key stops pin holes and kills the suction 👍

      Yea defo some are stickier than others, we use different amounts with different products, yeah it’s got to be primered for flashing also, we like to spray not hand apply but it’s been cold and we needed warming up 😂👊🏾

    I prefer spraying also I've bennu x15.
    But only problem with spraying needs to tape up like a forensic site.
    Hand applying tape also but not as much as spraying

    How long do you leave the base coat to dry before applying the thin coat?

  • @kaimichael5444
    @kaimichael5444 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good advice as always.
    I use mostly baumit thincoat and Vpi.
    But I think baumits the best personally.
    Basecoat I really like also
    Kzp 65
    Starr contact
    Mc55.

    What brand you using bud and does that accelerator cut down working time or cure it quicker I’ve been court out with top coat with rain getting to it the day after

    • @Rendervate
      @Rendervate  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is baumit top coat it’s a slow setter, but the accelerator helps it skin over the top, it’s Johnstone’s accelerator used there good stuff, if the weather is up at 6/7 degrees you will be sound with accelerator for next day 👍🏽

    • @bluevanmani
      @bluevanmani 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rendervate cheers for reply we normally use tc15 but good to know what other products are about. Would you still put johnstones accelerator in k-rend silicone ?

  • @R9K7
    @R9K7 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi mate so are you just putting on a small trowel full then open trowel to take it all back to a paint like thickness with aggregate and colour left behind?
    Cheers dude 🤜

    • @Rendervate
      @Rendervate  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kind off that way mate, what the open trowel does is take the thickness down to the 1.5 - same size as the aggregate in the material. Then you move over what you scraped pal 👍🏽 you want it tight as possible to get the best Finnish

    Your technique is great , and the finish looks great too! But please can you tell me what products you are using, what is the thickness of the basecoat, does this need scratching, what tis the thickness of the top coat and what is the timescale between the application of base coat and top coat ? And finally does the product you are using come in various colours like 'K' Rend, or does it need painting afterwards? Many thanks

    • @Rendervate
      @Rendervate  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lots of questions haha, it’s baumit top coat, you apply it then rub it up with a. Flat trowel, that’s the finish. Get as many colours as you want. Base coat is as thick as what it took to get level I’d say around 8mm

    • @krissymclellan1978
      @krissymclellan1978 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you need to scratch the basecoat or is this render better applied on a smooth background
