Wasn’t sure if there’d be another vid today, glad to see there is.
Last one for the day, 2 more planned for tomorrow, then either 1 or 2 on Sunday. I don't want to flood too many at once.
3:27 this is fairly common and is actually present in the current live version of the game. Jets that allow a targeting pod, whether or not it’s thermal, have “IRST: Auto tracker” listed in the menu. Furthermore, if you mount TV-guided weaponry in the hangar, the list will include “TV: Auto tracker” as well. If you mount thermal Mavericks, like on the A-10 Late, it shows up as IRST: Auto tracker” also. Finally, if you have a targeting pod *and* thermal-guided AGMs, the “IRST” part will show up duplicated since you technically do have two separate IRSTs, as defined by Gaijin; the targeting pod counts as one, and the thermal mavericks count as another.
So this is what I found/know.
F-16C has the wrong amount of total countermeasures, instead of the Viper having a total of 120 countermeasures, it only has 60.
The F-16C leading edge flaps are not always active as they should be since the computer is always adjusting in irl under mach 1, at the moment it still uses the same system the current F-16A's have where leading edge flaps are only active at 380 knot and under. When they should be active all the time at all speeds under mach 1.
The F-16C's cockpit is not yet modeled as expected from gaijin, but it's HMD is literally just a MIG-29's HMD but yellow, when it shouldnt, it should be the F-16's HUD but as HMD for situational awareness while still have HMD of radar lock and Missile lock especially in the Block 50 model.
MIG-29SMT the only issue it currently has is in the RWR there is no missile warning system, as for other aircraft like the F-16 and Mirage 2000 have a missile warning system, MAW'S will let you know, but the RWR the enemy radar locking you will start to blink indicating that a missile has been launched at you.
F-16C's Night vision is not currently working either, HMD is.
And it's supposed to have HMD for Radar as well, it has it in DCS (DCS has done the work for us).
Yes was about to say this JHMCS definitely cues the radar on helmet slew.
Also I think the RWR is incomplete because if you fly the ADF out in the dev server there boxes for CW below the RWR so it lets you know how you’re being illuminated.

My big gripe is that Gaijin didn't give the 2 extra pylons any missiles, i'm not concerned about no amraams, I see the "Balance" point, but it makes me so mad that we can't have 4 9Ls and 4 7Ms or 6-2 or even 8-0. there's a point of no ARH missiles but not being able to carry the correct amount of missiles is beyond stupid.
From what I understand, Gaijin is still not settled on what block they want this plane to represent. I expect some of the minutia to change before the update goes live, but .. as always .. some technical inaccuracies are likely to come with it anyway.
IRL the SMTs RWR has no way to tell you that a launch occured, only once an ARH missile goes active. It instead uses passive sensors with limited range that detect the bright flash of a missile engine ignition.
The new flares look great. They have momentum to them now instead of just popping out and dropping straight down.
If I'm not mistaken the gold tint on the cockpit is there to reduce radar signature by preventing radar from bouncing off the inside of the cockpit. I wonder if the reduced radar cross-section is modeled in-game
No, it isn’t, you can lock wood planes and biplanes even tens of kms away, there’s zero stealth mechanics in game.

@@ruskie8308except it is, smaller RCS targets indeed show up closer (you will be able to lock an F-14 further than an F-16, also see it further), the radar screen ALSO shows the size of the target IRL, for example on the mig-29 for a smaller fighter you get two bars next to each other, for a larger fighter three, for a bomber four or five. On NATO radars, this translates directly to the size of the blip on the radar
I'm disappointed that they didn't add the aim-9m. I don't think it even has the off-bore sight capabilities as the R-73s. However, I do believe the m has better flare resistance.

Well it is gaining. They'll add the better Russian variants first then release a balance patch later for other countries. That's how it's always been
If they un-nerf the AIM-9L and give it better flare resistance, it should be more than enough. A proper AIM-9M would be better than the R-73 in its current state, and keep in mind we have many more american aircraft that can take the 9L than russian aircraft with the R-73... although I wouldn't be surprised if at the end of the year Yak-141, Mig-23MLD and Mig-29A get it as well
with more planes being added with SEAD/DEAD Capabilities and the new RWR, i wonder when i could expect to see SEAD Missiles like the Shrike.
HARM should have come with the F-16C Block 50
I mean.. We're now at aircraft that carry the AGM-88 so...
@@RedTail1-1 but plenty can carry the Shrike and Eastern counterparts, like Su-25T
What I’ve noticed is that the obviously the fuel state hasn’t changed, what has is engine efficiency. There clearly a fuel burn boost, though it also seems to burn fuel quicker on afterburner with this engine, so it won’t be a bad idea to still bring full fuel.
I’d also say closer to 800kmh IAS, between 700-800 is ideal, below that you can cache in your energy for a shot but it will really bleed speed.

The radar_sarh might be an addition so the game can display information on the new RWR.The radar would probably send a "missile launch" command in the game engine.

I’ve been asking for RWR improvements for literal years at this, and I’m happy to see they’re finally here. It was my single biggest ask before they added improved Fox-3s to the game and I’m thoroughly convinced that AMRAAMs and their equivalents will be coming to the game at the end of the year
It’s a pretty much inevitable that in the next update or two that we’ll get AMRAAMs, and I am very much looking forward to it

these top tier matches are great when you're fighting alone and savoring the adrenaline of going against a 1v1 or 1v2, but its not worth it when you get ambushed by 8 people at the same time while in the middle of a dogfight. i hope gaijin adds way bigger maps like in Falcon 4.0/DCS or they lower the top tier matches to less players. im prob gonna unlock the 16C and never touch it again cause of that

Hey Tim, are you going to make a new tutorial video for the RWS only or will that be part of the new updated radar video? The new features have made it look more confusing to me especially on the new Mig29smt.
I haven't decided. I'll have to update the radar tutorial anyway, I may split the RWR off into its own vid, not sure yet.

IRST: Auto Tracker does not, and has never, meant that the vehicle included IRST that you can switch to for targeting like radar, as confusing as that is. It's for bombs and AGMs.
It should have a HMD for Radar as well, DCS has done all the homework for us, it has it.

@@awesomedinosthefirst3494 i'm not sure if you've heard, but DCS used to have a problem with leaking documents as well, the difference being that the devs actually looked into the docs and used some of the info from what I remember hearing. and also the fact that unlike war thunder, DCS is a simulator, not a "realistic" combat game

This plane. Looks so god dang amazing. The only thing to compare is the grippen. It’s just so nice to look at. The one thing that disappointed me a bit is that the engine should look a little more rounded at 100% throttle but it looks more straight like the A model. But it might just be the way I’m seeing it in the videos. I just really like the way it looks irl for the 16c. Like the sliding flaps on the engine just look a little to long. But its whatever I suppose. And I think it’s supposed to get more counter measures as well. It’s even textured just not implemented. Or maybe those are just random squares. But once again idrk what I’m saying at this point so it’s whatever.
Is the informative RWR only going to be on the new F-16 and new Mig-29?
gaijin always has to do something wrong, the f-16 c has 120 pieces of countermeasures as standard, there are ejectors for all 120 countermeasures from the bottom of the plane

I can’t help but feel like 11.3 aircraft such as phantoms, tornados, and mirage/kfirs are going to be helpless against a vehicle like the the mig-29Smt. Perhaps bump it up also with the F-16C to 12.7 when the Amramm comes and they have their amazing radar missiles. I can let this one slide for now since 11.0 aircraft will get a small breather.
Russian bias for the win this update, best plane with the best missiles. (Also poor Israel still doesn’t get any sparrows like the F-16C which is stupid, at least have it there until the amramm comes…

With all the planes and tanks your in the middle of researching, is the research getting wiped, calculated in the discount or left where it is?
I'm not sure. I actually left two vehicles at 98% researched (and verified on the spreadsheet that they're coming down in cost) so I can check if the RP reduction finishes the research, or if I lose some points to maintain the percentage.

Would love to see this style of video on the Israel F-16D bl.40 Barak II. I'm a bit disappointed that Israel is still without a bvr capable aircraft, but I'm also very happy to see a dual seat F-16.

I didn’t enjoy the 2 F-16s we had before, with the changes to FM and just the better F-16C with HMD and stuff I think I will like the F-16C, I guess I have 2 new top tier planes to grind once the update drops.
It really should have the next generation Aim 9/7 And AGM-65s.

I'm gonna be a bit shocked if this f16 really comes out of the gate with just 2 sparrows and 9l's it would be ridiculous. I mean the 27er has been the best missile in the game for a while now and a donkey could get a kill with it. And now they get an even better missile im having a hard time with this.

Adding blk50 without jammers, 9x or at least 9m, 120b, 120c, datalink and all other electronic warfare stuff it have is like having Micheal Jordan in our team in basketball match but forcing him to play on his knees, both legs tied up xD
HMD on f-16c looks very very useful
If it's indeed gonna be 12.3, it means I can finally start to use the Japanese phantom at 11.0 and not being uptiered 99% of my games.
I don't know what Im doing wrong with radar but when I try to lock something, the little square is halfway off the right side of my screen.
It is really annoying, I have to crank my plane like 90° to the left to get the lock then re-center on the target to fire the missle.
You can't just add more vehicles and put them at a higher BR. You need to add more BR ranks in the first place and spread everything out. This is just going to make the compression worse and worse. .3 BR higher than current top tier... yeah.. That will help..
Yep... my feedback to the snail was that they need to bump the BR cap to 12.7 **at least** with this update.
Damn they really said no new weapons for you let’s just fix the only weakness the r27T had and give the ET to the jet that’s also getting what’s probably the best IR missile in the game(yes I know the python and maybe the 9L have more range neither of them have anywhere near the same flare resistance and the thrust vectoring of the 73 means it’s pulling ridiculously at low speeds)
R73s are easy to flare. Tons of videos of them being flared off with 1-3 flares. Stop holding down throttle.

We know that the F-16 only turns at 900km/h, but thats the problem....
one thing u forgot to mention if u have less fuel u turning is much faster then running full tank I say u should run around 30 or 20 for me 30 works best

Now it looks like they have finally decided to change the F 16 and make it turn better the f 16 a is a beast 14 g, at Goodspeed now it’s great. Except all the mig 29 players who claim the mig 29 can out turn the f 16 in real life.

The HMD was not on the original Blk 50. The HMD for the F-16 came out in 2012. I hope they remove it and save it for a later variant of the F-16.

What a shit show, they have given us a modern (post-2000s) F-16C with HaveGlass V coating, the apg-68(v)7!? and its stuck with aim-9Ls... wtf were they thinking. Shoudl've just done a late A/early C model, would make a lot more sense.

why the fuck would i play this if the ADF is literally the same thing just slightly less powerful, the F-16C doesn't even get any extra missiles or anything unique about it, its boring and bland and i wish we got an F-15 instead im tired as fuck of playing F-16's
