Recently I found Einhander for the PlayStation in perfect shape with everything at a Goodwill for 1 dollar!....but the best find ever was a few years back a stack off Japanese Saturn games all for 5 dollars about 15 games included was Radiant Silvergun, and Castlevania SOTN, at a yard sale
My dad was a huge RPG buff back in the SNES's heyday, so I have a bunch of normally expensive RPGs, like Super Mario RPG, Lufia II, Chrono Trigger, etc.
Lol, if we're inconvenienced by a new Game Sack vid coming out at night, we're ungrateful bastards. Bring back Dave (for another episode or two, I know he has family and work stuff)!
I have a complete copy of Suikoden II, and it's one of my favourite games. I got it when it was new and affordable, but now it's worth quite a lot since it's one of the rarest Playstation games.
I agree, Einhänder is absolutely amazing. I bought it IMMEDIATELY after playing it on a SquareSoft demo disc. It's also available on the Japanese PS3 PSN Store for $10 JPN. Totally worth it!
Wow! Prices have changed sooo much over the years. I personally own over 800 PS1 games which I collected in '06 - '07 when GameStop was trying to get rid of them & the average price was $2 per game cuz they were all on clearance.
I had a rare game until Atlus did a reprint. I have an original copy of SMT3: Nocturne (limited edition including the soundtrack) on PS2. It was going for around $80 disc-only when I bought it. I found it complete at a GameStop for $55 so I snatched it up quick. A few months later, Atlus re-released it. It can now be had for less than $20 on Amazon.
I love the comments to these videos; 50% of them are people making stupidly insulting, rash comments and they do a COMPLETE 180 degree turn on their arguments or insults once GameSack responds to them, good job disarming troll commentators with your words whoever is in charge of the GameSack channel comments.
Dear Gamesack: I discovered your channel by accident maybe 2 weeks ago. I got hooked instantly and have watched every video you guys made. You seem to be getting better every episode. Gongrats! Keep up the good work!
The rarest and most valuable game I own is one you guys didn't talk about - Dynastic Hero for Turbo Duo. You're lucky if you even find the english version being sold at all. I managed to find it FACTORY SEALED, which is pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I had to pay $600 for it, but I'm probably one of the very few people who owns a factory sealed english version.
hello gamesack, long time watcher here.. I remember when I started watching, I also watched avgn, all your history and such.I want to compliment you guys because over time I stopped watching the before mentioned shows due to a decline in quality, with gamesack its the complete opposite, it just gets better with every episode! keep up the great work!
Some rare games I own include Earthbound on the SNES and Suikoden II on the PSX, two of my favorites RPGs ever. Fortunately for me, I owned these games when they were cheap and just watch their value appreciate over time. Of course, like an impulse buying dummy, I also had to blow a wad on games like Snatcher and Popful Mail for the Sega CD. I kinda wish I hadn't done that now... Of course, Dragon Force on the Sega Saturn is really fun though so I got my money's worth out of that.
well, if you have bought the games and are playing them, id say they are worth it :) I always say that one hour playing a game returns about 15 dollars to me. thats roughly the price and the time spend in the cinema. If I buy an expensive game, well then I better get the worth out of it by playing it for a certain amount of time. Its only a waste if you buy a crappy game and pay too much just because it is rare
Don't you love that feeling... finding out something you already own is now worth lots of money? Found that out recently about El Viento. It's not as pricey as Samson but it's $100 or more.
I remember picking up the US Magic Knight Rayearth for the saturn CIB with a bonus ram cart for 100$ years back. When i feel sad about the choices i have made in life i just check the ebay listings for it, picks me right up.
12:25 I think its the theme that makes that game so liked. I mean, its such a cool concept being able to evolve semi-realistically in a videogame! reminds me of darwin's island mod for Warcraft 3
Thanks for Little Samson, it's been months since I was trying to remember that game's name to get the rom. I'm 35yo and played it in my childhood and couldn't remember it's name for my life.
Wizborg i never really heard of many home computers. i will take the time out of my life to find out what that is, buy an Atari 800, and then take over sega
It never fails. After some time without an upload I think, "Man, it's been awhile since the last Game Sack. Wonder when the next one will be." And within a day after thinking this there is always a new episode released. Fricken awesome!
Game Sack what I hate about it: you can web swing across the top of the level and bypass all the enemies. The good thing about it, I paid $100 for it complete with box and instructions. Now I have all the 32X games.
Am I the only one that finds Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver ridiculously overpriced and for no reason? Its more expensive than the original pokemons for the gbc.
They did indeed. In DKC if Donkey Kong is running and you press jump, he jumps. It doesn't wait for an animation to finish to smoothly progress into a jump. Spider-Man probably isn't as bad as I make it sound concerning the animation, but it did seem to get priority over good controls.
Okay, just want to say that I started watching you guys a month or so ago out of a mixture of boredom and a random suggestion by TH-cam, and that I am a fan. Also, in my experience in watching TH-cam video game reviewers that you guys seem to have a lot more Video Game knowledge and are closer to 'true' classic gamers than some of the more popular TH-camrs, which is a shame that you're not more well known. Keep doing your thing, and I'll keep watching. Peace.
Seriously EVO was a game with such a good concept that people just want it to be good, I wanted it to be good, but its just not. I tried and tried but so many times I found myself saying "wow, they really fucked this one up".
"Little Samson" is the American fanfic name someone in a North American office came up with while hung over one morning and thought would be a "Swell idea". The "real" name of the game is approx. "Legend of the Holy Bell" Oh, and I've never played Duck Tales 2 on NES, but the part of the clip showing Launchpad and Gyro calling Scrooge "Uncle Scrooge" instead of "Mr. McD(uck)" just grates on my nerves for some reason. He's not their uncle ffs, who let that slip through? Maybe they actually did that in the show and I just dont recall? It doesn't seem plausible.
I think Valora Valley Golf for the Saturn is a rare one. I have a copy, and it's a cool, fantasy style golf game where you shoot over lava pits, through winding canyons, and up enormous mountains to the green on the very top. Crazy stuff. I think it was a port of Wicked 18 on the 3DO too.
Interesting note about the Cotton games! The protagonist of them (Cotton) actually shows up as a recruitable unit in another game made by the same developer, Rondo of Swords for the Nintendo DS.
castelvania legend should be in the main story line. She has babies with alucard and their children are the Belmont. Stupid creator did not like the fact that the main protagonist in that game was a girl.
I would say Snatcher but you already did that in the Sega CD episode and gave it its proper fanfare! other rare titles I seen around were Jack Bros. on the Virtual Boy, Earthbound on SNES, Flintstones Surprise at Dinosaur Peak on NES, and Mega Man X3 on SNES, which I enjoyed immensely on the Virtual Console on Wii U!
CheapSushi Not all games have been uploaded, I like to have the real games, I dont know, it is more fun playing the "real thing" to me, but sometimes I try them in emulator before I buy them. And sometimes I have not found the ROM, maybe I need to look better or it is because maybe most games that are uploaded are probably US releases? I mainly have Mega Drive games though. But I think most games that are not available on the net are not so important or fun maybe. For example Outback Joey, but the new releases i dont think is available, and I think that is good that they are not available, so the makers can make atleast some money on them.
I love you guys show so much. My most "rare" game is probably Dragon Fighter for NES CIB, that I snagged for basically nothing at a yard sale. It was in a five gallon bucket full of a NES, Sega, and like 10 games. I payed 3 bucks for the bucket.
A rare Neo Geo Pocket Color game is either English version of Faselei! It really pushed the system's hardware limits. The US version was not even officially released, but there are still some copies floating around. SNK got bought out by Aruze while SNK was preparing the game for a US release, so the bare, unboxed cartridges went into storage until they decided to get rid of all their old NGPC systems and games. They started repackaging the systems in blister packs which included six bare cartridge games. Some of these blister packs included copies of Faselei! The game is probably the rarest and most expensive US NGPC game. I am trying to eventually complete a US full set, and this will probably be the hardest game to get.
Great episode! The rarest/most expensive games I own are probably: Shining Force III, Shining the Holy Ark, Shining Wisdom, Resident Evil (Saturn), Shining Force CD, Robo Aleste, Lunar Silver Star Story, Lunar 2 Eternal Blue, Dragon Warrior IV, Tomba 2, ActRaiser CIB, ActRaiser 2 CIB, Final Fantasy 2 CIB, and Final Fantasy 3 CIB.
I only have Duck Tales 2 form that list. I'd like to have Little Sampson and EVO though. Other rare games I own are Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, Amazing Tater, F1 Pole Position (The GB version that's really rare for some reason), Flintstones dino peak, Action 52, Caltron 6 in 1 and Power Blade 2. I do have a few more but those are the highlights
I bought Waynes World for the NES for 5 dollars at a computer shop. The guy tried buying it back from me for 30 dollars before I could leave. Also found FF7 for PC in a really nice long case for 3$ at a goodwill. Great video! Thanks for making my day better!
Rarest games I have in my collection are Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, and Team Buddies. That's just for the Playstation 1 alone.
I loved E.V.O., but I do remember some frustrating parts and that I would sometimes turn off the music. There was still something about the concept and atmosphere that draw me in.
Machical chase on the pce & gameboy color looks and play's AMEZING, in fact i like how game developers dit get around the single layer background by deviding that single layer background into straps and move them at individual speed,or they let the cpu do the frontground while the gpu does the background,or they use sprites or a combination of both. CONCLUSION,you don't need 2 background layers to achieve paralax scrolling.
Only one I can think of off the top of my head is Suikoden II, which is a PS1 game which has dropped in price, and you can now get it for around $120 with the case. The price for it used to be around double that, and even then if it's in factory condition, you can expect to pay more than double.
... I am always ever so excited when a new video of you both poops up in my subscription page....not that you tell me something I didn't know yet but seeing two people being just as crazy about vg's like me....
my most valuable game is The Legend of Hero Tonma for the Turbo Grafx-16. I paid $20 for it used back in the mid 90s. It now sells for around $800 just for the loose HU Card. Mine didn't come in the flimsy plastic tray that new copies had but instead came in a standard TG-16 hard case with homemade label on the side
Another exceedingly rare one for PC Engine would be Darius Alpha. It was a Japanese promotional release that was basically the game turned into a boss rush, and even 15 years ago I was seeing copies in Akibahara shops for over ¥100k. Now the eBay prices are getting pretty close to $3,000 for a copy.
i spent a week searching if you guys made a new video. It was about time. You're fun and relaxing. Grabbed my coffee and enjoying the show as we speak..
I can't believe it!!! Einhander??? I bought that game new & not to mention the memories that game brings!!! Wish I'd never gotten rid of it! I also owned duck tales 2, and it sucks to know they hold more value now :(!
I assume you're talking about Spider Man since that's the only game in this video with pre-rendered stuff. It's not about the size, it's about the animation. Sometimes you need to wait for an animation to complete before controls are responsive. It really depends on the game. For example it can take a few more frames to jump after you press jump if the character needs to crouch first, etc. I was talking about the general controls, not collision. Collision was mentioned in Sonic.
Ufouria is a game that was only released in Europe on the NES, and it's great in my opinion. Also hard to come by, and no less than 100 bucks online for cartridge alone. I might check out some garage sales, haha. Might also look for Little Samson, it looks delightful!
In Japan, I believe the most expensive game that wasn't some kind of special edition or prize is Rendering Ranger on SNES. Apparently it was only sold at Virgin Records stores, which kinda puts it in a special category. A clean complete copy will get bid up to 200,000 yen on Yahoo Auctions, which by the current exchange rate is around $1800. Looks like a pretty bland Turrican clone with some space shooter sections to me though.
Most valuable game I have is Gotcha Force for the Gamecube. Got it complete in box for $9.95 at a used game store 7 months ago. Very good game that I'd suggest to everyone, if it wasn't for the $80-$120 price tag.
It's amazing sometimes the deals you can snag. I got a copy of Duck Tales 2 for $14. In that same trip in fact, I got Darkwing Duck (which is semi-difficult to find, but nowhere near as hard as Duck Tales 2) for $24. My copy of Duck Tales 2 would be worth more if it wasn't plastered in rental stickers. It still runs, but I've been told by multiple places for the condition of the stickers it's worth no more than $40-50. The rarest one I have altogether is Snatcher on the Sega CD. Got mine for $200, in-box but without the instruction booklet. However, I have a friend of mine who has the booklet and box (lost the CD).
Trexxit That's the issue, it's smack on the label. On top of that the actual label itself is in bad shape. They flat out told me no collector would buy it for their collection, and they'd just move along and drop the extra money for a good condition cart.
That's some good hearing, I had to re-watch that segment three times just to figure out what you meant. As for my rarest game, I have both Gungrave games on PS2 and an actual boxed copy of SHOGO M.A.D on PC.
EVO! Yes! One of my all-time faves! I totally get why people don't like it, but I just do for some reason. The weird story, the grind for evolution points, the awkward combat. I don't know, something about it I just totally enjoyed. I get why others don't enjoy it, though.
Little Samson appears to share some sound files from The New Zealand story. One of the shooting sounds is identical to one from that game (both from Taito)..
Awesome video guys. I've been a gamer for about 25 years but only been a serious collector for the past 8 months...I don't really have any super rare games but the set I'm proud to own are dragon warrior 1 through 4, cib. Which I didn't really pay a lot for...I got all 4 for 200 bucks and they are in near mint condition
Skies of Arcadia Legends is one my favorite RPGs and a complete version must be hard to find cause they're so damned expensive on Amazon. I'm glad I kept mine.
I picked up Ogre Battle for snes for $15 from a thrift store. It's complete with box, manual, map, and an old Blockbuster game case (this is complete with typeos) Last I checked it was going for $50-$80 for the cart alone.
ohh my got. i was born in 1978 in Kyoto Japan. yes i lived in golden age of video games. i am impressed & amazed by you guys's enthusiasm. So maniac.
Dope alien bro
i discovered this channel today and have been going through episodes for the past 6 hours....
.... my life...
Batraghor Narrations I thought that too but the more i saw them the more i found them funny
Batraghor Narrations whatever man, I think it is pretty funny :P They are trying to make the acting cheesy and corny.
Powdered Toastman
I can't tell you how many hours of my life I lost to this channel, especially right after I discovered it. You are not alone.
Babbleplay / definitely not. I’m on my second or third go around right now!! 😝
Just remembered these guys today.. now I been missing all these episodes for 8 years..
Damn, dude. You're so lucky.
Bumbler Interactive
Einhander was awesome loved it, and all of the square games of that era.
I wanted Einhander when it was new but could never afford it at the time. Same with Nep turf masters and a Neo Geo.
Omg Einhander??? You lucky bastard!!❤
My dad was a huge RPG buff back in the SNES's heyday, so I have a bunch of normally expensive RPGs, like Super Mario RPG, Lufia II, Chrono Trigger, etc.
I release them a bit after midnight my time. Sorry if that's an inconvenience.
Lol, if we're inconvenienced by a new Game Sack vid coming out at night, we're ungrateful bastards.
Bring back Dave (for another episode or two, I know he has family and work stuff)!
No, that alone is AWESOME stuff. Neither of us are ashamed of our love for game music.
This one has one of my favorite endings ever. Everyone I knew had a friend like Dave there doing that lol.
The comedic endings are really satisfactory. The icing on the GameSack cake you could say.
Magical Chase looks so adorable!
I have a complete copy of Suikoden II, and it's one of my favourite games. I got it when it was new and affordable, but now it's worth quite a lot since it's one of the rarest Playstation games.
I found a copy of the Misadventures of Tron Bonne this spring for $2 at a thrift store. It commands $200 currently. Such a great game!
An updated version of this episode would be great!
This might be one of the most well produced show on TH-cam.
My favourite episode so far! Please make a follow up!
It's 2021 now and Chi Chi's Pro Challenge Golf CIB sell for around $7 now. Just wait a little longer.

@@skylar_gray well that would be because Joe is the fucking man! I can't believe it's a decade I have been watching Game Sack, that's insane!

$600 for a game you can't even play. Awesome.
Considering the not surprising revelations about WATA graded games that come out in the last few days, that end skit is even funnier.
I didn't know ducktales 2 was rare, I remember getting it when it was brand new and I agree it was a great game
hello gamesack, long time watcher here.. nice find. I love that moment when you are in a thrift store and find something like that. It takes everything to keep from screaming for joy.

It's more like an updated version of ECO on the Amiga.. :)
Wizborg never heard of ECO or the Amiga
Perfect Chaos
What!! I can understand not knowing ECO, but the Amiga??? The ultimate in home computers in its day??? Sacrilege!! Kids these days!! ;)
Wizborg i never really heard of many home computers. i will take the time out of my life to find out what that is, buy an Atari 800, and then take over sega
I was also thinking that this is pretty much Spore.
for me its a tradition to see my subscriptions every month and see if there is a new gamesack episode, i love your show guys :D
Spiderman's webs attach to the giant web above Manhattan.
Game Sack episodes are how I realize two weeks have passed. I'm not sure that's a good thing...but it's a damn enjoyable thing.
Thanks! We've known each other since the 80's and have been doing idiotic videos since the 90's. :)
It never fails. After some time without an upload I think, "Man, it's been awhile since the last Game Sack. Wonder when the next one will be." And within a day after thinking this there is always a new episode released. Fricken awesome!

That music gave my testicles cancer.
The 32X is always dying.
I got my EVO for $8 at a flea market around 2008/9. Absolutely insane how it goes for $150+ nowadays.
Am I the only one that finds Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver ridiculously overpriced and for no reason? Its more expensive than the original pokemons for the gbc.
That's with every DS Pokemon game, sadly its high likely because of the huge demand.
They did indeed. In DKC if Donkey Kong is running and you press jump, he jumps. It doesn't wait for an animation to finish to smoothly progress into a jump. Spider-Man probably isn't as bad as I make it sound concerning the animation, but it did seem to get priority over good controls.
E.V.O was quite ahead of its time. Its freaking Spore in the 80´s! For that alone the game deserves some praise.
90's.. but yeah, I disagree with about everything they said about it. oh well.
Oh, sorry. I tend to throw 80´s and 90´s stuff in the same category.

Instead of spending all that money, just get emulators to play those games on pc.
Or, don't break the law and wait for them to drop in price. Fuck your emulators.
Brady Yes, because by collecting used games you really support the developers. Unless a game is released to buy digitally, emulation does no harm.
lol like if nowadays game companies give a shit about some nerd playing old games on an emulator...
People need the original to upload the emulated version, no? I wonder if the entire gameography has been released. Are any missing?
CheapSushi Not all games have been uploaded, I like to have the real games, I dont know, it is more fun playing the "real thing" to me, but sometimes I try them in emulator before I buy them.
I'm still waiting for the second part of this, you guys rocks!
Thanks Dave. Hard Off is a chain of used goods stores in Japan where I curently live, they always have a TON of games and consoles for dirt cheap.
The price for it used to be around double that, and even then if it's in factory condition, you can expect to pay more than double.
some went up in price. Persona 2 Eternal Punishment is now $80 complete
***** yeah i sold my suikoden 2 for 80 bucks complete to level up games in the hamilton mall NJ. The guy offered 48 originally like an asshole.
I love Evo!! i hated it when i was a kid at 1st but grew to love it.
Sly voice "You could even print out your own" .. this is why I love Gamesack haha
I remember buying Einhander brand new, still play it occasionally, the music is indeed awesome
i spent a week searching if you guys made a new video.
I only started collecting recently, but I have a few rare ones, such as Zero Wing and Moonwalker for Genesis along with Mars Matrix on DC.
about 10 years ago, I remember seeing Zelda Ocarina of Time for the N64 factory sealed on Amazon.co.uk for £400 !! it was crazy
Game Sack -- Where I come for the awesome game reviews, and stay for the Les Nessman style pronunciation of Chi-Chi Rodriguez.
Oh Shantae. I remember seeing that in the store brand new and passing it up when it was released. DAMN!!
Discovered your channel about a month ago and very much look forward to your fortnightly episodes, Keep up the great work guys
I found a copy of EVO in a local trading shop. I loved that game as a kid. Beat it in a rental but it was pretty cool.
TenEightEP
try goo gone unless its on the game label...
Trexxit That's the issue, it's smack on the label. On top of that the actual label itself is in bad shape. They flat out told me no collector would buy it for their collection, and they'd just move along and drop the extra money for a good condition cart.
dude, that marble madness song was responsible for dillinger escape plan
My rarest is Panzer Dragoon Saga
Also, we need a follow up. This is the best episode yet!
That's some good hearing, I had to re-watch that segment three times just to figure out what you meant.
As for my rarest game, I have both Gungrave games on PS2 and an actual boxed copy of SHOGO M.A.D on PC.
The fist one is like a the fantasy zone and wonder boy mixed.
EVO! Yes! One of my all-time faves! I totally get why people don't like it, but I just do for some reason. The weird story, the grind for evolution points, the awkward combat. I don't know, something about it I just totally enjoyed. I get why others don't enjoy it, though.
I don't care about how rare a game is, I only care if it looks fun and if it happens to be rare oh well.
Amazon is the worst place to check for retro games
+moviemetalhead He's right. The prices there are hilariously inflated. You have a much better chance checking eBay daily.
Lol I did the same thing with Ridge Racer, used to listen to it all the time on my CD player. It was the game that introduced me to Techno music.
I picked up Ogre Battle for snes for $15 from a thrift store. It's complete with box, manual, map, and an old Blockbuster game case (this is complete with typeos) Last I checked it was going for $50-$80 for the cart alone.
