The way you talk in your vids calm me down somehow and kill off any fear to mess something up in my car, very therapeutic! Would love to see oil pan gasket job at some point! Hopefully, only a preventative one
😁 that’s a new one😁 yea oil pan gasket replacement video will be here in a week may be 2 weeks😉
Tim what a treat to watch these videos on my old car!!! 👏👏👏👏 I still miss it so much but it has gone on to a better life
The best parts are yet to come😁
I admire your confidence/skill in using an impact to tighten everything, even into plastic. I’m always scared of stripping the stupid plastic like in pretty much all my cabin air filter cover screws. 😅
When you do it every day you get to know your tools, i haven’t stripped a bolt in years😁
Very nice! N52 is a great powerplant with just a little care.
Suspension work will be interesting. Bilstein B4? Sachs? Lemforder or TRW control arms? Can't wait.
Will get to all of it in the next video😉
You the Man! Tim SUPER AWESOME content. Very greatfull you reviewed that Launch scanner, watching the CTM live data was🤯💥 replaced cowl sensor reached...from pick an pull junkyard. I tried posting the link in comments to a PDF i found on Internet for e93 complete convertible top. Very helpful but i guess TH-cam wouldn't let it post. Top Hydraulics Inc is the company
I had the disa valve on my 2010 BMW X5 with the N52 engine do the same thing got the flap out and I’m so grateful that the pin didn’t go into one of the valve
Oh yes i have a story when i found the pin blocking intake valve a while back, may be i’ll share it someday😁 car was fine after removal of the pin
Good video Tim , take some advice from old mechanic and buy or make a trolley bench , save your back and having to work on the ground.
lol the disa breaking off inside the manifold is crazy, but glad shes clear on the dash and running good! and glad to hear about the shocks coming!😁
Thanks maestro ...👍👍
🙌
z-man another great video bro I was just thinking you came a long way, 🔥💯
Thank you much more ahead🙌
Man with skills
SIMPLY YOU ARE DA BEST!!!!!!
Thank you😁
For people who hasnt changed starter motor more than 5 years, it would be better to replace starter motor and crankshaft position sensor when you remove intake manifold as you are already 90 percent of job done. Starter motor/crankshaft position sensor is 200 dollars for parts and you dont need to get stressed for next 5 years lol
As always, very well done. Good job. What scan tool are you using or recommend for this old DIYer? Greetings from the Old Jarhead in WNC.
I use icarsoft cr ultra for now, for diys i recommend either launch creader elite 2.0 you can check the review i’ve done a few weeks ago or icarsoft bmm v2.0
I BMW x6 2010 road 70 and go down
50 can go up to 70 do you now what happened please
My car has around 183,000, I was about to buy a valve cover gasket but some people recommend buying the valve cover itself as well because they tend to crack. Do you recommend buying it as well? What website do you recommend getting my parts at? I usually use FCP Euro.
Valve covers on this engine crack rarely but it happens, i would recommend pelican parts for all your bmw parts since they get parts from same place i do and fcp is not a reliable source in my opinion based on what i saw. Getting a new valve cover would be a safer bet since you can only inspect for cracks once it’s out, it also has built in pcv which at your mileage would be better to replace
👍👍👍
What codes did you get exactly for running lean? That’s the only code on my n52 and i’ve noticed a dip in the mpg
Hey tim. My car has been running lean for the past 6-7 months. I changed the valve cover, the ccv hose, both brandnew disa valves, O2 sensors, and i changed the injectors with gb manufacturing injectors on my N51. But it is still running lean and the fuel trims have been high and the check engine light has been been driving me nuts for a long time now. Lmk what i should do ill wait patiently for ur reply thanks!
I’d recommend doing smoke check, lean conditions can be hard to trace and solve
What scanner do you use ?
This is icarsort cr ultra
