I was going to bring this to game night tomorrow, but I haven't read the rules yet. You just motivated me to get it to the table ASAP! :-D I was already excited to play it, but now I am extra psyched! :-)
My group has LOVED this one! We've already played through one campaign, and they really want to start another. The story/Saga elements and the Sea Dogs really shine when you are doing a campaign with the same group of people! We're very excited about the 3rd expansion coming to Kickstarter in August and can't wait to start another campaign when we get the new expansion content!
Not a fan of campaign stuff, but I threw all the stuff from campaigns in + Seadogs. Very different game every time. We had a game where we both had an additional ship, and in another game I got destroyed by kraken several times. Very fun game, easily my favourite game of all time.
When you say to add the Saga cards for even more theme do you mean the ones not in the tuck box or the ones in the tuck box or both? I bought my copy of this second hand and in the Saga box was some cards loose (bound together) and some in a tuck box.
@@DriveThruReview OK, thanks I'll take a closer look. I definitely had a small pack of cards that was just wrapped up together as if it was something separate in the Saga 1 box but, as I said, I did get this used so hard to say if they were some sort of extra or something.
One of my favorite games of all time. Played over 20 times (mostly solo) and just started a solo campaign and having a great time. The campaign encourages you to go after different achievements and level up different characters, which I appreciate. Can’t wait for the Saga 3 expansion next month on Kickstarter. Really wish there was a 5th player expansion.
I've only played this 4, and okay we were 3 new players, but it seems a bit long at 4 for what it offered. Just picked up a 2nd hand copy still though.

They should all come in a tuck box afaik. Some are like unique crew members though. Not those.. just the extra island/story cards.

Play time definitely tightens up with experience.
Yeah our first play at 4 was about 4 hours.
Sounds pretty good. Did you by any chance try the co-op mode?
I have not. Just solo.
