Lyrics
A cloud appears above your head
A beam of light comes shining down on you,
Shining down on you.
The cloud is moving nearer still.
Aurora borealis comes in view
Aurora comes in view.
And I ran, I ran so far away.
I just ran, I ran all night and day.
I couldn't get away.

Back then, we couldn't wait to get to the future. Now, we just want to go back.
That may be true. But even being there, like we were, would we like it back then now?
You wouldn't be in the market for a time travel machine... would you?
Why is your comment not NUMBER 1. 😍😍😂
Sad in'nit?
The 80's and 90's were the future, we're now living in the post-future decline.
My mom told me this was one of the songs she listened to the most when she was a teenager, I listen to it in memory of her

There's A Video Where The Band Shows How To Play The Song!!!!
You all are legends. Love you all.
Me too. I did it just before you did though.
There are two generations of nostalgia here; those that lived in the 80's, and those of us that grew up playing Gta Vice City.
fuck, that is exact point here
Make it 3, those who watch Regular Show.
Yep!!! I lived and breathed the 1980's as a time of effervescent times of complete melancholy and nostalgia .... Yeah !!!
Make it 4 for the ones that remember Fez singing it on "that 70s show"
Of course I heard it in VC first, but such a reminder in The Americans!
Songs like this just make you realize how much time has passed…
Paul Reynold being a geek and cool at the same time. Very underrated guitarist. What a legend
The 80’s was the last decade where you actually believed the future was only going to get better.
That's because "our" millennials we're just babies and there off spring screwed up gen Xe'rs were not here yet. Who's at fault more the millennials or the X'res?
Gen Xers messed up because they were given more than any other generation and didn't learn anything from the boomers. Instead they went ahead and sold out followed the same path instead of blazing their own paths.

Very much so
Maybe not definitely one of them for me, but it is one of them.
Why you commenting this on multiple videos?

Yep - kick ass guitar from an era where synth was gaudy king.
At my age, sometimes it feels like this song gets really diluted-it’s been on so many 80s comps over the years, heard so many places, etc. it almost starts feeling generic. But anytime I stumble upon the music video, I find myself hearing the individual components again, and am reminded of how freaking awesome this song really is, and there’s a reason it got played so much. …And sometimes I end up here and just rock out to the entire song like I’ve never heard it before. Calling myself out for ever having stopped paying attention. ^_^
That lighting fingered lead guitar is just from another planet 🦠
Supposedly Edward Van Halen and The Edge(U2) really enjoyed his guitar playing. That is a big thumbs up if totally true which it seems to be.
Whenever this song comes on the radio and im in the car, i blast it full volume and jam the fuck out like nobody's watching. Then when i come to a red light i realize im looking like a giant jackass, a 6'6 black man singing to an 80's electronic rock song. Can't help it though, something about this song and cruising down the road with the windows down gets me hype.
blacc beard this song is a classic. You realize that black people listen to all types of music. Turn it up!
To be honest if I saw anyone with 80s electronic music playing in the car, I would have mad respect for them.
blacc beard My arm would stretch across three lanes to give you a high five.
+blacc beard . . . Sounds like you've got a little skinny white punk trying to get out ! Better beware they're vicious buggers if let loose.
blacc beard who cares? Watch September in a movie called the Intouchables. The black guy's a GREAT dancer (in another clip, also Earth, Wind and Fire) but a horrifically bad singer :) I do like that it's not Auto-tuned, tho. It makes it real. I sing professionally, and I like the off-key one better than I would the fake one. :)
besides, black guy's are ALWAYS cool! Look at the Gap Band. They play so well, no one noticed they'd look insane if they were white :) ! And being told your music/voice "sounds like a black musician" is a huge compliment.
