  • Here are 2 new ways to brew your coffee kombucha so that you can actually drink it. I say that with some fun as some people feel like coffee kombucha is just too strong with too many flavors. These 2 methods tone it down.
    All of my coffee kombucha is made with 6 cups of coffee and 3/4 cup of sugar
    1st Method
    I use starter tea and NO SCOBY. just starter tea. Usually a cup but 1/2 a cup works as well.
    2nd Method
    For the coffee I'm reusing coffee grounds. For this video I just saved the coffee grounds from the 1st method. But usually I would save the grounds from my morning coffee until I had enough to make 6 cups.

      Haha 👽⭐🪐🌠🌌 koffucha will get super fizzy. Just a warning, those old koffucha bottles can explode. It almost happened to me again this week. Be sure to burp them every so often. Explosions are not fun to clean up. And can be potentially dangerous. ❤

    Thats it I'm in . As someone that eats chili's like jalapenos ect everyday I find that when I have a nice chili buzz going on in my mouth coffee tastes even better. I think the chili stimulates the taste buds then the coffee tastes awesome so I am going to do a 2nd ferment with fresh chili. I have tried it with kombucha and it was spicy so here we go. Great videos with a little bit of fun.

      Hello and I am so sorry for the late reply. I just found a bunch of comments I never replied to. How did the chili koffucha turn out? I am very curious to know.
      I lived in Phoenix when I was a young adult, in the early 2000's. I found this beer called chili beer. It had a red chili in the bottle and maaaaaaaan was that stuff spicy. I gave some to my dad he loved them. He even brought some back to the east coast to enjoy with fresh crab. Definitely not a beer you'd want to get drunk on but for some flavor with a meal. You'd probably enjoy that one.

      @@KombuchaLiz Turned out great. Koffucha is probably my favorite now. Flavored with Scotch Bonnets is awesome but I have found after awhile the lovely Scotch Bonnet flavor disappears and the spiciness remains. Still experimenting. To be honest my first batch was with raw booch that I (gasp) added 1 180 ml can of ready made espresso coffee that contained 10% milk to 1/2 liter bottles (please America catch up and use the metric system) and added 1/2 a scotch bonnet to each bottle and it was really really good. I let 1 bottle age for 2 weeks in the fridge to see what would happen to the milk and it was all good .Then I added espresso INSTANT coffee to the next batch and added 4 single serve packs of stevia per liter to sweeten as the yeast won't eat that along with the chili and I'm enjoying that . I have started a proper koffucha brew that has only been going 4 days now and that tastes great already. Once again thanks for your advice. The beer sounds great.

    • @KombuchaLiz
      @KombuchaLiz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rattlegunz5650 I hope you don't mind cursing because GOD DAMN I wish America could catch up with that too. I cringe every time I write 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup because I know it only applies to USA. And miles. Why, why do we have to use miles? ahhhh I'm crying.
      I had to look up what a Scotch Bonnet was. That is really interesting. I will look for some hot peppers next time I'm at the store. I don't know much about them. I am so happy for you that you came up with this concoction and that you love in.
      Where on the beautiful earth are you located?

    • @rattlegunz5650
      @rattlegunz5650 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KombuchaLizNo I don't mind a good cuss. I read one time the main reason holding the US back from going metric is the associated cost. It would be huge. Scotch Bonnets have the best flavor of any chili I have tried. Pretty hot but not over the top. Now I am having a little regret at having put chili into my entire batch of Koffucha as although its not too spicy I'm getting a bit sick of it always being there and as I said the lovely flavor has gone leaving just spice. For my next batch I'm going to add Scotch Bonnet to 1 bottle at a time and see if I can retain the flavor. So evolution. I'm living in Phuket Thailand for the last 5 years in the hope of never ever being cold again after growing up in the South Island of New Zealand ( you know like right next to Antarctica there ) and then Australia. So far it's working...

    • @KombuchaLiz
      @KombuchaLiz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rattlegunz5650 that sounds awesome. You know, I always thought of Australia as being dry and hot. Never once has it crossed my mind on how close it is to Antarctic. 😅🤣😅🤣 I'm keeping my eyes peeled for scotch bonnets now. 👍

    • @KombuchaLiz

      Hi Jacklynn. It's hard to describe. I'm laughing out loud right now. Ok, could you imagine coffee as a soda? It doesn't have that warm smooth coffee taste. But it's good. If you go into it without thinking you'll get coffee you'll be fine. I always drink it with cream too.
