Funny sidefact: küng dropped lenny and gaudu🎉
I'm really happy Remco bridged back to Pog and Jonas - think he'll throw a real spanner into the works as long as he's in the mix
I’m just happy JV is on good enough form to stay with POG. We got a tour!
don't get excited yet. The real test will be the Galibier
@@user-vt4hd8hb4vOn paper this terrain was best suited for Tadej.
He was out of the saddle for like 5s lol @@adshdhhhd7783
@@adshdhhhd7783 yeah best suited but that doesn't mean that any gaps were likely to be made in such a short distance attack, or that it is indicative of Vingegaard's overall form
@@user-vt4hd8hb4vtrue. JV did seem strong though.
Now I want to see Abrahamsen on Galibier!!
I am surprised by Vinegaard but it is only stage 2 If he can hold his form until end of week 2, Pogacar is in trouble
Pogacar not looking confident in his interview after the race today
To me he looked in control, he tested himself while taking the mask out of Jonas' real shape. Now he knows who's fighting against, and Visma doesn't have the suprise advantage anymore
That's right. Pogacars face said it all. Not a good day at all!
@@mrsewe417 lies
Thats verry true. And UAE acted like its a co leader type role, nobody (except yates and the rulers willing to work). They couldve set it up dropped the whole peleton with only 4 guys left in the bunge and then let pog go. 100% sure he would've dropped JV then
@@gabrielmazza7923 I get your point 👍
the both better watch out for remco he by far the best TT rider and proved that today again . with closing the 15 sec gap almost alone .
He can’t hang on those week 3 climbs in my opinion. We will see though!
LR - always insightful. What can we take away from the first two stages about Bart Lemmen? I expected him to be climbing support - perhaps before Keldergoat. But he’s been doing his work earlier and rolling in w/Tratnik and LaPorte. How should we think about his role/utility in this race?
Ayuso and almeda need to ride for Pog. Period!
I think we learned that Jonas has the form to hang with Tadej’s explosive attacks….. the only question is whether he has the form on those LOOOOONG climbs where he has broken Tadej the last two years.
Only thing is there was big draft benefit today. Could be different on a 10-15min 10+% climb
Pogi uses too much energy to attack 100 times on these small hills, Vingegaard will dominate in 3rd week.
Nah, he won't have the stamina in the 3rd week on the climbs, same as Pog last year.
No big draft on that climb mate
But covid will knock Pog down a knotch so could be both are not at their best. Hope not.
say fuga de la fuga one more time
FUGA DE LA FUGA
@@BenjiNaesenTV why I ougtha
I didn’t see where Adam Yates dropped Jorgensen?
Well done to Patrick and Jumbo Visma for convincing me that JV was not 100%. Exciting tour ahead.
I think Pog will have the advantage on the TTs. Unless JV has been secretly training on the TT bike 😅😂
He has visma posted a picture and TT bike was in the background
He still may not be 100%. The lack of training time affected Pog in week 3. He looked very good right up until he didn't. Same was true for Remco at the Giro 3 or 4 years ago (right after his bad crash). Looked great until the wheels came of. He spoke with LR about how you can still be good for one day, but don't resist the build up of fatigue as well if you don't have the miles in your legs.
As always, it depends on the course and their day form. Pogacar was on his way down and the course suited Vingegaard.
About the TTs, I agree it's advantage Pog on Stage 7 (though I think Remco will smoke both of them). Stage 21 though... the route is a lot hillier, and it's literally the last stage of a 3-week race. It looks an awful lot like the Stage 16 TT last year & we know how that went
when finally MVDP time 😭🤞
Tdf is MVDPs summer camp
I’m suprised with jonas. A punchy climb going max HR, stage 2, 88 days after having a perforated lung chasing pogi that is in form. How does that work
Normal Jonas during the day, Batman-training Jonas during the night?
Same as when he did his immaculate time trial last year. There are secrets to be found about Jonas. It's just a matter of time.
Our beloved Danish Anchovy is in it to win it!
Bedankt
No one believed the multiple-leader-strategy in the first place, right?
Ayuso shouldn't be in the Tour. He has no form and he prooved to be a poor domestigue either way.
He should proove himself on stage 4
Demare winning triple for france. Just wierd but a bit possible
JV looked good today but pogačar looked like he was going 80%
Why people are so surprised that JV can hold Pog? He said he will come to the tour only if he's 100% ofc there might be some uncertainty how he will perform, but I expect him to be 100%
How can you believe he’s 100% after life changing injuries 2 months back and with reduced training?
We wont ever know how bad the crash actually was. They coulve been playing possum since April
He is not 100%, but he will be competitive at 95%
@@yourdeadjack How can you believe JV comes to the tour with the whole team built around him being not prepared? The crash was really bad I get it, but I don't believe he would come to the tour if his numbers were not good enough.
@@Zawisza499 This is about being 100% which he is not. With the injuries he’s sustained he won’t ever get back to his previous form. With that said, his new form may still be the best.
What a great start to the tour!
OK they didn't know Jonas's current level, but reducing the Yates card seemed silly as UAE's numbers are their big advantage. The ability to work Jonas over as Visma did to Pog with Jonas & Roglic is silly to give away early.
how's the live chat replies and people claiming JV is doped up because he followed pog... the very same people will say crickets when pog wins 10 races from 12 entries. Its really bizarre that people believe the most dominant rider in the peloton is clean, but the guy that can follow him must be doped. wake up...
Agree with Patrick, I think Pogi was hoping to put time into Jonas in these first 2 stages, the fact JV looked so comfortable yesterday speaks volumes, I think he's going to win this year's Tour, Pogi will tire out towards the end because of riding the Giro
Carapaz has to be thinking about stage positions to get in yellow or else he's a complete troll: he drafted Remco all the way to get back to Jonas and Pogi and then sprints full gas to deny the Total rider a stage top 10 which I found hilariously cruel
So glad to hear Patrick saying Wout is switched off and when he's at the back of the peloton, there is a good chance some shit will happen to him. Stay with your team and don't be a fraking liability, Wout.
Roglic lost the wheels again in the Run in ... Vlasov ans Hindley were in about sixth wheel.
UAE I feel are conserving for stage 4, they will go nuclear there
No, they could not attack today, Ayusu and Almeida were too weak, we didn't even seem them in action, and on stage 4 they will be even more tired.
@@simonstrane they were in bad position. When you are single file on the climb positioning matters a tonne more than Alpine climbs
@@simonstrane different type of climbs on stage 4. Ayuso doesn't look great though I agree.
Thank god JV and RE were here because the TDF GC could have been over today already.
Benji... I want to see more of your Sagan impression.. LOL.🤣🤣 Not bad Benji..
I think Vingegaard wins now, looked spectacular today.
Yup… if he stays rubber side down… Pogacar has a Giro in his legs… it should be a worst spanking than last year!!
@@drapetomaniack not enough people out there concerned about that Giro in his legs
Yeah Jonas really, really strong. This kind of climb is Pogi’s bread and butter
Too early to call. Internal bleeding, broken collarbone and ribs, punctured lung. Dude, these 3 weeks are long. He is not at his 100%.
@@HolgerDanske874 ABSOLUTELY… still early, but based on rider characteristics.. Vingegaard tends to just get better (relative to rest of peloton) as race goes on… Pogacar tends to have more and more fragile form as race goes on… and that without having done a Giro before TdF… with a Giro in Pogacar’s legs would not be unreasonable to expect that increasing fragile form to be more pronounced for Pogacar!
Rog just doesn't wanna play games with the young bucks
Yeah I mean realistically, it was a significant amount of matches burned for a very insignificant time gain at the end of the day.
Rogla doesn't have the San Luca KOM. Eurosport said it's Woods (with an insane 5'25)
That’s on Strava. Roglic file was not uploaded to Strava.
The Big 4 alive…
Tadej
Jonas
Remco
Richard.
I think this is good for visma. They got 40 seconds on on 3 uae co leaders. Uae coulve done a 2022 jonas roglic combo breaking Jonas but they kinda threw that out the picture themselves
UAE aren't very good tactically, are they? 🤣😂
Looks like Benji is a Spurs-fan 😅
This has become more of a Visma fanboy podcast as of late!! Ugh !!
You didn’t watch the pod, didn’t you?
Hahahaha😂😂😂😂😂 poor poge.
It looked like Vlasov couldve maybe gone with Remco and Carapaz but held back for Rogla...
Nope, Rogla said it was the plan to conserve energy and stay with the yellow jersey group.
I wonder if Mr Broe is consuming his magnesium pills.
I am actually, plus vitamin B too! LR
@@LanterneRougeCyclingPodcast Thanks for letting me and everyone else know.👍
Who’s the third person they keep looking at in the room? Expert helper?? Make your guesses: Ben O’Conner?😂
I think Jonas has got to be the clear favorite for the tour now
UAE has the better team as is right now
@@alex9046the Team does not help them, because all of them are weaker than Pog & Vingo by a lot. what are they gonna use the team for. None of them can ride Vibgo off their wheel or even stay with Pog in case Pog did.
and JV does not need a lot of team Support once he is in the high mountains in week 3
@alex9046
Almeida and Ayusu could not attack today.
Did anyone notice Vingegaard downhill skills were sketchy?
Didn't really think it was sketchy.
Honestly he always takes better lines than pogacar. So dont worry about vingegaard descending skill
He was just being careful after the crash, if even that (crash from April).
Pog looked finished in the last 500 meters. Vingegaard looked fine
Humm maybe its me, thats checking to much if he has any "issues" after his crash. Lets hope not 🤘
Anyone see any video of the chase group and Evenepoel on the descent? I’m having a REALLY hard time believing they bridged a 45 second gap to top riders in the world in 1.5km… super suspicious that there’s some motorcycle pacing shenanigans as in the Dauphiné 😏
Evenepoel was only 10-15 seconds behind and the group was 35 seconds behind. Time gaps were a little wrong I think when it said 45 temporarily.
@@BenjiNaesenTV ok… still want to see that video to see how that really went down… when/how did Evenepoel leave that group.. who was pulling etc… that’s some TERRIBLE editing! 😏
Remco was never more than 15" behind I think. And I also wouldn't take the tv gaps for real, since motoplacement can be important (behind vs in front of the group etc.)
Or are you saying to the break?
@@drapetomaniack remco and carapaz jumped from the group when pogacar attacked, they both reacted and couldn’t get on pogis wheel quick enough. So they both spent the rest of the race trying to make up the 10-15 seconds they lost on the initial attack from pogi and jonas
@@triple884 I looked at video again and though the second corner after attack you can just make out Carapaz leaving the peloton… solo.. imagine Remco must has joined him moments later 🤔
This playing poor from Visma was disqusting, hope karma gets them.
Uhhhh, nasty Visma. So unfair.
Broken collarbone, broken ribs, internal bleeding and a puncture lung. Yeah, "playing poor form" it must be 🤡
Playing well is the better expression.
I'm sure even Jonas didn't know how he would perform once he was racing again. You could tell he was genuinely surprised he didn't lose time to Pog today. Visma played it smart to put the least amount of pressure on a rider who's coming back from serious injury. To have done it any different would've been foolish on their part.
Yeah I heard they faked all the injuries and put a lung drain in Jonas for show 🤡🙄🥳
why are Lanterne Rouge's comment sections full of Visma fanboys 🥹🫠
low key inculcation
Well one of the host is a Visma employee
@@lopixoothey try keeping that on the low key😂😂
How's that? I only see Pogacar fan boys
Because Visma Lease-A-Horse is the best team.
