    Honestly, when I saw this on HLJ while pre-ordering my Nightengale I lapped it up without even thinking.
    So I'm glad you, Mecha and Kakarot have all gone on to review this thing and prove it was money well spent, even with the downside of the weapons.
    Also, blue beams, that needs to be more common!

      This was an unexpected review for myself too, I saw it getting put onto shelves in a store and grabbed one immediately or else the crazy people would get to it:) Love this little guy for its geeky lineage
      And totally agree about the blue blades

    In my opinion this model holds up quite well. The only thing I would have loved to see are more hand options

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Bandai really developed their parts separation and color separation quite a bit earlier than articulation, so it's sad sometimes to see a lot of older kits be dismissed by reviewers who call them good looking but then repremand them for being too old

    I think the selling point of this is that it has a fuel tank size that doesn't make an action base mandatory. It also has the correct size for the scale. I really wish the original MG didn't cost $200 to buy on the second hand market.

    Soo 8 months later, with the RG out, would you still say the HG is a good companion to the HG Nightingale? I have the RG in the box still but the Nightingale is on the shelf. I’m thinking of picking the HG up to compliment it and displaying the RG on it’s own.

    The yellow parts of the Nu fin funnel also came short by not making the other yellow parts color accurate. Just one of my small frustrations of that kit.

      The GPB version of this is a straight recolor of this - black for blue, yellow for silver, and it got some different stickers. Haven't seen it around much in stores though

  • @elipse371
    @elipse371 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s kinda sad to me how the Hi-V turned out in this specific kit
    Granted,I do like the light sky blue used,but I don’t like it as much as the deep purple shown on the front of the box and some sides of the box
    I’m personally a Katoki fan(aside from the Xi) and the deep purple on that design of the Hi-V is something I much prefer to this one

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That really is a long-standing split in tastes, because the blue-purple thing has been around forever and Bandai/Sunrise didn't ever think to set the record in stone once and for all.
      I think the purple hue makes it very unique because there's nothing else like it. The sky blue is also not as exotic and much more subdued.
      Go hunt one of these kits down and paint it purple:) Gundam model fans have the freedom to change anything and everything we like

    • @elipse371
      @elipse371 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HobbyClubhouse Yeah,both color schemes are very unique
      The only suits I can think of that have something similar with a two color separation idea are the Astrays and the Unicorns,but we certainly don’t need more of the latter
      It really does come down to personal taste in design and how the kit looks as compared to its brethren
      I really am considering hunting one of these down though,just so I can get a feel for the Izubuchi design over the original design from Beltorchika’s Children
