Ugh! I spent 2 days getting my characters up to level 10 just for them to all die in a pit full of spikes on the 3rd floor. I got frustrated and quit for now 😂
I had exactly the same experience. Doesn’t matter how much you grind etc - this is a game where you can randomly wipe at any time and in my opinion that makes it unplayable.
The Managing Brutality thumbnail caught my eye. Thanks for the nice impressions video. I love the look of the game and I'll be creating a batch file to backup my saved games because I'm not at all into party wipes. I'm still waiting on a good sale and hope I haven't missed one. Maye I'll go play and little Might and Magic: The World of Xeen to get my fix until a sale happens.
All the walls are going to look the same - thats how it was on the Apple 2: However, lower levels have more of a maze quality, and traps IIRC. At least you have an auto-map: in the old days we had to sit there with graph paper and draw it- it helped playing with 2 people, 1 mapping while one calling out the move. And yeah, being older, I dont want to do that anymore
The price point is my main problem with this title and will be the undoing of the game. Nostalgia only goes so far when it comes to the wallet. If you've never played the original than you're looking at other CRPGs you can get for the same price and this will seem underwhelming. If like me you've played the original back in the day the upgraded look and handful of QOL improvements are nice, but if that is all there is then it probably should have been a fan remake on githhub than a $35 retail product.
Got this on switch I love it have put in probably 70 hours so far, there isn't any old school rpgs on the switch so for me its worth £30. If Alternate reality (dungeon) or Wizards & warriors ever came out I would be in heaven
You can save before lvling then reload save but on console you have to dashboard then quit game start game to do it correctly. Thgats what i dod and man my party is slamming cause all the max hp andc stats gains
just so everybody knows. There is a copy and overwrite for your character saves. I suggest making multiple copies of your party so you don’t have to make new parties all the time.
Not anytime soon, unfortunately. Once in a blue moon there's something on there that interests me, but not enough to justify the cost. And I pretty much stay at home, so a mobile console doesn't have much appeal for me personally. -Paeter
I played that when I was what…13? On Nintendo. It was fun but it was the only thing there was. Makes grinding Wow Vanilla look like being handed everything for free at the Taj Mahal. 😂
I just want a Might and Magic 6-8 type game and/or remaster of those games (not the Merge-Mod). EDIT- not really caring for that "across the face" blood splatter effect.
Well there are specific reasons why that is the case. For example, I hang around and play it safe in starting areas longer than other players probably do. It is in THOSE areas I soon began feeling powerful. I'm certainly not constantly pushing forward into the depths. For me, I would not only still feel weak doing that, it would be a perfect recipe for a party wipe, which I have far less tolerance for than some players. I feel powerful when & because I patiently play the game on my terms. -Paeter
@@christiangeekcentral I'm guessing none that you haven't heard of. But I love Grimoire Heralds of the winged exemplar, Operencia, Might and Magic X, Legends of Amberland 1 & 2, The Quest, and Bards tale 4. That's all the good ones I've played in the last year.
@@lilBugger35 I've heard of some of those! I have Operencia, hope M&MX will come to console, have The Quest on my phone and LOVE Bard's Tale 4 Director's Cut on Playstation! -Paeter
A complex topic with so many varied situations. My default answer would be that biblically we see instruction to comfort those dying rather than hasten their death. -Paeter

Welcome to how I was introduced to crpgs

And yet people drop money for $100+ for a trash AAA 'deluxe' edition

Can you save your progress at any time? That's what we used to do in case of a party wipe. Save as you got to each level.

Hey Wizardry - just add a regular Save system and I'll play the heck out of this!!!
Your move!
You need a tutorial to tell you about secret doors? I see.
Hopefully getting this soon for switch. Love the switch cause I can take it everywhere! Peter when you getting a switch? Lol.

Unfortunately it's been removed.
If you went from feeling overwhelmed to feeling powerful in 5 hours of play, I'd say this fails to capture the originals brutality.

I don't mind puzzles but I do hate anime. I love this remake.
Sweet! Are there any non-anime turn based dungeon crawls of this type you'd recommend? -Paeter

What are your thoughts on euthanism. Like assisted death. Do you think it's biblical? I don't. I think it's stupid. Just wondering
