- Today, the final showdown with Werdna himself... I want to thank everyone whose been watching this series over the course of the past couple of months. It's been really fun! Wizardry is a great game and I'm glad I could experience it, (even if I did so with quality of life features!)

Foogle sure did a good job distracting them vampires for like.... A week.
I think you should pick up the series with Wiz 6. Total Fun. And completely different. You can pick up 6&7 for $5.
I'm getting a lot of recommendations for different entries in the series. In time I'm going to have to just play all of them...

GG. If I remember correctly, there's a teleporter in Werdna's chamber to take you back home without risking embedding yourself in solid rock. For your next game, why not try The Bard's Tale from 1985? It's in the same vein, and represents the next generation of dungeon crawlers after the original Wizardry series -- it has better graphics, some QoL improvements, and bard songs in addition to four types of magic.
Bards Tale is a great option too! It’s been remastered to include the first 3 games, but just updated the original graphics and code. It still looks feels and plays like the original. Not as unforgiving as Wiz.

If you want this style of game, I'd second a previous commenter's suggestion for Bard's Tale, the original Trilogy is remastered and available on Steam. I would not suggest Bard's Tale 4, however. It was a recent cash grab that forgot what made the original trilogy so engaging. But the remaster of the original Bard's Tale trilogy games are fantastic, with optional quality of life features not present in the original games, including an actually functional minimap system.
The T)ime option does not work anymore and there is no way to control combat messaging speed! It is a one speed fits all so if it's to fast or too slow for your liking, there is no way to fix it. Worse, the devs are launching 1.0 May 23rd with no future plans to allow players the option to control combat speed like so many other turn-based games do!
Seems like such a bizarre decision for them to make. I gotta say, while I enjoyed my time with this version of Wizardry, it was very obvious to tell that this wasn't a perfect port of the game. There were a lot of comments people made regarding content that was/wasn't in this one that had me scratching my head.
