I’m guessing his check is barely a livable wage in a store like Foreman Mills. You never know when your kindness has a turn-around effect on another human. They tell them it is a documentry or something like that....they know they are filmed but not why
Sometimes they give a backstory on why they're filming not to raise suspicion. "Person being filmed was a former addict, documentary on a starting first job, etc"

Undercover boss has been a scripted advertisement vehicle since season one. Actors in every show nothing real at all.
They just need to rework this whole show. Stop calling it "Undercover Boss" and call it "A Day With the CEO" 😅😂
If they made it what it is instead of this scripted shit show, then it would be funnier and more believable.
People would watch the show if it was about a minimum wage worker bullying their CEO.
A minimum wage worker wouldn't need to care about getting fired, because they can always find another minimum wage job equally as oppressing.
It would be a show about workers who already have a job lined up, and they get to cuss out their CEO but the CEO can't leave or fire the person until it's been a full week of being trained on the job.
That would be a great show!!!😂😅 There is no need for those cheap cheesy disguises and empty money promises they make at the end during the "reveal".
