    Always loved that outro solo... I sold a guitar to Roland, the guitarist/singer/cofounder of Tears For Fears... I had to thank him for playing that amazing solo. He responded with a thank you. He also said that he’d wished he could’ve had another take, but even though he didn’t love it, everyone else in the studio did love it... Just a little bit of background, for you...
    ‘Head over Heels’ is another great TFF song.

    • @TheAcgtrs
      @TheAcgtrs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@estimatedleighton6389 the primary TFF guitar tone is in fact a Strat. I know that seems obvious, because he’s playing one in the video, but he did confirm it during our conversation... When I was helping him shop, they we’re planning on going into the studio, and Roland was considering other tones, to change up their sound a little... He was looking at ES335 models. He actually preferred the ES339, instead. This was around 2014/15 time frame.

    Oh man, this brings me back to my childhood. I can remember the day I bought this cassette and two others (Madonna and Motley Crue). My Mum's old Chevy Blazer only had an 8-track player so I brought my boom box...and drove her nuts playing these songs over and over during our day of running errands. By the end of the day Ma was singing along with the volume cranked and the windows down. Damn...I miss her and all the great memories. Music always brings you back.

      Yes indeed, the song is a masterpiece. A song with a strong message, which is still current, and unfortunately it will be like that forever. In live performances, during intro, Orzabal is always emotional, as if gathering the strength to sing it. In later interviews, he explained that the song describes his parents' bad and difficult relationship. There are so many such female stories. it is interesting that there are almost no reactions to this song. I wonder why. The song is a diamond that shines with emotion and message.

    My favorite song of all time. The lyric: "I can't stand this indecision married with a lack of vision" always gets me. It exemplifies too much of our society, not being able to make decisions because we don't have enough vision (knowledge/wisdom basically). Tears for Fears was essentially telling us IN THE 80'S to go educate ourselves. Great reaction Jamel! Keep up the great work :)
