Hungry all the time?? Maybe at the beginning, as you are coming off carb addiction but after a short time you aren't feeling that way anymore and have to really remember eating to ensure you are getting the appropriate nutrition. Being on any "other" way of eating makes you hungry all of the time and constantly thinking about food and that next meal. People that take Ozempic are taking a drug which causes your body to think it's full (artificially) and also makes you want to do "nothing", while ketovore/carnivore gives you nutrition/constant energy and a constant calm and mindset of enjoying life.

I have had excellent results by employing intermittent fasting & OMAD. The key for me is not to pass the 24-hour mark with my fasts. When I eat I make sure I eat very well. I only do OMAD 2 or 3 days per week, apart from this I'm eating twice per day but I am doing a fast every day a min of 17 hours. Another major part of the equation is making sure I have enough fat in my meals. This is vital as Dr Chaffee covers all the time. If you are not consuming enough fat the body may not release the stored fat. I'm now 11 days away from being a Carniovore for a whole year. My results have been nothing short of spectacular. A big shout out to Dr Chaffee as usual. :)

Arthritis pain in hands - GONE
    Sciatic pain - GONE
    Knee pain - GONE
Sleeping like a rock all night long
    Down roughly 50 pounds
Went from not being able to do 1 pushups to pumping out 40 at a time.
    No more painful BMs
Crazy amounts of energy with no after lunch crash (used to struggle driving home from work without feeling like I’d fall asleep behind the wheel, very scary)

Try tallow instead of blue cheese. Modern herds are nuked to keep disease from spreading. I use gut bacteria enhancements also due to modern meat. My goal is wild or non treated domestic meat in a year. My body is fat adapted. However, it's going to be at least 6 months before I'm strong enough to live on meat, salt and water only. It just takes time for the body to even be able to return back. But it will. And then you will realize the level of deception. • @hiriasbloodweaver8593

@Ellie the first 3 days of fasting the metabolism slightly accelerates because your body expects you to hunt. As long as you're overweight, basically your metabolism does not change at all from fasting. There have been documented cases e.g. one dude fasted for 300+ days and kept losing the usual 300g fat per day, which means his metabolism didn't slow down at all because he was severly overweight.
Your metabolism slows when you a) fast when you do not have adequate amounts of bodyfat anymore (starving) or b) if you do regularly eat below your caloric needs.
Also if you sleep a lot and don't move, your metabolism slows, so some light exercise for 1-2 hours per day does prevent that.
Fasting is a good idea because beyond weight-loss it works preventive to things like alzheimer and parkinsons by accelerating autophagy in the body (cellular repairs). It is recommended to do 1-2 longer fasts per year (5-7 days), that should be enough. If you want to lose weight, you can do more. Also fasting is excellent in preventing and reversing diabetes type 2. Things like intermittent fasting, OMAD etc help a lot!

I started carnivore diet at the beginning of December 2023 and after 6 months of ups and downs and falling off the wagon a few times it’s been an interesting journey of self discovery, self discipline, and ultimately self empowerment. In the end it came down to the power of high fat. Once I started making sure I was getting loads of fat (I started eating big chunks of butter as well as fatty meat), it was a game changer. The difference that made to my overall well-being was very noticeable, and my skin cleared right up. And the bonus was that my excess body fat melted away so quickly. I feel amazing! 🤩

My issue on carnivore is I can eat only about 5-6 oz of meat and then I'm full for 24-48h. The thought of eating more makes my stomach turn. I do have a lot of weight to lose, so maybe that's why. But seeing people take down a 16oz steak, with eggs and bacon blows my mind. If you are just starting this can be from low bile reserves. Bile digests fat and gets recycled, so it builds up over time. In the meantime try easier to digest meats, but still get plenty of fat where you can. Definitely try lamb, it's fatty (especially the rack) and very digestible. Try adding in (not just outright replacing) non apex predator fish like salmon and shellfish. These are very lean (usually) so I would try to add in butter.

How much should I eat when eating like our ancestors? I eat when I am hungry, eat slowly, and stop when I start feeling full. No fluids an hour or so before, during, and an hour or so after eating. I have not eaten plants or plant derived products for four months. I have had numerous health benefits already, in line with other people having similar anecdotal experiences. I have done sports my entire life, and I presently do triathlons, including full ironmans. I have to eat twice a day. In the morning, I eat after a workout. Lately, I have been having ground beef, four eggs on top, and then a little cheese on the eggs. Cover and let low heat do its magic. And, I eat in the evening; I typically eat just a big steak. My body is still adjusting. My bike power at a given heart rate is up significantly. My endurance is better; no need to eat on a long ride. Moreover, my running pace at a given heart rate has improved significantly. Regarding day to day changes, I don't have energy lows anymore, my GI system is getting better and settling, cramping is resolving, and sleep pattern is generally better.

Thanks for these videos. You're definitely my go-to-first for all things carn.
You got a Q: from Staggs that is pretty close to my walk on this path. I'm 9 months on Lions, 5 months weight-plateaued. I eat primarily chuck roast. No good data on %fat there, but nutritionix says "58% fat calories". I eat until I can't fit any more and am still hungry/crave. 1-2 meals a day (usually one); 1.5 to 2.5 lbs a day. If I add more fat, bathroom-time is an absolute nightmare. After experiencing wicked foot cramps at night, I took Sally Norton's advice and supplement Calcium, Potassium & Magnesium Citrates, with Biotin, B1 & B6 (at her minimum doses), but only every other day (I REALLY want to believe that meat is all you need). And I drink about 3 quarts of water a day, and a sip of my wife's coffee once a week (to reminisce). To be completely honest, when my weight loss plateaued, my energy dropped off. I was feeling king-of-the-world there for 3 months, and now... blah. My brain fog came back. I use "Oxalate-dumping" as a scapegoat. It's hard though; knowing that all I need to do is have some au gratin potatoes and I'd be fine again (or even some other low-oxalate plant). It's even affecting my performance at work.
I'm sticking with it, but it's definitely NOT all rainbows and unicorns like I've heard from others around the 9-month mark.

The US Army estimated GI Joe living outside in the winter needed 8-10,000 calories. So the 3,500 number of calories was NOT for an active person. It was an average.
So the subjects were fed 1,750 calories in the experiment. Ironically this is our current caloric recommendation. Seems odd for the USDA to recommend this.

@jts842. There are several youtube doctors that talk about the production of NO. The breathing exercise is amazing. Do a search for it. Basically it is heavy deep inhales through the nose and exhale through the mouth for about 2 1/2 minutes. You might get dizzy at first and will have to reduce the time you do it. It works. Amazing. And, red meat is a rich source of arginine, an amino acid that can be converted into nitric oxide. A lot of vegan types try to use NO as an argument against eating meat....and once again, they are wrong.

Seems for me, it's been a evolvement. Coming up 07/10/24 I'm a year into carnivore and, all the changes that have accrued have been nothing short of remarkable...things that are not suppose to change, did.
Eating went from compulsive ( was Hyperglycemia) down to eating once a day.
I recognized, when compulsively eating, I'd feel not all that great. I took it as a signal from my body to stop the compulsive eating and knocked it down to 3 meals then it turned into 2 meals and now 1 meal and feel even "more" better then before.
I also seem best on beef and occasion pork chops some crustaceans and fish (homemade butter) .
I ruled out chicken for not having the fat content needed, even with frying the chicken in bacon fat. Yes I have eggs with the beef as well as bacon...after that I'm good to go till bed time.
I've notice too, "eating my big meal at 10/12 noon", I have plenty of time to digest the meal rather then eating that volume of meat at 4:30/5:30 pm and sleep very well and better then I' ever had..
Also took bout 9 mo's to become regular again. I recognized how much my body had to discard and went with that thinking for the duration... Am great, have pasted my medicals with flying colors ...rock on

@nmc5657 ha ha! Yeah I have an An ag degree in the very thing Dr. C says are bad. Plants and Soil science are booming. Look up live soil. Plus my fraternity is AGR. But you can can call me Darth because I sprayed with impunity for years. Thousands of gallons. And it affects the applicator no matter how good you are at spraying. Technically all high atomization and high pressure guns are breaking g the law daily because of wind speed. The max is 15mph. So they spray no matter what. Except rain

Is it possible to gain weight on carnivore or mainly lion diet? I'm 6'1 around 145, been skinny my whole life and I over eat but it's usually kinda bad food like pizza, pasta, sweets here and there. Ive cut sugar completely like a month ago and plan to go carnivore, but I am worried about my weight and energy, especially in the beginning. Any advice or knowledge would be great, thanks!

I get really tired after a big carnivore meal. Example, for me, 4 eggs and 1 steak. Is it due to not digesting it that well? Been doing this only 5 weeks. Helpful to take betaine hydrochloride to increase stomach acid? Will I adapt over time? I can’t really eat more than that in one sitting.

Please, Allow me to ask a couple of question about the Carnivore diet .(Sorry if i already posted before but i dont know what to do) :
I am now over 180 days into a Strick Carnivore diet (I only eat meat and eggs. Nothing else but 500-600g of COCKED meat plus 7-8 eggs in a day. All Divided in 2 meals) I am now 35 years old, 181cms tall, 180lbs(+-81,5kg) at +-22%BF. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week.(lift weigths to help sustain or increase muscle mass and assist fat loss- HIT Workouts)
I started the Carnivore diet to improve my body composition. I was a HEALHTY guy with NO chronic illnesses or health problems.
I lost about 17 lbs(8kg) in the first 9 weeks (Mostly water) but since then I haven't been able to change my body composition. I have now gone more than 8 weeks without registering any body changes (weight loss, decrease in BF% or measurements like waist, legs, arms and neck ).In fact i have gained 2,5 lbs(1KG between weeks 10-12, but it might be just water.
I still need to lose at least another 15lbs of fat to reach my goal of being below 15%BF. However, I don't see how the Carnivora Diet will facilitate this process. I have not experienced most of the benefits common to Carnivores (Improved sleep, more energy/disposition, etc.) nor have I changed my body composition significantly
I am now over 12 weeks with no body fat lost.
So I would like to ask a few question about the Carnivore diet:
1- How long should I extend my experience with the Carnivore diet to be able to lose the excess bodyfat I still have?(at least 15lbs of fat)
2- What is the minimum time you should maintain a Carnivora diet when it is not working for you?(how many weeks or months)
3-Is the Carnivore diet effective for those who are aldreay healthy and just need to improve body composition?
I am affraid this way of eating is too restrictive, for a healthy person, with no aditional benefit from any other whole food diet.
PS: Most of my time as a Carnivore i have not experience most Carnivore benefits or lost any body fat.
Also, Sorry for any grammar mistake, i am Brazilian and english is not my first language.
    Thank you for your attention!.

Well, the carnivore diet is the Proper Human Diet according to Dr Berry and Dr Chaffee and thousands of others following it. What other way of eating would you choose? Stick with it and make sure you are not consuming any hidden carbs or packaged products or dairy (especially cheese). Make sure you are eating enough for your metabolism. 21 ounces or beef daily might not be enough for you at your young age. Believe it or not, undereating will stop your progress. It is very hard to overeat on a fatty meat, whole food diet.

Sometimes, you are gaining through muscle mass as you lose fat. So you might be losing fat slowly but it hasn't become a visua fatl loss yet.

You're right. Carnivore is an elimination diet to rid your body of problem foods. So, if you are carnivore and add back in foods you like (not processed junk, of course), you can see how your body handles it. Sadly, people think carnivore is heavily studied and researched. Its not. It's pseudoscience. There's more research on keto/ low carb diets than carnivore/lion diet. If you feel good stay on it, if you don't try something else. It's your body. Listen to it. Good luck

In that study a starvation diet was 1500 calories! Most people are shocked by that. It was typical for women in that era to eat 2500 calories a day and they were not overweight. Men typically ate 3000 calories or more a day.

I am lean and at my optimal weight and muscle mass. Can I chronically under eat and slow down my metabolism so that I don't get hungry often and then maintain my weight and sports performance? Or slow metabolism means poor performance?

Can a person safely do the Carnivore Diet if they have had there appendix removed? I have several Family members who have had theirs removed and one of them said they seen a video by an online Doctor who does carnivore that said it was not safe to do the carnivore diet if their appendix has been removed. Could you please 1. Answer this important question for me and 2. Provide some links to videos or online documentation supporting this please? Thank You!

Just clicked on this video at the 48 hour point of my fast. I haven't fasted in quite a while. But I have been eating two meals a day. The second meal might actually be a little too big. I put on a couple of pounds, not much. And noticed a little squishiness around my midsection. After watching this, I think I'm gonna grab some breakfast. Seems like 48 hours is plenty. 24 might even be good for the future. (along with shrinking that evening meal a little bit)

10weeks on carnivore and i cant get the Aha moment yet.. my mission wasn't to lose weight but lost anyway..not excited.... the energy levels that i hear everybody gets in only days is only a dream to me.. i went on carnivore to cure my chronic chest pains and i still have them.... because of how am feeling, I just cant wait to stop this diet and gain back my energy.. i think i have accepted that it only works for some people... but i have 3 months target to hit... if i dont feel better after this, im throwing in the towel... i do a cup of coffee per day though not consistently because of this weaknesse.. i also do sour milk sometimes.... all these additions are there to supplement this expensive diet..... i really wanted to do this long term but with this weakness, i want to go low carb and see how i feel... if my Chest pains dont heal, thats a signal that, this isnt working..... electrolytes are nowhere to be found in my country so i use himalayan salt..
Any ideas??? Otherwise this is depressing me..
I noticed meat makes me sleepy immediately after eating. Quiet weird... my energy really tanks... and my digestion is always babbling with gases... ok im confused.
