My IBS was gone in the first 5 days... I was taking meds that cost $1000 a month... I couldn't go out for lunch or dinner with my family for over 30 years. 5 damn days on this diet and my life got better... Now 8 months later, I'm 35 lbs lighter, my lab is all green except for cholesterol and that's awesome

I'm 77 and gave my body 77 days to get right. Day 71 today. Had a lot of issues along the way such as:
Low blood sugar, high blood pressure arthritic pain dehydration, lethargy & insomnia,
etc etc etc that have all gone. I had to just ride it all out and trust my body to heal. Not easy but possible. 😊
The improvement is amazing such as:
    Calm gut. No stress.
    Better skin. No itch.
    Eye health improved.
    Histamine balance.
    Hormone balance.
    Thicker hair.
    Less grey hair.
    Weight loss.
    Good blood pressure.
    Good blood sugar.
    No hunger.
    No cravings.
    No depression.
    Increased thirst.
    No joint pain.
    No body odour.
    No internal pain.
    No foot pain.

I have been doing ketovore for 135 days, after 7 1/2 years of ketogenic. I have gained 6 pounds, but my sleep is much better, I am calmer and my brain is much clearer, however my BMs are very watery. I can not figure out how to judge how much fat I need. I am turning 80 next month and only 5 ft tall. My clothes are not looser, so I feel like something is not right. I am now 124 pads but would like to be 115. I am very hard of hearing in my left ear, I have macular degeneration and cataracts coming on. These are my goals to fix, other than that I am healthy. I have been eating about 92 grams of protein and a fair amount of butter, because so much fat leaks out of meat when it is cooking. I never go over the 10 grams of fat, that Dr Berry says is ketovore. I am at a loss to know what to do. It takes everything I got in me to eat 92 gms of protein. Do you have any advise.

    • @RLSfamily
      @RLSfamily 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

@@adrienne4442 I think you have misunderstood Dr Berry's advice. He recommends a fat:protein ratio of 2:1 so if you are eating 92 grams of protein you should be eating 180g of fat. You could probably afford to lower your protein intake slightly if you feel like you struggle to reach 92 grams - there is no need to so just listen to your body on that one. If you are only eating 10 grams of fat a day then you are not getting enough calories which will cause problems.
You will need to increase your fat intake gradually (to allow your body to adapt to the fat increase) and I would suggest using ox bile supplement to begin with to help things along. It may be worth finding someone who can guide you on the carnivore diet, perhaps joining one of the groups (e.g. Kelly Hogan's group) to get more personalised advice supporting your diet going forwards. If your watery BMs continue you should seek medical advice.

I have been eating 110 grams of butter everyday as well as the 92 gms of protein Judy Chows you tube said I should have 92 gms. I have been OMAD for 7"1/2 years and when I try to change to 2 meals, I gain weight. I have no energy yet, I am now 147 days. I have seen some people don't lose weight until they cut way back on the fat. If I only eat meat fat, I do not know how to judge the quantity of fat because so much cooks out. I can not buy rib eyes, where I live each one costs 32.00. I looked at a pkg yesterday, i had 2 steaks in the pkg, but.cost 69.00. You have to be a millionaire to afford those things.

    • @RLSfamily
      @RLSfamily 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@adrienne4442 My main concern isn't your weight loss but your fatigue and watery BMs. It is likely that you are not getting enough calories so your body is holding onto what you eat whenever you go up to 2 meals (which likely increases your calories) but it could be something else such as a nutritional imbalance or deficiency.
You really need more personalised advice and in-depth discussion than I can offer here. An increasing number of carnivore TH-cam folks are offering support groups to guide and support or personalised coaching. I suggest you look for one you think you would get along with and can afford the service. You may only need it for a short time but it may help you figure out your own metabolism and diet.

I type 2 diabetic and test my blood 6 to 10 times a day now. So far, no insulin during the day and at night 4 units down from 15.
I use a 4-wheel walker and today for the first time in a year climbed steps on alternating legs and climbed to the top.
I had been climbing to 2 steps from the top, then crawled down the hall to get to an ottoman then rolled onto it to a sitting position and pry myself up to a stand.

I suffered from IBS and diverticulitis for over a decade. Doctors kept telling me eat more fiber, more vegetables, more grains, less meat. I got to the point where half my colon needed to come out. I told doctors no way I am keeping the parts God gave me and you are not cutting anything out of me, I will fix this myself. Went carnivore, all symptoms and pain are gone. My daily diet consists of 6 whole pasture raised eggs, beef, dark meat chicken, grass fed butter, redmonds salt, 2 cups of black coffee, and water. I will also have some raw hard cheese once in a while. I look 10 years younger than I did when I was eating grains and vegetables. Carnivore diet saved me from an unnecessary surgery that would of impacted my way of life forever.

It was raining so I didn’t make it out to sprint down my dead end street. Yesterday, I sprinted in the morning and took my kid to the park that evening. I did pull ups on the equipment. Today, I thought about how much I wanted to work out all day because I didn’t sprint in the morning. This marks feelings I have never had. It feels wonderful. So excited to be on this journey, and thank you Dr. Chaffe for the message you portray. I couldn’t get off the couch when I started this way of eating. Everyone should try not to focus so much on the "weight scale" per se, but more on what your waistline is telling you. Yes, you Initially/ultimately need to know what your weight is.. so you can roughly set a daily caloric intake..You want to insure that you're getting enough quality cals in and not undereating..but more important is that your MACRO's are in check.. There is a little experimenting initially, but it does become fairly intuitive.

But that's not enough protein and the body will start to eat itself away, including the muscle. Don't worry about calories or earing too much because it's all zero carb anyway if it's carnivore food. Many women find that they actually gain muscle and lose weight by upping their food intake. Don't worry, your body will use the extra protein as nutrition. It will only help, not harm you. I started high fat keto about 3 months ago and would cheat often but never gave up. I think the "cheats" are necessary in the begining to keep you on the wagon. Sometimes being too strict at the start and not being able to get cravings under control can produce a worse outcome. A great incentive for me to slow down on my cheating was the pain I would get in my arms and hands at night (indication that glucose and insulin levels are too high and I've never even been in the diabetic range as far as glucose levels). A couple of weeks ago I decided to transition to high fat carnivore and the difference in cravings is NIGHT AND DAY. It's true that optimizing fat intake is the key to controlling cravings. I almost have zero cravings for sweets and treats, especially on the ribeye and eggs days (usually 3 days a week). . . Good luck to you! ❤

I started Carnivore Feb 1 of this year. Previously I had a building collection of Autoimmune Conditions in which I was taking quarterly $70,000 shots. My daily pain level was never below 6 and mostly hovering around 8 and my neurologist was thinking I had Multiple Sclerosis. 3.5 months in of Carnivore eating...... I am off those shots, off one of my blood pressure medicines, have very little pain, (below 3, which hasn't happened in 20+years), and have lost 36 pounds with zero work. My life has been turned around all because of recognizing what foods my body needs to have great metabolism.

How many years did you eat a crappy diet? While I gave up sugar thirteen years ago, still ate a lot of processed food for 61 years of my life. Seed oils take five to six years to clear out of your body. Dairy does contain lactose (a sugar). I not only have an allergy to milk but wearing a continuous glucose monitor, I see it spikes my glucose. After 9 months of carnivore, I am 132 pounds, BMI is 21, pain free, and most of my autoimmune symptoms are gone. Some things I have learned is that when Dr. Chaffee says to stick with only meat and salt water, he is absolutely right. Coffee has been hard to give up and for a long time I continued having it and using stevia. The sweet taste made me crave carbs. I do use coconut cream and MCT oil to replace dairy fat. I have substituted mint tea for now to break my morning coffee addiction. It seems to be helping.

I think people saying "I've been carnivore for such and such amount of time why am I not getting better?" Is being too vague. We have no idea what they are actually eating. Are they eating enough fat, or are they eating lean chicken breast all the time and think they are "carnivore". Are they avoiding PUFA's, are they cheating and how often? If you eat nothing but GRASS FED ground beef and ribeye's and maybe some eggs and cooking with tallow, you'll start feeling amazing within a month. However if you're eating chicken, lunch meat, can tuna, farm raised fish and the cheapest corn fed animals you can buy and think you're a carnivore, you are wrong. Yes you are eating meat but you will not see the same results as my previous example eating grass fed meat. Lets be honest most of the people trying this "diet" aren't being honest with themselves. They are still drinking coffee, maybe even alcohol, cheating with some sweets and wonder why they aren't seeing the results they are hoping for.

Yesterday I felt incredibly lethargic and at one stage fell asleep sat up in the car( I wasn't driving ) My other half keeps tempting me with various meals and oh my days, the plates she and my daughter are tucking into look divine. I don't give in to the temptations but the listlessness I feel makes me a little dispirited. Better this morning. Probably would feel a lot better with a successful bathroom call! Not only did Carnivore diet clear this up within 2 weeks (almost immediate results if considering the frequency), but even when I went off carnivore, the symptoms didn't return for months. I'm sold. I will leave out the niacin if they are prone to shingles. A lot to this for sure. I've been in healthcare 30+ years trained in integrative functional medicine and hold a PhD in human physiology. Great channel!

Thank you for your insights with the Carnivore Journey. I have been on carnivore for about six weeks now. I am curious as to why smells of cooking eggs are bothering me and why I am craving raw meat…I am also a bit challenged with improper electrolyte balance because of cramps occurring for about one week. Not throwing in the towel, but it is a challenge.

It took me about 2 and 1/2 months to really start feeling some energy. It coincided with taking lugel's iodine and I've never really known if it was the chicken or the egg. So to speak. I would recommend the iodine however if you're not taking it.

I started 12 weeks ago, losing 1kg per week with exercise. Just done a half marathon in 1h58m. 2 months ago, I can only finish 10k for more than 70min. As Anthony said, when fat is burned for energy, more water is released than burning glucose. I barely had water during my half marathon run.

I've been carnivore for 3 months, lost only 10 pounds but 8 inches all over. Struggling with joint pain and hoping to heal my lipedema in my legs. Will me increasing fat help speed up the process of healing my inflammation.

At around the end of my 3rd month carnivore/ketovore I started feeling really good. Brain fog lifted, like a light bulb turned on. Its hard to explain but thats the best way. Probably took me longer because I still eat peppers and onions. My hard to control BP has dropped dramatically. The edema in my legs... gone. I retain no water at all now, stopped taking my water pills 😂.
