Honestly I follow many channels and by far your quality and content if way ahead of the game. About the content, knife goes hand in hand with a firearm. So hell yes, do make knife reviews!
Seriously - I've been looking for a review video just like this, hope this channel does more of them. This video is SO MUCH better than the one by Blade HQ that is just beyond cringe.
It’s definitely not an accurate review. The Microtech Ultratech blade length is 3.35”. But maybe blade length specifications aren’t important in a blade review.
They literally banned switchblades in Colorado in the '60s because of West Side Story. All the lawmakers even did the snapping thing to celebrate when it passed. About 40 years later, they realized it was ridiculous and reversed the ban. So you are absolutely correct in your assumption lol
Loved my first Ultratech so much I bought a second with OD green handle. Both S/E stonewashed M390 blades. Love them both for EDC. I have around 15 other Microtechs but my Ultratechs are my go to EDC knives. Great, thorough review.
I love the quality levels from Microtech. I’ve got an Ultratech in purple with black hardware and a black bayonet blade. The thing is wicked. I just picked up a manual Socom Elite signature series and it should be delivered this week. I expect it to be just as, if not more, badass as the Ultratech. There’s something really cool in holding a sick knife that’s made in America, by Americans, with American materials. Nice video
Good review, simple and to the point. Politicians started the ban after seeing James Deans Rebel movie in the 50s and it is still in effect in many states. In my collection I have 2 Ultratechs, A Combat Troodon, & a Makora 1. I also have Bechmades, Protechs, Piranhas, Gerbers, and a few others but the Microtechs steal the show. Superb fit and finish to say the least. They are a little pricey but I believe that you get what you pay for with a Microtech.
@@modestcody123 even Elmax is a premium steel and should hold its edge for quite a long time, so I'm quite confused what you're talking about losing its edge quickly.

Brosky I know the different methods I could use to control humidity but he showed off his new rhino metals safe a while ago and I was interested to see what he does to control it plus it could make a good intro or outro to a future Sunday-Gunday
Adrian Spivey I tossed my 1911 in glove box of my jeep, you know just in case my EDC needed some back-up. Took off to the coast for the weekend. Ended up staying couple extra days an never opened the doors on the Grand Cherokee, it was parked in parking deck with security, so wasnt too worried about pistol an stuff. When we got home , Oh No ! Looking at my old all steel pistol, standing in driveway about to scream ! Totally covered in a layer of surface rust... Luckily it cleaned up ok being the old metal it was , but the humidity is a bi*** all over the south especialy
Here in Texas we call those kinds of knives Angel blades....... I don't know why but that's what it was growing up.....lol. I've always known as a switchblade to pop out of the side the push of a button and angel blades come straight out. It's good to see a little knife video from time to time. Everytime I go to the gun show I've always wanted to buy the Wolverine claws. 😂 My wife won't let me waste the money though.... lol. She doesn't get that it's a decoration.... 😉
Awesome talon! I think knives and guns go perfect together! My edc is a glock 22 and a Keyshaw speedsafe and I love the combo! Thanks for the amazing vlog and keep them coming and anytime you wanna do knife vlogs I’m down to watch!
I really want to try an Ultratech now and while they are a bit pricey I just don’t like the glass breaker on the end. IDK why, it just looks unappealing to me. I’ve got two Benchmade OTFs that I love but my EDC is a Benchmade side opening automatic. Thankfully they are legal where I live. I was glad to see this review and it’s renewed my interest in trying a Microtech Ultratech.
Dude great work,I’m feeling your style and your mini review covered juts about everything. I have a D/E stonewashed full single serrated. My Ultratech is always on my Person...That thinness and light weight on this piece is Insane.!
I just love how he can make something so boring look so interesting and all the details and all the things he can say about a knife(me I would be like "hey guys here is a knife") 😂😂 keep up the good work
BTW that blade steel will stay sharp for a long time under use. M390 is an outstanding blade steel. If you want to open one up you can get the bit from pvk vegas or if you don't want to buy it you can take an old pair of pliers and cut a slit up one of the jaws to fit in all three gaps of the hardware. Doing so will void warranty but that's on the user and be prepared for things to fly if your not careful. I recommend carefully holding the blade and trying to retract it at the same time to disengage the mechanism before opening so nothing is under tension. Last thing is under the trigger is a very small spring to keep the trigger from rattling, it is not stuck to the trigger it is only held down by force. Lose that spring and you with have rattle.
Its important to note that although microtech has a mechanism to stop the knife from opening if there is something in the way, other brands dont always do this.
I just decided to buy my first OTF. I was going to buy one of these but I ultimately chose to buy the slightly smaller UTX-85 version since I plan to carry it every day. For anyone wondering, it’s an Ultratech that is 15% smaller. UTX-85 = Ultratech X 85%. I’m sure I’ll be adding a full sized version to my collection eventually but I really wanted to start with the 85.
I actually carry a double edged ultratech as my EDC. Same as this, but with black hardware/screws. It works great, but the black anodized aluminum can show wear pretty quickly. That and these things are expensive as hell, assuming you can even come by one. They are always out of stock, otherwise they go for $285 and up.
I cringed a little bit paying that much for a knife but I absolutely love my ultratech now. I have the double edge in black but I think I’m going to buy another one like yours for edc.
I have the same blade and color just in the utx-85 the smaller one and being in Wisconsin it’s legal to carry so it’s my edc along side my Delica 4 Damascus/titanium!
It's completely legal to carry those knives in the great state of South Dakota! If you ever need to get rid of it, let me know. Also just got the Talon Sei belt from Trayvax! I got it in tan.

I'm in Texas and daily carry one just like this except my blade is black. The action gets sticky after a few months, but just a bit of lubricant and it's back to normal. I use wd40 or any kind of lube like it. Very nice knife though
I have an Ultratech and a Cypher. I actually enjoyed it as an EDC until it gets dirty. I use my knives on anything I’m working on like gardening, plumbing to working on my motorcycle. Whether it pocket lent or dirt it will get dirty and not deploy with reliability. Because of the proprietary hardware and warranty you must send them back for cleaning. That’s not good enough for me. There are several different sizes of hardware and if I’m lucky and get the right size bit I will void my lifetime warranty. So, the only time I carry my $475 Cypher is when I just want to play with it or show it off. Maybe cut some paper.
I got those two as well I don't care what people say the cyber is great for last ditch effort self defense if I'm in gym shorts don't want to carry gun it will do
Awesome video, I appreciate the hard work you consistently put in. I can’t carry an OTF here in Colorado either, so I’ve been carrying a Zero Tolerance 0350TSST and love it. I would like to hear your thoughts on the Tachyon III before I pick one up!
