Ford Ranger Raptor Off-Road Review: It's Unstoppable!

- Hello guys, and welcome back to Car Obsession. So as promised, here is my off-road review of the new Ford Ranger Raptor, and it turns out, it's pretty darn good, but I'm sure you would have guessed that! The Raptor is 150mm wider than a standard Ranger, plus it's got a higher ride height.
As well as that, it's got shock absorbers made by Fox, chunky BF Goodrich tyres, a 60% stronger bashplate at the front, a low range gearbox and no less than SIX driving modes. It's clear to see that the Ford Performance team have not held back with the Raptor, which is just as well when you consider this pick up truck will set you back almost £50,000!

Really enjoyed this, I love off roading. Shame there's not more external bystander clips, but I know you're limited because of your small size compared to the big boys on TH-cam.

I would have got more external footage, but there are only so many times I can ask the Mrs to get out in to mud LOL. Plus the weather really turned towards the end, so it would be even more unfair to get Patsy to get out in the rain, plus she wasn't really great towards the end because of her ongoing health conditions. I was very grateful for the footage she was able to get, though 👍. Thanks for watching Samuel! 👍

Ford has planned limited units of this for India. Given the fact that people here love the endeavour which is based on the same platform, I'm pretty sure this one should also get a great response. It would be interesting to watch this conquer the dunes in the west and snowy mountains in the northern part of India. Great video 👍.

I honest can't remember, this was filmed a long time ago, so it may have changed. Look up Slindon Safari and you should find the details. Or search John Morgan 4x4 👍🏽.

most of that could have been done in 2wd lol, and u shoulda taken the harder tracks, then it woulda left u exhilarated.
Hi netslave, thanks for watching. I sorta get what you mean, but the other tracks would have been too narrow meaning there was a strong likelihood I would scratched the vehicle to buggery, which wouldn't exactly go down well with Ford. Even the wider tracks were proper muddy, so I still think 4WD was necessary. The problem is, when I don't take an off-roader off road people complain but when I do, they say the course is too easy, so I can't win. People need to appreciate that these are not my cars, and that they have been loaned to me in good faith by the car manufacturer in the agreement it will come back with no serious damage. It's VERY difficult to build a relationship with a brand to the point they loan you a car, so I'm very careful with their cars as a result. Sorry to rant a bit, but these kind of comments are somewhat frustrating.
