🙂Hello Jackie, a few months ago I started to watch your videos, and they inspired me to start fasting. Shocked at how easy and effective it has been. I've lost weight, feel a ton of energy and feel young again. (I'm 71) I just went dancing with my 40 to 50 year old friends, and guess who owned the dance floor! A big big thank you Angie!❤❤❤

23:1 is how I do it every day! I've been doing OMAD for 3 months now. I love it. It's definitely something that works well for me, my body, and my lifestyle. I'm strict with my eating window and fasting window, coz I thought that's how it had to be!!! I totally get what you mean by the "now or never" mind game. To begin with I ate a lot of sweet treats, coz I thought I couldn't have them later if I wanted them. I didn't like this, so started eating more satisfying healthy foods, so I wouldn't need the sweet food at all. Still learning so much as I go. It's been great. Thank you for your videos. 😊

I've been doing OMAD for a few days now since Friday evening. I've tried intermittently fasting including 2/3 days fasting periods and found it became a chore to do and was actually harder to try and plan meals in a 6 hour gap for example and eventually I fell out with it.
These last few days I've not been worried about the meal I have and just focused on having one period of eating and whatever food would work for me and my wife at the time. I'm a shift worker and some days I'm working until 9 and just naturally thinking I'll eat when I'm home is just so much easier and I'm not constantly worrying about having enough to get me through til dinner but not too much I can't enjoy dinner etc.
My energy is increasing, I've not yet weighed myself but already I'm feeling like my belly is more jiggly which in the past has meant a loss in visceral fat which is a lot more important to me than just visible ones. I'm quite comfortable in my own skin, yes a couple of sizes down in clothes is going to give me that visible difference but it's health and longevity for me and so far this feels like the best way to go about it. Thanks for sharing your story, I think the strict hour won't be my way to go as such but some days I naturally finish in less time and the longest so far has been 1.5 and neither felt rushed or too much of a break up in the meal.
OMAD advocate for life? Could be!

What I like about doing OMAD protocol during celebratory periods, is that you can go all out & not end up bloated (as I have done in the past over Christmas). As you say, you can eat whatever you want, no restrictions, you can celebrate with your family without restrictions, but stay at a good weight.

It only took one week to get used to one meal a day. I’m 63 and vegan for 8 years. I work from home and typically eat within 2 hours some time between 5pm and 7pm. During the day, I take electrolytes. I do not feel hungry until it is time to eat. After eating, I drink herbal teas until bedtime. Having a warm drink helps to suppress the appetite. But I really just do it for pleasure now. My body has gotten used to eating this way.

Hi please check out Dr. Mindy Pelz videos. Her how to i.f. are very good. One thing I realized I wasn't doing right was absolutely nothing while fasting except her " fasting drinks." It makes a huge difference if one is eating a handful of almonds 10 hours into the fasting window. Or eating a protein bar with 32 gms of sugar. She basically says not to work out very hard the week before your period. Better to avoid long fasts these times also. She always takes into account the monthly cycle which truly makes fasting soo much easier for females. She is excellent.

I’m always bummed to read other people’s results. I’ve done 18:6 fasting for 3 years (and don’t eat extra calories from skipping). Even do some 24 hr fasting. I have not lost one single OUNCE. Don’t feel any more energy or anything different. No difference in measurements or clothes. I keep doing it because it saves me time in the morning. Oh and my medical tests are also the same. Such a bummer when others seem to get so much more.

That's interesting ...do you fast 18:6 without variations of fast ?..for example if you want to lose more weight you would do 5:1:1 [ 5 days IF -[your choice] - 6th day 24 hr than 1 day full eating window] ..the reason why you variate fasting is that your metabolism cannot plateau ..its constantly being challenged by variations which has better consistent health results ... How much weight would you like to lose? Are you already slim? If so, your body may be hanging on to the weight because you don't need to lose anything. I'm looking at your avatar photo and your face looks slim.
Prior to beginning OMAD were you someone that eats frequently during the day or tends to eat just once or twice? Perhaps people who ate frequently prior to OMAD will lose weight when they switch to OMAD because their body is detecting a significant reduction in insulin activity (the less frequently we eat the less insulin activity). If you have always been someone that doesn't eat often, your body may not be responding because it isn't detecting enough of a change. Sometimes the body has to be shocked or surprised in order to be responsive.
If you are someone that has been eating big meals infrequently for years, you might lose weight by not doing OMAD! You may get a reaction from your body by eating 5-6 mini meals (approx. 200 cals per mini meal) and not eating past 5 pm or 6pm. It may respond because it is tired of the huge amounts of food you might be eating during 1-2 meals. I enjoy fasting and get results from it, but I know someone that tends to lose when she eats several mini meals during the day. She can't do OMAD. She will feel unwell. Also, even if she fasts for 23 hours her body will not lose weight if the OMAD meal is during the later part of the day. She drops weight at the speed of lightning when she eats mini meals frequently!
Do you have your OMAD meal before bed? In the morning? In the afternoon? Calories burn faster when consumed during the day rather than in the evening.
Are you consuming lots of carbohydrates (especially start and sugar) during the OMAD meal? If so, your body may be holding onto water and that is masking the weight loss. Water binds to glycogen molecules so the more carbs we eat the more water we retain.
A technique that helped me is to alternate between a fat/protein emphasis for some OMAD meals and a carb (low fat/low protein) emphasis for other OMAD meals. I find if I continuously eat high fat/high protein meals I don't lose weight. Many people into OMAD focus on the keto types of meals or meals with huge amounts of fat and protein. There are some body types that can't lose weight on carnivore types of diets or Atkins. Perhaps it is your macro ratios that are preventing weight loss.
Feel free to contact me and perhaps we can direct message on a social media platform. I belong to a few online OMAD groups and will be happy to connect with you.

How are you able to get full on 700 calories a day? What types of protein are you eating? How much fat? Are you eating extremely low carb or something? The only way I can get full on 700 calories a day is if I am eating cheddar, the fattiest cuts of beef, tallow, etc. No way can a person get full on 700 calories a day and not be fat bombing. Glad you are getting results. But I would like to know which types of protein you are consuming, the cuts of the meat, how saturated your fat is, etc.Are you eating lots of fatty beef?@@BossyLife-ly9ys

Im consuming max 500 cals a day, which seem very extreme restriction but for me it works. Im eating anything i want (also having a drink like a tea, coffee, juice) just making sure its not above calorie restriction i set to myself. What i noticed is that i usually lose 3-4kg in first 6 days of omad. Plus to mention, im working full time job, and riding a bike every day. It can be a shock for your organism. You can eat 2 meals a day, make sure you are consuming enough of everything (carbs, proteins, fruit, veggies) , you can have a drink ofc , tea, fresh made juice, coffee. If you want you can start with one meal, but make sure that your meal isnt above 1k calories(ofc you can have drink as well) You can try out omad diet for 1 week and see if it works for you. If you notice dizzyness, feel weak, lack of energy, you def should stop with a diet. Diet worked for me even without workouts, I recommend you to not do them, because it might be too much. Just keep doing your daily activities together with omad. And yes i lost weight in my face and body, but everyone has different type of body so it dependes ^^. I hope this gonna help, but surely do more researches about omad diet before getting more into it. Btw dont pay attention to your bullies please, ignore them. How does this affect hormones over time? Since fasting longer than 15 hours can raise cortisol thereby suppressing progesterone and that's something you want to avoid during certain times of your cycle when you need to build rather than suppress progesterone? Do you ever alter your fasting schedule based on where your hormones are in your cycle?

I’m doing this now but eating very simple, healthy foods. Chicken breasts with an assortment of veggies or ground turkey etc. I’m taking in around 1000-1300 calories a day and weight and fat is falling off my body. I def think about food ALL THE TIME so i get the bow or never mindset but luckily I’ve ever had much of a sweet tooth so i don’t miss anything like that. I could lose 16 lbs in a month. Nuts

I’m 63 and vegan for 8 years. I recently started OMAD. I will say this concerning weight loss. I think that younger people will be able to do intermittent fasting and not restrict the kinds of foods they eat during their eating window and still be fine. But after age 60, it is extremely difficult to lose or even control weight due to hormonal changes and slower metabolism. So I think that after the age of 60, it is better to restrict the kinds of foods or, at least, how many calories are consumed during the eating window. Otherwise, an older person might find themselves gaining weight, especially if their diet is contains a lot of animal products.
