I actually enjoy feeling hungry when I have one meal a day. I know it sounds weird as hell, but it's true. Then when I do eat food it tastes so much better than when I'm eating 3 meals a day.

Patrick Todd: So very true. I never felt hungry for so long I was eating 3 times a day as if it was important just to survive! Like religions, it is another man made generalized response for societal reasons keeping nature and human individual needs and situation out of any consideration. I agree that the routine was taken as "law' in my case as needed to stay alive. Yes, I enjoyed the eating... even though only that short part of the process (daily) and the long term effects of it must be all taken together in the larger picture of one's health and well being. Salute.

That's great, Marcia! I met a 71-year-old guy at my gym a few months ago and he was telling me that he eats only one meal a day, and the man literally looks like he's in his 50s. He's slender and wiry and does all kinds of aerobic exercises that put many younger people to shame. He highly recommended the diet to me after I told him about my lack of energy issues. I'm definitely thinking of giving OMAD a try, but I know it's going to take a lot of discipline!

Dr Eric, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, words lack my appreciation for what you have done for me. One morning I get this TH-cam suggestion, to watch your video; about fasting. I have fatty liver, cancer survivor, hep c survivor and a list of other medical problems, many doctors have tried and failed to help my pain, sleeplessness, fatigue, chronic bad breath, foggy brain to no avail. I decided to listen to you and started my journey; cold turkey that day 23:1 fasting. It's been 4 months now and I can say with tears in my eyes that YOU Dr Eric have save me from a life of misery and no hope. I have tons of energy, sleep well and my pain is 90 to 99% gone. God bless you and may God keep you in his watch every second. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you to the power of infinity.

牡丹 Bahar I mainly went vegetarian, wholemeal pastas and rice and occasional chicken. Oh and lots of fruit because it's the only sugar my body likes now lol - almost 1-23/2-22 depending on the day, I tried not to be too strict. Some days I eat more than others and some days I have something small in the morning (usually if I've had a crazy high energy day). But generally speaking after about a week maybe 10 days you stop feeling hungry all the time. After about a month your only hungry for healthier foods and when you do eat something your body doesn't like, you'll be able to pick out what it was really easily. I don't have any plans on stopping any time soon because I eat when I'm actually hungry and my body needs food, I drink maybe 4 times the amount of water I used to, I have endless energy now and generally speaking my overall health has improved massively.

Oh and I'm now 59 kilo and holding solid - not putting on or losing any more weight now. Went to the doctor a couple of days ago and for the first time since I was 13 ALL my blood work (vitamin mineral etched) was spot on and my bmi was considered healthy. FIRST time in 20 years. so for me, after endless searching and doctors and specialists and things half working or simply not, Dr berg changed my life.

I dropped 3.5 kg but 2 days ago I realized when I eat at each 24 hrs I gain,it was very strange for me!! I’m 85.9 kg now And I wanna be 70 kg my height is 180cm ,haven’t been 70 kg since my 18th😔but i have to say in this 8 days I saw obvious skin healing specially on my face, even my cheeks color became red and I have obvious high energy as you said!! My weight loss started slowly too - the first couple of months I think i only lost about 5 kilo. After that, once my body realised what was going on and that it wasnt going to starve, I started dropping weight SUPER fast. Some weeks you might only lose half a kilo, other weeks you might lose 3. Indeed, almost as if the body adapts and uses every cell of food and every cell in your body much more efficiently, since you're no longer flooding your entire body with excess waste.
People think I don't eat enough when I tell them how I eat, yet on the flip side will compliment me on how healthy I look without knowing my diet.

Was following keto with IF for 18 months, and I find OMAD much more sustainable. If I want some fruit or a complex carb, I don't sweat it. But having loved the IF, OMAD is a natural fit for me, with the slight dietary flexibility I didn't know I was craving. Btw, I have congenital congestive heart failure with cardiomyopathy (dx at age 25) ... most recently, my heart function increased so greatly, they had to repeat the scans, having gone from an EF of 30, to nearly SIXTY, in one calendar year. This is classified as "recovery" or "remission" which I intend to draw out as long as possible. Not sure if IF or OMAD has contributed to this incredible change, but if it keeps me from going back on the transplant list, I'll take it!!♡♡ Love, light & wellness!

diamond starr KETO is a very short term weigh loss plan. You can't be avoiding carbs your whole life you know. Or else you're going to be living in pain.
"Dangit I ate some ice cream, nooooo." That's what you are going to be whether you like it or not.
The real secret is to just go into a calorie deficit.

diamond starr just practice an 18 hour fast of IF from Monday to Friday and then you can try OMAD on the weekends because we all know that's when the real binge eating starts. Or you can practice IF for some time before going into OMAD because trust me, the hunger will be unbearable. OMAD is great and just after 4 weeks you can notice some MAJOR weight loss.

I started a fasting regime May 1 at the encouragement of a friend. I weighed 250. I’m type 2 and 62. I’m a landscaper so I’m physically active. I live in Raleigh and it’s summer. At first I did 16/8 and ate whatever I wanted but didn’t over eat. Then I extended to 18/6. At that point I realized I could do OMAD. The last few weeks I put MCT oil in my morning coffee and a smidge of Italian sweet cream.. I drink water through out the day but I don’t crave water(to remain hydrated you have to constantly drink) and I’ve added Dr Berg’s electrolyte powder to my other water bottle. I’m watching my carbs closely but I haven’t been overly rigid. I take all of the recommended supplements advocated for my condition and as suggested. I use Goli and CBD. I pretty much eliminated bread, soft drinks, lunch meats, sugar, and most sweets, chips(replaced by a handful of Brazil, pistachio, walnuts before a meal and sometimes dark chocolate covered nuts( small amount) for something chocolate.)and all snacking. I go out to eat at least once a week and eat what I want and have a mixed drink or two.
    Here are my observations,
I’m not hungry. I do look forward to my evening meal and I try to be finished no later than 8 pm if not sooner. I eat good tasty food with a mixture of items. You will be surprised at how little you eat even going 20 plus hours. I’ve studied better nutrition for me so it’s NOT boring. Hardest thing has been including eggs more into my diet. I eat large salads several times a week but I add ample amounts of blackberry and other berries. Meat and fish, nutritional yeast but fried salad onions too. I drizzle some olive oil and dressing, heavy fresh pepper and pink salt.
I’m not craving sweets or carbs at all. Since I’m not hungry I’m not snacking
The Southern heat is NOT melting me whereas in the past it would. Removed the sugar.
Aside from being 62 and doing physical work in the heat I feel great! My clothes are all loose on me( I’m a big guy) even tho I’ve only lost 15 pounds since starting. My target weight is 230(what I weighed 32.5 years ago when I got married) but my body is real happy now @235-240. I move like I’m half my age and have constant energy. My maleness issues have gone away and my wife is getting chased around the house again much to her chagrin. I will almost look forward to my next visit to the doctor. I know my numbers will be better!
I could turbo what I’m doing but I’m fine and strangely I’m really enjoying this experiment. I do not feel deprived of anything food wise. I’m not missing any of the foods I’ve cut out. I’m not having any trouble getting back on routine when I cheat a meal. Even when I think I might eat earlier than planned I end up still getting most of a full fast in.
Adding MCT may kill my fast but I don’t get hungry so I must be using my coffee concoction effectively for fuel throughout the day and I greatly enjoy my morning cup.
I’m a foodie y’all. Waffle House is my favorite restaurant. I love to eat. But as my friend told me” you get an insulin response from anything and EVERY TIME you eat.” “ Your body needs time to rest from over working digesting food”.” Try fasting!” This may have been a life saver for me. Some years ago I read( and still reference) a book named “ The Four Hour Body” by Tim Ferris. That book resonated with me just like Dr Berg and others on TH-cam have. Contemplate the information you watch here. Try it! Be steadfast bc it’s an investment in yourself!
I eat 7 meals a week. I used to go to the grocery twice a week. My bill was up there bc even tho I was trying to eat better, junk still ended up in my cart. Now I save at the store and I don’t feel bad about what I spend on my “ dinner” night!
I’m proud of myself for the discipline Ive adhered to. I’m not going backwards bc I’m enjoying all of this even if In not total keto.
Lastly I want to thank Dr Berg(and the others advocating for us all here on TH-cam) for their advice and encouragement. But I also want to thank everybody that posts. I read all of them and feel the camaraderie here!

I remember coming across this video a few months ago when I just started intermitting fasting and I'm so grateful I did. (16:8) I remember thinking to myself "okay, why not? I'm 26 years old, tried multiple "diets" and nothing has every worked for me." Now, 4 months later, I lost 20kg (44 pounds) The weight just melted off! I sleep better, have more energy, no cravings and less headaches. I don't think I will ever go back to eating 3 meals a day. OMAD is way of living for me. Oh and the best thing about it is: when I just started, everyone around me, friends and family, co-workers, thought I was crazy for "starving" myself. They didn't understand why I was doing what I was doing and to be honest they didn't really wanna understand either lol.
But now, once they saw you can still maintain a healthy body, while eating once a day, most of them looked into fasting and the health benefits of OMAD and started as well. Excited and happy about the positive impact that it has had and still will have in the future.

But during my most desperate attempt to lose weight and reverse pre-diabete signs, it actually freakin improved so much! everything thats being said in this video really did happen to me!
I used to be a binge/comfort eater holding on to 200 pounds and I was 5'3 which is not good at all for someone with diabetes running in the family. Binge habits are gone, I can now turn away mcdonalds. I don't crave anymore junk. I already lost 14 pounds in a month, maybe thats not a lot in a month but wow the difference is huge. The euphoria is so real too, I can actually finish projects and feel motivated to finish things. Defintely worth it.

I started this almost two weeks, ago. I will definitely follow this style of eating for the rest of my life if possible! I feel so much better!! I was struggling with emotional eating and nothing I tried was helping. I literally cried one day because I couldn't stop craving food. I felt so low and defeated. I started watching weight loss videos for motivation and stumbled across an OMAD video. I decided it was worth trying. I'm so happy I did. ALL of my cravings are gone!!! Sometimes, my mind will wander off to cake/pizza, the foods I was craving most, but I don't want them!!! I don't have to fight an urge. The thought comes and goes just as quickly. I haven't been glued to the scale. However, I feel lighter and better in general. I'm sticking with this. I drink between 3 liters and a gallon of water, everyday, too. It has been a great change for me!!! xo

Then four days ago I tried this but made the one meal during the week to be lunch, not dinner, and the pieces all fell into place. The meal looks like it will be later on weekends. My morning blood sugar on Tuesday was 180, which is a lot better than the 265 from a few weeks ago. This morning (Saturday) I had a blood sugar reading of 101. I have been eating low carb, but cutting from two meals to one made my blood sugar plummet- it seems like magic for diabetes- and for weight loss. I can't wait to see how this goes over the next few weeks. This video really adds so much motivation, but I have to call the doctor out for one thing- I think the pun was intended.

OMAD is the real deal! From 134lbs, now at 116lbs and this all happened in just a month. No exercise, I still eat carbs and a bit of sugar in my coffee. So happy with the result and I will continue this as a part of my lifestyle!

So many people are starting New Year's resolutions today, and the most common resolution is weight loss. So this is a perfect video to start the New Year. Outside of adopting a low carb way of eating, consuming OMAD (One Meal A Day) has been one of the most effective tools for me to lose weight. I lost 65 lbs (going from 230 lbs to 165 lbs) in 10 months, just using a low carb diet alone, but keeping the same conventional meal frequency (i.e. 3 meals a day, plus a snack here and there). However, once I got to 165 lbs, my weight would not budge for nearly 8 months. Then, I had tried intermittent fasting by skipping one meal a day. This broke my plateau and I started to lose weight. Then, eventually I went to on just to do OMAD. I subsequently went on to lose an additional 30 lbs, bringing my grand total of weight loss to 95 lbs. I am now, as a 40 year old 5'6" man, thinner than I was than when I was in high school.

No Joke. I lost 18 lbs in 5 days on OMAD! It's still hard for me to believe. But I weigh myself every morning and the numbers don't lie.
    - My 1 meal every day is at 12pm. I ensure my 1 meal always includes a little fruit, healthy protein and a some kind of green veggie. I drink teas and water and feel so happy that I've lost so much weight in such a short time! I feel proud of myself for being disciplined. Disciple has been the 1 main area in my life that was lacking. Praise God for the strength to try this. If I start feeling anxious or hungry I take a little break and do some deep belly breathing or listen to some relaxing medication music. I get more done in the day, more productive. Overall, this is great. My goal is to do this for like 6 months to loose some major weight, then to switch to 2 meals a day.
    - I'm so grateful for this!

Update. Lost 12 kg in 5 months. now solid 95kg. I'm 192cm. I did started to have headaches. I eat little dried banana with porridge etc in the morning. And my main meal 5pm(I eat loads of veg chicken turkey you name it. Every now and then maybe couple times a month I'll have junk food. But its not a treat. There is nothing good about it. Mindset is everything. human body is amazing. No more energy drops in more nothing no more nothing I'm an animal.

@@a.s945 ...sorry, AS, but if you eat porridge in the morning you're not really doing OMAD.....sounds fine and I'm sure it works for you, but it's not OMAD.....

I can’t believe how easy this is. I have had weight problems my entire life that I was only able to lose with extreme exercise. I have done this for about 4 days and I have already lost 3 lbs. This is with no exercise at all due to it being painful because of a busted L4 back disc. The first 48 hrs is very hard and you may be a little nauseous. Once you get past that you become less hungry.

I actually fell into IF without knowing it: Being a teacher, I found I wasn't able to eat at lunch time because of my busy schedule with work preperation and always having to set up the next lesson before the children came in for the afternoon. It was something I did daily and because I have never eaten breakfast for much the same reason, it became a pattern I grew into. I now feel blessed in a way that IF has benefited me in more ways than I knew. And it is with interest I have been able to see Dr Berg's videos on IF to discover even more about this as a benefit. I have stayed slim and intend to continue with IF. Thank you for all you do with helping to enrich us all with such knowledge and information- from UK
