Brand new to resolve and I am going through your videos. I was able to get up to the point of "publish to tracker" but nothing happens, do I need the paid version of resolve to use this feature? Assuming I get that figured out how do I do the lines for only part of a clip? I have a video of a large country property that I'd like to boundaries to fade in around the 5 or 6 second marks and then fade out 5 seconds or so later, say around the 12 second mark. How do I set where I want the mask animation to begin and where to end? Being new to resolve I click on things and am having very unexpected results and undo doesn't always bail me out. I'll keep poking at it but in the hopes you are still responding to questions I thought I'd ask. 1 suggestion when you use shortcuts that is great but going the menu route for us newbies to understand where to find those options should we forget the shortcuts would be a great thing to show as well.
My mask path does not show the 4 dots to adjust. ver. 18.5. I am stuck at this point. I've tried this on 2 computers now both fail and lock up the program. Tracking 4 pts seems to crash it.

This is very similar to the method I use, but it does not address how to handle lot lines that track onto or off the screen. Due to laws regarding VLOS and altitude, large properties must be shot by rotating and/or flying around a perimeter. Unfortunately, the background node tracks with the video (I use planar trackers), and I cannot figure out a way around the issue so that I can create lot lines that come onto and off the screen without getting chopped off due to the background tracking with the video. It would be nice to have a workaround other than having to put a background node in. Any advice or a new video would be great. Too bad I can't post screen shots in comments.
If i understand you, theres a part in this vid that shows you how to get around that if you're using planar trackers. th-cam.com/video/h62x-kSKQpU/w-d-xo.html
@@dontperezourbuttons Thank you very much! Yes, you do understand perfectly! I had not seen this video. But, I had previously tried expanding the size of the transform which he talks about in this video, which works most of the way, but eventually flakes out due to a limitation of the transform. The max size of a transform is 32767, which is still too small for my project since the tracking goes off screen for a considerable distance. However, what I have not tried that is mentioned in this video is a Bspline node. I've only tried the polygon node. This might actually solve my problem. Thank you so much!
The tracker looses one of the points and the shape "jumps" around.... Im on Davinci 19. How would you track this manually? How do you handle problematic tracking? The video is great and I thank you!
Good afternoon. Lately I've been following your tutorials on Davinci, I do it at an amateur level and not as a professional. In addition to cameras, I have a drone, and I have become increasingly interested in retouching photographs and videos. As I am a beginner in this program and I am in the learning stage, I have not yet started using it, for now I am collecting information on how things are done. Regarding the method you use to mark the limits of this property in the tutorial, I would like to know what you think of the following method carried out in Fusion: *Make a Planartracker to the surface. *Generate a Planartransform. *Create a white Background, for example, on this previous one. *Now on the Background a Bspline is created to create an area, and in its menu the "Solid" option is deactivated, leaving only the edges of the area. In this menu, the movement or shape of the edge is also corrected in the "Position" and "Length" options. And then a couple more corrections can be made. What do you think about this ? All the best and thanks for your tutorials.
this doesnt work for me in davinci resolve 19 i try to track points but it just comes up with intelli tracker and doesnt work for all 4 points any advice?
Very useful. Thanks. First time I came across the "instance" funcionality. If you're looking for a video idea: Fusion expressions - Overview of the most used expressions and variables
I know this maybe a dumb question, I'm new here, but what software program are you using? This is all using DaVinci resolve assets (free) program? And are any plug-ins needed?
I'm doing something similar to this for a client, but the area outlined moves out of frame - which seems to great an issue with tracking. How do I work around this?
Excellent tutorial! Quick question: Whenever I move the Write On button down to zero, the opacity fills the screen and causes there to be a blinking effect right before the opacity inside the boundary lines blink. I'm not seeing how this happened and I've followed the video very carefully.
SOLUTION: For point tracker issue, select all the points twice consecutively. first time all points turns green, next time it will turn RED and the try publish to point tracker / tracker, it'll work
Can this be done with a dash line instead of a solid line? I've been trying to make a dash line from many methods but none ever work (use text with - letter , use solid line with masking and such). Those work as long as you dont put a tracker on them. If you do the tracker everything will just fall apart (the text version just keep spacing the - itself more and more when i animate and track them, and the masking method just refuse to move the mask along the tracked line.)
That is an amazing video, most of those style of videos also have number references indicating the size of the property, how can you put numbers and texts on the photo?
I just changed my workflow and only use two nodes. I add one tracker node and select my points, then track it the clip. Then in line next I add a paint with my points . It lets me select all points and publish them . At that point it’s the same thing just click the point holding it down and take it to tracker and then to the point. Copy and paste each point and it works perfect
In my experience, it is usually because the tracking points cannot find enough contrast in one of the selected tracking points (point tracker) or inside the polygon selection (plane tracker). The best thing to try is increasing the size of your trackers if possible.
looks very cool but creating it is a lot and yet you explain it makes it seem super easy hahaha, nice work how about a quick video on how to flipping a video around so that the end is the beginning.

I have this same problem, the tracker does not appear after I select publish tracker. Very helpful video otherwise!
Just select all the points again
Highlight everything then hold Crtl + Click on each corner or point. It should turn red and that's when you know it is working
I followed to the tee but when im in the publish to tracker, i only get 1 tracker \ center. Any idea why?
Helpful but does this work when the drone is making an arc and the land shape is changing relative to the original polyline stroke shpe?
thank for the video but i have a problem already rendered but few secomd before change the colors i dont know what Happen , Have you some idea :
