    I've used Proto a few times before and love it, like most other Plugins from Patrick, but this is insane. I have never even considered something like this would be possible with that effect. You nailed it! I wish you'd take a couple of seconds to mention why you use a specific Node at a specific point as im not too familiar with the fusion page and effects.

    • @JamieFenn
      @JamieFenn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Hey Jamie,
    This was an incredible idea and effect. If I could provide some feedback, it would be explaining the "why" on each node. I often catch myself just copying an exact example (like your node setup) but then because I don't understand why things are doing what they're doing, it's harder to take it as an actual learning to be applied on future projects. An example is that most of it's intuitive up until 4:23 where suddenly I wondered, "why paste *instance*?" or "why de-instance an instance?" then 6:20 onward I found it hard to understand why you were each node in in the locations you added them.
    Either way, incredible effect - thx!

    • @JamieFenn
      @JamieFenn  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! Thanks for the feedback. It’s a tough balance between being straight to the point and explaining in some of my tutorials. If I explained why each node and explained what everything does in depth, my videos would be over an hour long. I’ll try my best to be explain more in the future though.

      just take baby steps, honestly. on this, youre just following his instructions without knowing why. look up some VERY basic fusion tutorials and dive in, its not that bad,. node based comping is your friend and its not really that bad. just start with 2 basic movies and the merge node. merge nodes are the heart and youll be flying in no time. this tut is relatively advanced so dont worry. good luck

    • @charlieross-BRM

      It would have been helpful to indicate at what stages you can say "enough" and exit the fusion tab. I understand several nodes need to work as a set but the end result here was overkill as an example. I would have stopped @5:00 - past that is indulging in the "you can also . . . " territory.

    Hi! I'm new to DaVinci and just getting back into NLE after years of being away from my cameras, and coming from the Adobe suite I'm impressed with DaVinci's workflow but am a total DaVinci noob. I see a million videos on this, but the color shifts are all an immediate shift or wipe like shown in this video. What I'd love to see is a tutorial on gradual color shifts or even shimmer effects where the time transition between colors is adjustable and maybe even a gradiant like waves of color shifts that are spectra rather than solid segments of color.
