- If you think the Yiga Clan is a goofy bunch with a banana obsession, you are... well, not wrong, but about 50% correct. Yes, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom tend to portray them as something goofy and unserious, but hidden underneath is a dark organization, that is not afraid to go very far to get what they want. Let's take a look under that Sheikah mask and see what we find...

The way they ambush you in Breath of the Wild was fun, but in Tears of the Kingdom? They're sneaky bastards; i mean, one asked to be healed in the depths, and explains how to heal from gloom . . . and then attacks. I cannot count how often I've let my guard down during a conversation in TotK only for them to pop out. And I love that one part of them, if nothing else.
It would be more fun if disguised Yiga weren't all just called "traveler" or "researcher" when no other npc is. If there were real researchers scattered about the depths or travelers scattered around Hyrule that you could actually help for a reward, that would be so awesome.
I mean technically they did the same kina thing in breath of the wild pretending to be random people
The first time I ran into a Yiga Clan member was the first time I entered the depths since the tutorial. I just saw a depths researcher and thought this was a normal occurrence. I still can’t believe they actually got me, given how much of BOTW I've played.
I hope the Yiga become a recurring group in the franchise
I legit want the darn Douchie's to apologize to the skeihah (link included and royal family especially Gerudo) because they think they were slick. They literally just get killed by Link for being a douchie..
Well, their story of origin is directly conected to the Calamity plot point. It would be weird if they were to just start existing without that element

Know what I find ironic? The Yiga clan originally and decided to wipe out the royal bloodline because the king banned their technology. The current princess and functional leader of Hyrule is a huge nerd for Sheikah tech.

I always though it was weird and funny how the yiga used to be sheika who reveled against the kingdom and sheika who didn't think like them but all we see is them having beef with the gerudo instead with sheika
Yeah, plus it's pretty possible that,
Link & Zelda are both Skeihah tribes. Because the yiga doesn't only attack those 2, they also attack Impa, Paya & Purah. Especially Robbie. And the other skeihah.
I mean the way he describes the yiga killing Dorian's wife and threatening his kids is just standard gang stuff I feel. Which makes the desert war a p standard grab for territory
Think of the implications if the Yiga weren't so goofy. The game would probably go for E10 to Teen because without Koga being an idiot, or the tiga loving bananas, thier just guys in a death cult thatbwant to kill you, and you have to kill. Thus making it harder to call cartoon violence, and just being, violence.
To be honest, I'd rather have the guards be goofy for bananas.
And for Master Kohga I just need that dickhead to just get destroyed.
There's a reason Mario Kart is consistently rated E despite being the video game equivalent of that scene in Final Destination 2.

Actually I think they like bananas because if they're cooked they make you stronger(do more damage) and they are shown to be assassins

Off topic, Impapedia is a fantastic channel name.
I guess the Yiga don't rampage more openly to avoid retaliation, because offing Link's allies, especially Impa and Paya, seems like a great strategic decision but it's going to invite a greater retaliation from the other Sheikah, the Gerudo, the Zora (though the hideout being in a desert might limit that one).
