This is only headcanon but I've always considered the old woman you meet in Kakariko Village who tells you that Sahasrala went into hiding when the maidens started to disappear to be LttP's Impa.
@@slateoffate9812 Old lady, all the old lady sprites in ALTTP’s Kakariko look the same but it fits. The one Clyde’s talking about is specifically Sahasrala’s wife too iirc.
OG Impa is super underrated as her existence implies the Sheikah play a vital role as lore-keepers & truly covert players in the downfall timeline. The Sheikah probably even arranged the majority if not all the trials in AOL. (Fr the lore for the dungeons in AOL is bonkers, underrated game as a whole fr.)
So Impa was first a witch, then she went to the gym, then she became Kim Kardashian, then she got dropped, then she forgot to go to the gym, then she got the best design in Hyrule Warriors, then she became kinda hot tho and learned some shadow clone jutsu, then she forgot that people liked the young version better and became old again, then she became a fisher price doll Wow. We've come so far.
My first and favorite Impa is Oracle Impa. I didn’t think much of her when I saw her in-game sprite in the Oracle games as a kid. But once I saw her actual art when I was older I was in love and I’ve been sad ever since because that design has never been revisited and is trapped in the games few others talk about.

We simpa for Impa. She's one of my most wanted characters for Smash, and I've cosplayed her as well as done her voice in some fan projects (funny thing is that it isn't the SAME voice!)
@@BJGvideos I’ve been advocating for her inclusion in Smash for years! Sheik has long stopped making sense as a character to have and Impa has had so many roles and incarnations and abilities that she has had a long time coming being the Zelda series’s next proper representative!

Especially since she actually DOES STUFF in that game, while in Ocarina of Time she just plays harp and throws smoke bombs. Impa appears in the LttP sequel BS Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets. She is looking for Zelda in the first week, and you can meet her in the castle in subsequent ones. She uses a modified sprite of the old lady.

Skyward Sword was the first Zelda Let's Play I was invested in. I liked that she had a darker skin tone and thought that it could have been a Shieka trait. Maybe like the Gerudo. But, I know, she was portrayed as white from the get-go. What can you do?

It's strange in Skyward Sword since she seems to gain Native American coding when she's old but she doesn't have it at all when she's young.
I never really thought about the fact that the named characters that keep repeating are all part of the reincarnation cycle and the curse of Demise and all that. But Impa is not part of that mess. So why does her name and role seem to be repetitive as often as it is? Well maybe it's because her name isn't so much of a name as it is a title. Think of human naming. Surnames used to denote profession more often than not. What if Impa is actually a title of a royal bodyguard type or caretaker or whatever. The slight shifts in what her role is could be accounted for by the change in the role over the years between games. Sometimes she is a caretaker. Sometimes a bodyguard. Sometimes she is not even directly associated with the royal family. But she is often tied into the story somehow. But whereas someone who makes clothing may have the last name Taylor, maybe Impa is more of a name tied to something she was raised to do rather than just a generic name. She rarely appears in a nonservant style role after all. And history dictates that elites are not always the nicest or most compassionate toward their servants. Just saying

As a kid, I didn't even notice OOT Impa. What a little fool I was. Skyward Sword young Impa was perfection.
