    I still have my 2013 I bought new. I put a custom windscreen molded to match the curves of the headlight and clocks nacelle. I am a senior now and the screen is a must for my comfort when I have to take the highway. In the Western US you cant always get from place to place on secondary roads. Now being older I truly appreciate this little Suzuki even more. I do 180's with my feet up and move it about the garage no problems. It is super happy from 50 to 65 mph. Zero issues. Only getting to the airbox and cylinder head to check the valves is as bad as a liter sport bike. It has the most supple ride of any bike I've ridden and my back appreciates that. A very rare bike in the states. I haven't seen another one on the road in years.

    Had mine three years. Fitted a 15 tooth drive sprocket. I still don’t use first unless starting on an incline. The screen makes helluv’ a difference too. Did Manchester to Gloucester and back in a day. Touching 83 (indicated) at times M60/M56/M6. MPG checked out at 91. The 15T drive sprocket gives a more accurate indicated speed👍

      Hello mate thinking of getting one as second bike how does the bike feel at 70 does it feel like it struggles also im 128 kg will it carry my weight.

      D T I can’t give you the revs off the top of my head but it keeps up easily with Motor Way traffic. As regards weight, I’m 71kilos but my mate (heavier) rides two up with his wife okay but has kept the 14 front sprocket. What speed he cruises at? ... Don’t know ... sorry.

      @@grahammay6917 Thanks. Definitely 15 tooth sprocket sounds the way to go

    Put ear plugs in and you have a very nice very quiet all rounder ..soft suspension and you can sit on the pillion seat to give the rest of your body a stretch on a long ride. This bike has a very pleasant engine sound as well. Gears are very smooth ..same with engine. I also own a Suzuki Hayabusa for the extra thrill when required, but I mainly ride the Suzuki 250.

    There's no wind protection on most bikes and half of them are capable of speeds well in excess of 100mph let alone 70, therefore you could argue there's even less point to all those bikes than there is to the Inazuma 250. Stick a screen on if you want some wind protection. There really are very few bikes that are truly comfortable at motorway speeds for hours at a time, it's way more enjoyable to cruise at 50-70 on A & B roads if you can...

    I used to have LRW 568 V which was a 1980 GSX 250 E which was more upright and I've used it at 70 mph for 3 hours, she also had poorer aerodynamics. The shape of your helmet and the streamlining of the visor can have a major effect on wind buffet. Most people today are too used to being cosseted in all aspects of life and need to toughen-up if they really want to get the most out of motorcycle riding.

      Only a complete philistine who is totally devoid of mechanical empathy would ride a 250 at a sustained speed of 70 mph for 3 hours ..

    I rode my GSX 1250 fa on the M1 last year believe me it was no better the fatigue was dreadful after 1 hour at 75 MPH I cruise at 60 -65 MPH and its fine also done same on a 2010 GTR 1400 bloody awful as well your 250 did good great vlog thanks for sharing .

      You want a MRA vario-touring screen, made a hell of a difference to the GSX1250fa that I had. The other thing to look at is your helmet. When I changed my gsx to a tiger sport I immediately noticed a huge noise and buffeting increase from my HJC IS-Max 2 helmet, I've now gone back to full face and Scorpion EXO and that has made a difference to the Tiger. Hope this helps, Happy New Year!

    Wind blast is horrible on a bike it massively puts a downer on riding. I've got an fjr 1300 with decent wind protection but even to that isn't perfect... Iam on the look out for a small bike to use for short trips and to commute as the big lad is just to big and heavy for an everyday bike... I really like this little 250

    Add a screen, say a Givi universal AS660, (which is what I have) and the wind is gone, and I can cruse at 60 without tearing my arms out of their sockets or blowing my helmet off my head. It also blows rain over me, so I do not need windscreen wipers. I must add that at 70 the engine sounds/feels strained/over-revved and there is little left power wise, but at 60 it sounds/feels like it could go forever. So I tend to cruse a 60. There is also enough oomph left to pass a slow moving vehicle easily.

    @1:55 I ride at 100kph and can hardly feel the wind (I live in Queensland Aus which is subtropical so this would make a big difference I guess). If you have strong head or cross winds and it is cold wind this can make the ride rather unpleasant .

    Just a question.
    How much roughly would a GW250 cost to insure? I have been thinking about getting one of these after passing the test.

    • @Pen15UK
      @Pen15UK  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you're best running some quotes online to find it. there's so many different things that make up an insurance premium.

      All depends on where you live, hold old you are, how long you've ridden, and whether or not you've been in an accident or fall. Plus if you live in the U.S. you can take an MSF class and get a discount. i suggest you do so. They'll also teach out the skills needed to ride a motorcycle.

    250 cc bikes are not built to be ridden at sustained top speeds for long periods .They are meant for general economic running around on A & B roads at 30 to 50 or 60 mph ,with the odd short bursts to top speed on a couple of sections of motorway ,to blow out the cobwebs .

  • @SpikeyOfficial

    • @jeffbankston8806
      @jeffbankston8806 10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      71 mile per gallon most riders buy it for that it pays for its self 15 tooth sprocket will drop the rpm a full 1k

    All this massive moaning about wind on a bike, is a little like a surf boarder complaining about the water 😂 modern riders need to grow a pair, if you don't like wind, you shouldn't be riding a bike 😉
