The Suzuki GW250 Inazuma.
Soft, squidgy, heavy and slow. Not traditionally a good recipe for fun and excitement. However, the Inazuma does have a certain charm and despite my initial impressions, it turned out to be a lot more fun than it has any right to be. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
This bike is a jewel, twin exhaust, twin cylinder, 200kg with fuel, top box and saddle bags, perfect for motorways were winds are strong, can do 70 with a passenger, mpg good, nice display, nice overall, cheap insurance, and the list goes on... Who doesn't like it buy something else:)...

Is 3k reasonable?

so true i didnt not belive how this bike handles its self, didnt want to get of it and very powerful i throught for 250 , the rev range is very smooth , and can really take off well
No such thing as a boring bike. I started with a Honda 100 two stroke, worked my way through the capacity scale up to 1200cc and am now working my way down again having realised the advantages of little bikes. This looks good.
I got my 2013 this week. I absolutely love it. My outgoing bike is a Fazer 600, which I found difficult to mount and I kept going too fast on it. My Inazuma has MSR sports cans on it and burbles beautifully at low RPM and on the overrun. It is the smoothest riding bike I've ever had and I corner it with far more confidence than I did the Fazer. It's great to have fun at legal speeds! I've had over 60 bikes from 49cc to 1200cc, and I can honestly say that this is a jewel of a motorcycle. I'm getting 76mpg too. It has a great instrument cluster, superb gearbox and clutch, fine brakes, comfy seat and brilliant style. My only criticisms are that I'd like the bars to be slightly further back as I am almost straight-armed and I could wish that it was a bit higher-geared. As the speedo works from the gearbox output shaft, changing the sprockets would make it under-read compared to standard. I very much enjoyed your video, Bennie, and your riding style is certainly entertaining!
Changed my rear sprocket to a 41 tooth and its brilliant. It also means that the speedo is actually doing the right speed as well. Exactly the same as my phones speed app

I bought one a couple of weeks ago, the GW250F version, though, thanks to in part, watching this video helped me make the decision. So far so good, I'm pretty chuffed with it and the price I got it for on a pre-registration. I don't think I've got the bottle to chuck it about like you do, and, the fact that I can't go over 5600rpm at the moment while it runs in means I have to behave myself. Thanks for the video mate.
Such a good point about comfy being more important than fast. You can tour on a slow bike but an uncomfortable bike is useless.

Thanks. Glad you found it informative. I try to focus on the bikes in my vids and not myself so much. I try to make the vids entertaining, but not being a natural comedian, I tend to just ride quickly everywhere to be entertaining and let the bikes do the talking.

A fantastic bike. I have a 2016 with 14 thousand miles. Extremely comfortable, reliable and fun. Mine is new. I'm 60 years old and have been using it since I was 17. I've had countless motorcycles of different types and cylinder sizes.

Going to pick one up tomorrow! Exactly what you say. I passed my test got a fazer 600 way to much hard work for the commute, so 2 bikes for life a little commuter and a bigger bike for distances happy days.

I live in Japan, and my daily driver is a Honda super cub 50. I rode a 750cc Yamaha virago as my first bike. And just like you said, riding a small bike teaches you so soo much about keeping momentum and planning your route 5 cars ahead so you don’t have to slow down. And reving it to the limit all day to eek out every ounce of power is a good laugh going to work in the morning. Japan is super restrictive with 50cc scooters. You are limited to 30kph. But everyone just ignores that law and does the 50kph speed limit. I went on a mountain road tour with it and it was a blast. Me and my mate both have the same bike, doing 15kph up hill. （＾∇＾） I do manage to scrape the pegs on turns. However it’s so dangerous because the pegs are solid and can disrupt the back tire.
I'm hoping my brother is getting one of these this weekend. He seemed happy enough with it.
I had a quick go on one once. It reminds me of the infamous 250 Superdream. It's big and comfy, looks quite impressive and could pass for a 500 but ultimately its just too heavy for its capacity.
I know what you mean about the fun of throwing a small engined bike around the bends flat out. I used to have a CD200 Benly, top speed 70Mph, 13Bhp if I remember. I could grind the (Spring loaded fold-up) foot pegs on the Tarmac on tight bends, and if it all went Pete-tong I was only going 30. It sounded good too, as the contents of the exhaust silencers had rusted away and been blown out the end years before I bought it.

i got bike the other day , really amazeing bike , very supriseing power range , keep in the hi rev range , its not boareing at all mate , its heaps of fun and u do have the xtra power if needed , its really steady in winds as well , i payed 2700 2013 , few kms but shes really handles well , well dne suzkui . it enought power , for me and lot of fun
Top speed of 85mph is perfect. Why do you need any more?
That's probably winding the bike out at a high RPM so to be at a more realistic RPM for long-term cruising would probably have to drop down to 60 or so
@@robertg2397 Interestingly, even 68 (indicated) mph is achieved by this bike's smaller cousin, the GS150r, without any trouble.
People used to learn on these. Older riders immediately want to jump on a 1000cc and don’t know how to manage it. My learning came on a vfr400. You learn to manage corners/gears/speed etc and how to maintain it.
I keep thinking to sell my 2013 to get a Royal Enfield 350 J series Hunter. But I just can't bring myself to sell it. It is so much fun. You feel like your an F1 rider while going the speed limit. I am up there in years and I enjoy the suspension comfort and easy ergonomics. We have paltry few choices in the States when it come to bikes under 500cc in the UJM format. There either Adventure or smaller replica's of larger sport bikes. No torque really but when you spin it up it gains speed at a pretty amazing clip for a 250! Crazy smooth for what it is. I have thought of selling it 250 times at least. But what to replace it with? I think it is still fore sale in Asian markets where it was always popular so accessories still available for it. I got a cool fitted windscreen that matches the headlight nacelle from Italy. I never have taking it touring but I am thinking to give it a try. The gas mileage would be crazy good. Please somebody bring a back something like the CB 450 twin.
really impressed with your riding style man!! had seen your Apache rtr 180 riding video in Nepal, I have just bought the RTR had second service its a charm to rev the hell out of it on highways Thanks for your advise and experience about small capacity motorbikes. I'm gonna stick to this for a year or so then move to higher capacity beasts. your videos are informative and quite interactive i must say. for weather its the best this time in India. do let me know if you ever plan to visit here.

i got one about a year ago and i honestly prefer it over my dads kawasaki er6n it rides smooth and has a delkavic full system so sounds amazing

I rode one of those for a couple days when I took my riding course and it was a lot of fun!
I ride my Inazuma 250 more than my Suzuki 1300. It is more comfortable easier to ride and powerful enough not to lose you licence. Not as much road cred as a superbike but does not attract law enforcers attention to the same degree..

When I passed my test I went straight to 600s. I've currently got a fz6 and kinda regret not starting lower. As you say in your video pushing a bigger bike to the limit can be deadly where as this bike looks fool proof

My only serious complaint after 5 years of ownership is no ABS .but it is a fairly cheap bike. It is very well made with soft comfortable suspension .I also own a Suzuki 1300..too heavy and too fast.
Those little roads are scary as hell Mine is still breaking it in bought it for commuting in town but have had it on free way I am 240 lbs and 9k 75 mph hell a wind screen and it would tour just fine going to change frt gear to 15 should do fine
yea it s ok i have one too perfect for city, i still miss big cc the power they have but the Inazuma is what i actually need now, the down part is the first gear that s too short

wind ofchange 1 down 5 up. Standard 6 speed setup. Never heard of a manual bike that doesn't go down then up, except some race bikes that go up then down through the gears.
I see Kawasaki have jumped on the cheap(ish) small naked bike bandwagon: Z250SL and Z300: £3649 and £4349 respectively.
The Inazuma's sold pretty well due to its real world pricing so maybe the Z250 will too.

I usually wear textile trousers or leathers, but occasionally I do wear regular jeans if I'm just going to the shops,but I try not to make a habit of it. It's the lack of impact protection that make jeans a dangerous choice though imo
i have inazuma. i live in italy. i could say this bike is a cow. a big 180 kg cow that slowly graze the weed. it hasn't torque, nor acceleration. i see burgmans and yamahas 250 cc scooters going faster and lighter than this cow. but i like that it has the appareance of a bike, being a mule. a lazy one i will say...

Hey, what is the top speed you can achieve on the highway without straining the engine (stressed out sound)? I enjoyed the video, thank you.
75_80mph isn't too bad for cruising. wind protection is OK. The engine sounds rough past 80ish. won't do it any harm I expect, it's in a low state of tune, but it's not a pleasant noise to listen to on a long trip.

I believe this is a great bike for the money you pay and your video was a good reason to continue to consider the bike still as a good choice in the 250cc segment. I'm looking into buying this bike as my first... I'm 22 and I've have a little dirt bike experience but just here and there. Would you recommend this bike? Oh and I'm 6' 2" 210 lbs. And by the way I enjoyed the video! !
Depends on the sort of riding you do. As an everyday town bike, for £3000 new, its hard to fault. It's not the most exciting bike to ride though. There are some good deals around on new KTM Duke 200's. They were discontinued in the UK last year but there are still some around in dealers and on the used market. They're a little more expensive, but they have a little more power and are about 30kgs lighter! Much more fun to ride and still a good everyday bike. The Inazuma is a lot more comfy, but dynamically, the Duke beats it hands down.
+Bennie Hitchcock I got a GW250 myself and I will still say the Duke 200 is the better bike. Unfortunately it's quite a bit more expensive here in Indonesia and spare parts are very hard to source, which makes it more of a weekend hooligan bike. The Indians and perhaps the Pakistanis instead got the reverse situation, the Duke 200 is very cheap in their countries and the GW250 is the expensive one.

I have one of these as my commuter bike with a top box centre stand etc, totally agree it's fun in a completely different way, also you don't feel as horrible if it gets damaged in one way or another compared to a superbike.
You ever ride for sustained periods at highway speeds? i.e. 100kph+. If so, how does the bike handle it?
Yeah it does ok cruising at around 110-120kph. I find that wind protection isn't really an issue until you start going over 120kph on most bikes. But this bikes wind protection is fairly good for a naked bike. It's also very heavy for a 250 (183kg) and the suspension is quite soft, which makes it comfy and means it soaks up bumps really well. Much better for long distance compared to say a Duke 200. Duke is more fun on twisty roads though.

+Fudge You You won't regret it. I have the 2013 model and its such a good bike... its not teh fastest bike, but its super confy and has good milage on it because of teh fuel injection system and the eco option for city riding etc.
Carl A. N. Yeah, it's a nice eco and luxury bike type I feel. I'm gonna get a bigger bike one day tho. I wish they made the gw250 with a bigger motor though.

It's a metal tank. The panels on the side are plastic but you can still use a magnetic tank bag

Btw, i wanted to ask ... whats the mileage counter, driving like a maniac? I mean, whats the worse you were able to achieve? I reckon something like 40mpg? Or better?
Even when I spanked it pretty hard, I was still getting about 50mpg. When riding carefully, I could get nearly 80mpg
And kind of fuel do you normally use in bikes like these? Some form of Hi-Octane or normal Petrol?
I don't know about UK, but in Pakistan we either have a 87 rating normal petrol and like 94-97 Hi-Octane. GW250 owners in Pakistan could hardly achieve 30km/l with Hi-octane usage, under normal driving of course. So i was just curious to know if this bike could fair out better than that.
***** I generally only use premium fuel I my bikes, even the Honda c90 got high octane fuel! Over here, our high octane fuel is between 97 -100 ron. Standard fuel is about 95 ron.
Can't really say whether or not it gives better or worse mpg using premium or not with the Inazuma. Marginal power gains. Not really gonna feel much of an improvement with a bike like this imo.
in places like Pakistan, India, Nepal ect, where the quality of fuel is lower than over here, bike manufacturers take this in to account and set the bikes up to run on lower octane fuel. Therefor it may not run as efficiently on high octane.
Also, the suspension setup/spring rates are also different from the ones we have here, due to the different type of roads.

Thanks dude. Yeah, it helps when you know the road well. These are pretty typical of British countryside roads (b roads) I've got a fair amount of experience riding roads like this. Unlike India, drivers tend to stay on their side over here and we don't tend to have cattle sat in the middle of the road!
Well at least you have got such roads there. :D I live in Pakistan, so as a biker .... we do miss such roads in a country side.

Yeah, we are pretty lucky to have some nice places to ride over here. It's just a shame that bikers only make about 2.5% of the road population here.

Nah! You'll be alright. You'll soon get used to the speed and besides, you don't have to go this fast. You'd soon get bored of a 125 I reckon, plus a smaller bike won't be as comfy as the inazuma or as good for long journeys.
Wow that's slow my 97 kawasaki zzr250 can do 160-170kph and is a 250 cc twin aswell
