Oh man... The answer about Lucifer represents so well why I could neber be Catholic (with respect)- that answer about Mary has no grounding in scripture at all. There are so many beautiful things about the Roman tradition but this exalting of Mary is nit one of them.
That’s so beautiful. You know yes Mary literally held the light that is Christ our Lord. It’s my oldest Son’s birthday tomorrow. He’s all grown up and in the last part of his twenties now. I remember when my first Wife was pregnant with him. I used to love feeling him kick while he was inside her Womb. That always reminded me of when Mary met Elizabeth and Elizabeth was pregnant with John the Baptist. The verse says of Elizabeth that the ‘child moved within her’. It was as if even while still in utero John recognised this was Jesus, the light of the World who was even then coming into the world. I love thinking of Mary as the new light bearer because as the Father says here Lucifer rebelled and pridefully disobeyed God. However Mary humbly accepted God’s will for her and her life and thanks be to God our Saviour Jesus Christ was born into this World to save sinners like ourselves.

@Michaleleer do you have pictures of family hung up in your home? What of family members who have passed away? Do you never speak to those pictures or simply look at them and say something hoping tjey could hear you? If so, is that worshipping them as idols? "Oh grandma, I know you're looking out for me, please help deal with this situation which I know you're familiar with." That's not worshipping that's asking intercession, there's a BIG difference.
I'm glad I found Father Mike, he is full of life, charismatic and a joy to listen to. He presents difficult theological topics very simply. I used to listen Fr. Wow - Father Mike, you are the first american that i've ever seen who fixed the hand signal for the number 2 from the gesture which here in Ireland is vulgar to the acceptable palm forward version. Well done Father :) !!! Loving the videos Father, I've been looking for a channel like this for ages. Thanks for these videos! :)
I had to share this. In Genesis chapter 2 verse 3 it says that God blessed the 7th day and made it holy. After the Great Flood, when people again began to be wicked they fell away from Sabbath observance (which God ordained to be Saturday, not Sunday) so God said to Moses to REMEMBER the Sabbath day and to keep it Holy. The Ten Commandments were not the original decree for resting. They were a reminder. All respect to you Father, I just had to point it out.
Jesus Himself said "I have not come to abolish the teaching (meaning the 'mosaic law' as you say), but to fulfill it" Jesus followed mosaic law, so what right do we have to not do it ourselves? I intend no disrepect by my comment, I was merely pointing out that the day of rest was established in Genesis and not in the Ten Commandments. I am not being a troll.
When I was a child my parents allowed “stuff” to happen to me. Through my life, I’ve become closer to God and now that’s my reason for living. I always thought I would never be able to forgive them. Last week my mother got sick and had to go to the hospital. The first thing I did was ask for Gods mercy with her. (She has her own God)Have I forgiven them?
Thank you, soooo much, Fr Mike for saying that we are not slaves and through God we are allowed to be free and rest a day! I am a nurse and going to nursing school, and the job has become so hard these days. Thank you so much!!

#askfrmike Does being a faithful Catholic Christian make me invincible to danger? Will God protect me as I go on a 10 hour road trip by myself to a place I feel he is calling me to go? Will he protect me from disease and people that want to hurt others in another country?
#askfrmike: Hi, I asked my pastor if we could organise a fundraising to buy Bibles to put in each pew of our church. He answered that even if they were all free, he didn't know what they'd do with the Bibles; they weren't needed in each pew. I like to sit in church in the middle of the day talking to Jesus and I always wish there was a Bible there. My pastor said I could just bring my own; that the readings necessary for Mass were in the missel. Even if that's true, is there a legitimate reason not to have Bibles in our church pews? How could a church say, "no"?
#askfrmike - Father would you do a video on the gift of humility? Can you explain why anyone should bother achieving great humility? Can you give current examples of humility and why it is important to master great humility?
#askfrmike I have been meditating and praying for a while and I keep on asking God to open my ears to His voice. Sometimes I sit quietly and meditate in order to listen to what God has to say but I don't know if He is truly speaking to me or if it is just the voices (or me talking to myself) inside my head. Let me know if you have any spiritual advice. Thanks
I used to struggle with this a lot. Then I was once told that reading scripture is the best way of listening to God speak to us. It's amazing! Scripture is the Living Word, we can read the same passage so many times and each time God whispers different things to us as new things stand out when we read it.
Thanks for letting me know. I didn't think I would even get a response from anyone. What you said is a good way to think about hearing God's voice. Thanks again for the tips. God Bless.
I know what you mean. I've heard the best way to hear God is by disconnecting yourself from everything and not think of anything and to be in silence but like you said, I think that I'm just listening to myself thinking. It's really hard 😕
#askfrmike I was recently talking with another Catholic and they said the "liturgy needs to be changed. It has been around for 1200 years". Several of us commented that our liturgy came from the Last Supper and changing it would basically negate what the Mass is about. They said no it wouldn't. When asked to clarify what they wanted to change, they suddenly had to leave. This person was very adamant. They grew up pre-Vatican II by the way. How do we convince them of where the liturgy came from? This person also has issues with purgatory and the existence of the devil==they think the Church doesn't teach these anymore. They are active in the Church so it is bothersome to think that maybe they are spreading these liberal beliefs to others. Thanks Fr. Mike!
#askfrmike when we pray to God are we essentially praying to sway God's mind a certain way or are his choices set in stone? I guess I'm asking what prayer really does in the mind and heart of God.
#askfrmike How should a Catholic approach the election of a political figure, and what are the primary things a Catholic should consider with regards to politics? Thank you, Robert

quote---God bless you Mike, you have guided me to Mary and the God almighty--unquote What do you expect mary to do for you when she is dead and in the grave???
Father Mike One question I have is in the Bible Jesus said “Not the son nor the spirit know the hour, only the father.” I am born and raised Catholic but have been struggling with my faith for a few years. But the question is how can the God be the trinity but the trinity isn’t equal? How can one part know something the other three do not?
Fr Mike though I see what with you say in comparison with Mary and Satan I remember Mother Angelica saying it differently, she said that the reason Satan fell from grace was because of Jealously and pride, Mother Angelica said that Lucifer was the highest most powerful angel created by God and he couldn't stand it when he realised he would have to take second place to Jesus Christ the King, Jesus born into human form, and Satan said '' I will not serve, I will not obey.''
#askfrmike Continuing on the question about working on Sundays, is it wrong for a student to put of homework until Sunday and rest on Saturday? Specifically if the work on Sunday isn't the only thing that you do, so you do enjoy some leisure as well.
Stephieandcheech the charistmatic movement in the church is essential for the growth of it. Through it, we experience the raw presence of The Trinity. We cannot experience all of it - our human nature limits us. The gift of tongues, as well as other gift, are already given to us during confirmation- we just have to unwrap them with the Holy Spirit. Charismatic worship brings us so much closer to God.
@@aimyp9653 Nope. Charismatic worship is the result of focus on emotions and extatic experiences. It is absolutely not essential for any form of growth of the church.
Father Mike. I noticed that most Bible movies skip sections of the Bible containing the church's teaching. like, there's the part "...you shall be called Peter And apone this rock I shall build my church... " it's made to "...you shall be called Peter... " or the Last supper... "...this is my body which shall be offered for many... " is made to "...(and he blessed the bread)...i shall not eat or drink from the fruit of the vine...) it looks so righteous to seat and watch a bible movie cause you are trying to watch something clean but then you can't help feeling like you're going further down a nasty road😕

@@abri_xxx, why should she have to? Shouldn't the almighty God who demands praise and worship be a little more on top of things like this?
@@HELLH0WND I don't say she has to. It could be ONE explanation.
Great answers to difficult questions. Thank you Father Mike. God bless.
Ok but I can’t be the only one highly amused with Fr.Mikes God voice.
Haha the ☁wind 😂😂!! Great video Fr. Mike ..God Bless You !
God wants us to be free all the time not only on Sunday
I never pictured the Holy Spirit to talk. I think the Holy Spirit is felt. Like an emotion. Lol. I don't know what I'm saying.
He is a person and he actually talks😅
Wow - Father Mike, you are the first american that i've ever seen who fixed the hand signal for the number 2 from the gesture which here in Ireland is vulgar to the acceptable palm forward version. Well done Father :) !!! Loving the videos Father, I've been looking for a channel like this for ages. Thanks for these videos! :)
lol .... Mystery explained! I wondered why he always does that.
Thank you! I struggle to not work Sundays
CASEY KEELEY We are no longer under Mosaic Law.

One of your best videos, thank you Father Mike
Thank you, soooo much, Fr Mike for saying that we are not slaves and through God we are allowed to be free and rest a day! I am a nurse and going to nursing school, and the job has become so hard these days. Thank you so much!!
I wish my boss listened to you about that work response.
I am a southern Baptist and here I am four years after you uploaded this video enjoying your message. Oh and love the Yogi bear voice but keep working on the Holy Ghost 😝.
#askfrmike Does being a faithful Catholic Christian make me invincible to danger? Will God protect me as I go on a 10 hour road trip by myself to a place I feel he is calling me to go? Will he protect me from disease and people that want to hurt others in another country?
God Bless!
G bless you brother
#ASKFRMIKE How should we pray the rosary/how do you pray the rosary?
#askfrmike: Hi, I asked my pastor if we could organise a fundraising to buy Bibles to put in each pew of our church. He answered that even if they were all free, he didn't know what they'd do with the Bibles; they weren't needed in each pew. I like to sit in church in the middle of the day talking to Jesus and I always wish there was a Bible there. My pastor said I could just bring my own; that the readings necessary for Mass were in the missel. Even if that's true, is there a legitimate reason not to have Bibles in our church pews? How could a church say, "no"?
God the Father's voice 👍
We need to worship God every day.
thanks so much father for everything you do my dog just died yesterday and watching your videos make me feel better
#askfrmike - Father would you do a video on the gift of humility? Can you explain why anyone should bother achieving great humility? Can you give current examples of humility and why it is important to master great humility?
Love your videos. You are very charismatic, make things easy to understand, thanks to u I am growing spiritually. God is love.
You are so easy to listen to, what a gift
#askfrmike
I have been meditating and praying for a while and I keep on asking God to open my ears to His voice.
God Bless.
Colin DeHaven Im glad to have helped!!! Reading scripture daily really helps me in my spiritual growth (:
I know what you mean. I've heard the best way to hear God is by disconnecting yourself from everything and not think of anything and to be in silence but like you said, I think that I'm just listening to myself thinking. It's really hard 😕
chaveochoa Yeah its tough
#askfrmike how complete surrender to god is possible and what is temptation and when will it become a sin ?
Thanks Fr. Mike!
Good advice. Good teaching
Anyway i like you father mike,i may or may not always agree for what you have said, but stll like father mike.
Thank you. I agree with you 100%. If God follows Jesus, how far?
#askfrmike when we pray to God are we essentially praying to sway God's mind a certain way or are his choices set in stone? I guess I'm asking what prayer really does in the mind and heart of God.
tq father
is it a sin to pray that God is happy and is having a great day and feels our love?
Great comments
God bless u father
u are just awesome ❤❤❤
#askfrmike How should a Catholic approach the election of a political figure, and what are the primary things a Catholic should consider with regards to politics? Thank you, Robert
Fantastic !!!!
#askfrmike
I feel very blessed right now in my life, and that God has answered my prayers. What can I do to thank God for the blessings He gives me?
UnratedAwesomeness SAY THANK YOU FATHER FOR HEARING MY PRayer. Just like Jesus did. Thank him in the name of our Lord and be good to Others just like God is good to you.
God bless you.
Help someone without, someone in need and you will be blessing His Name like he blessed you. "whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
God bless you Mike, you have guided me to Mary and the God almighty. Glory to God.
quote---God bless you Mike, you have guided me to Mary and the God almighty--unquote
What do you expect mary to do for you when she is dead and in the grave???
#askfrmike
What/who are the archangels? What is spiritual warfare? Also, how do you fight against the enemey
#askfrmike Continuing on the question about working on Sundays, is it wrong for a student to put of homework until Sunday and rest on Saturday? Specifically if the work on Sunday isn't the only thing that you do, so you do enjoy some leisure as well.
Since Jesus is the Light of the World then Mary is indeed the new Light Bearer.
#askfrmike can you talk about the eastern Catholic Church and their relationship with the Holy See?
#askfrmike What is your take on the charismatic movement in the church? Does the Holy Spirit give certain people the gift of tongues?
or the Last supper... "...this is my body which shall be offered for many... " is made to "...(and he blessed the bread)...i shall not eat or drink from the fruit of the vine...)
it looks so righteous to seat and watch a bible movie cause you are trying to watch something clean but then you can't help feeling like you're going further down a nasty road😕
Besides our Lady, St. Francis!!!
Thanku Fr. Mike was looking for short description on Trinity
