      At the time this was recorded, many of these "basic works" were unfamiliar to most classical music listeners, and almost all of them were unknown on the guitar, which itself was struggling for recognition as a serious classical instrument.

      I have had it since I was 14 and I fell asleep to it for three years. Along the way, I would be sound checking or warming up for practice and I would hit a certain random scale run, key, chords even, then parts of this would be triggered. I give all my friend's having kids the Mozart Einstein bc I know one thing that is disputed but know without a doubt it is true that you can learn subconsciously and transfer it into consciousness. I met Parkening as a teenager at a concert he played at the Cincinnati Conservatory, we immediately connected, its just one of those familiar things that make instant friendships. We keep in touch, even had a holiday fly fishing which was exhilarating to say the least, spoke on a deep level about religion. I revealed to him that I believed musoc theory was contrived for economic designs while I believed that structure was fraudulent it was a behemoth that deconstruction and revision amd showed him 4 compositions I wrote defying the construct and showing him in them that music was closer related to retatded science on the level of quantum physics instead of the patterned ways that it was restricted by the ways of music theory's production of robotic regurgitation of soon to be the future teachers of this cult of repetition. Years later at Vanderbilt we again revived our multi-encompassed conversation that gets envolved quicky, when John Johns saw that we were pretty much alone together in the room and ask him if he would convince me to be his grad student for one semester. He looked at him deadpan as he does and said while I believe it would be beneficial to you and your students, it would be stiffling to him. He interrupted, He would have complete freedom and, Christopher spoke over him saying, Believe me when I say that you can promise what you intend but will try to cage the bird almost immediately.. He said but his Brouwer is magnificent. Yes. He then gave me a tape.from his case called My Testimony. I have no idea why I opened up and told that story. It may have just been the music pulling it out of me. I'm sorry about this book, I just intended to comment about listening to it for a long time also.

    Decisamente affascinante, perché Segovia sta interpretando brani di musica barocca con uno strumento moderno,la chitarra a 6 corde. Fortissimo eccezzionale, perché di solito ho visto musicisti della nostra epoca suonare questi brani con la tiorba o il liuto. Segovia è superiore perché già dai suoi tempi a manifestato con garbo e leggiadria che la chitarra classica si presta a suonare qualsiasi cosa. Grande Andres Segovia!

    I think American classical music is a mix of brouque and spanish Andulusin because of Spainish/Portugies migration. It is also influence by celtic. Classic Western scales and orchestration/concertoes composers was a later introduction particularly with arrival of piano. Yet, folk influence is is still over the continent long before new introductions as Jazz and blues came in. But Sagvia is Spanish, but he has tried to distence it from original Andulusin flavour and flamneco in playing technique. *Opinion.But lot more.

    Cuando oye al maestro Andrés Segovia, en su tiempo posiblemente el mejor guitarrista clásico del mundo, entristece el comportamiento que tuvo con Agustín Barrios Mangoré (El Chopin latinoamericano), a quien elogiaba sus composiciones pero que siempre se negó a interpretarlas. Egoísmo y verdadera grandeza nunca van juntas.

    • @rufinosanchez2703
      @rufinosanchez2703 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Rafael: Efectivamente fue el mejor guitarrista clásico en su tiempo. Pero los seres humanos no somos perfectos. Segovia decía lo que pensaba, aunque hiriera a cualquiera. Como ejemplos daré sólo dos: Cuando se le preguntó qué opinaba de Paco de Lucía, Segovia dijo algo así: "es un hombre con los dedos muy listos, pero me desagrada todo lo que toca"; cuando se le preguntó por la guitarra de 10 cuerdas de Yepes dijo: "eso ya no parece guitarra, parece un guitarrón". De todos modos el Maestro Segovia fue un grande en la guitarra clásica.

      @ricardolemus5937 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yo también lamento muchísimo que Segovia no se animara a tocar la obra de Mangoré. Hubiera sido un grandioso aporte a la música de la guitarra de todos los tiempos. (Así también como nunca tocó el Concierto de Aranjuez.) Sin embargo, él fue muy claro al decir que sólo iba a tocar música estrictamente clásico. Fue un principio que lo ejerció fielmente. Y lo hizo increíble. Yo no lo veo como egoísmo. Fue una decisión que él hizo desde joven, a pesar que sí le gustaba la música de Mangoré. Recuerdo que por ahí leí que Segovia le encargo a Mangoré una copia de La Catedral, pero creo que nunca se la envió. Qué pena. Pero Segovia dejó a su "hijo" musical, John Williams para que se lanzara a tal proeza.

      El estilo de música de Barrios Mangoré no aportaba nada a la estética de Segovia, ya estaba trillado aunque ahora nos parezca sublime. El estimuló y ""llevó de la mano" a magníficos compositores como Castelnuovo Tedesco, Tanssman, Moreno Torroba, Villa Lobos, Rodrigo, etc, buscando ampliar, abrir y mejorar el repertorio guitarristico, tan pobre antes de su titánica labor.

      @@rufinosanchez2703 Cuando decía que le desagradaba todo lo que tocaba Paco de Lucía, dudo mucho que tuviese la paciencia de escucharle. Odiaba el flamenco, y lo que no le gustó fue el disco que Paco grabó sobre Manuel de Falla, como tampoco gustó a Yepes el disco del "Concierto de Aranjuez".

    Esibirsi con strumenti antichi come la tiorba per me è solo puro esibizionismo perché pwr gli altri artisti suonare la tiorba significa solo avere il suono di un tempo che fu recitando musica barocca.Il grande Segovia invece a fatto notare che tutto questo è possibile con una chitarra classica che ancora oggi (e per me sempre cosi sarà) che la musica barocca suonata con questo strumento ha un fascino ineguagliabile dal suono moderno con corde in nylon con un gusto retro di musica barocca. Grande Segovia (l'artista del tempo passato, del tempo di ora e del tempo che sarà in futuro). Se ci si pensa bene il suono della( tiorba estridulo) confrontato alla chitarra del grqnde Segovia( dal suono pulito e brillante)
